This new 3 bedroom bungalow features an open floor plan and a spacious front veranda. With 948sq.ft. inside there's plenty of room for a large full bath and laundry area near the back door which opens onto a circular concrete patio and fire pit.
This area is just several minutes outside the town of Paquera but both howler and white faced monkeys frequent the property. Over 150 different species of birds including parrots, hummingbirds and cuckoos visit regularly. This new 3 bedroom features an open floor plan with living room, dinette and kitchen all flowing together. A spacious circular patio with a fire pit under the mango tree provides the perfect spot to kick back after a great day at the beach or Los Delfines golf course.
The front yard doubles as a spacious car park large enough for two of the even the biggest vehicles.
Interaction with Guests
A few houses down, our neighbors Henry and Hilda are available to help with any questions you may have about the area. Henry teaches at the college and his English is quite good. Maid service is available at a reasonable rate of $3 an hour and Henry can arrange that for you.
This area is still quite quaint and not really changed by the development in other regions of the country. We are in a rural setting but town is just two minutes away! There are a number of beaches with a 10 to 30 minute drive. An absolute must is the night kayak tours to see the plankton bio luminescene in the Playa organos area.Whether it is a more quiet beach or a busier beach with more tourists and shops, you can choose.
It helps to rent an SUV but there are a lot of 'taxistas' in town and the rates are very reasonable. Henry will can call them for you and give you a card. The closet airport is Liberia and then a 90 mile drive down the Nicoya peninsula to Paquera. Many quests rent a vehicle in Liberia and return it as they head back to the airport.
Other Things to Note
The best restaurant is in the Hotel Ginana. Try the 'casados'. A ton of food! Also 'Las Vegas' is a typical rancho style restaurant with the best seafood in town. Curu Wildlife Reserve, Isla Tortuga, and Playa Organos are great local gems. Check out the restaurant in Pochote where the river meets the Pacific for some amazing shrimp.
We are in a quiet area and its nice to keep it down after midnight.
One of my favorite places to stay during my entire Costa Rica trip! Michael was delightful and extremely responsive when it came to questions about location and logistics. Though he did not meet my friends and I when we stayed at his home, his housekeeper Nena was exceptional. She met my friends and me at a bank in town, then showed us to the house. The next morning she brought us fruit from a tree in her own yard before bidding us adieu. Clean, comfortable, spacious and located in a relatively quiet neighborhood. Absolutely loved the thoughtful "guide" left inside the house with restaurant recommendations, contact information and a heads up about a local bread truck that stops by every morning. Would highly recommend this location!
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada but I love to spend time in this wonderful part of Costa Rica. My daughter, son in law, and grandson live in the capital, San Jose, so Costa Rica really has become my second home. If you get a chance, please come down and enjoy the house, the area, and the great people of Costa Rica!
