Welcome to The Sundial Beach Cabana, a private beach house located in Sittee Point. The Sundial Beach Cabana sits directly on the Caribbean sea between the sleepy little fishing village of Hopkins and the Sittee River. It is near all amenities such as restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, scuba diving shops and local outfitters. All are easily accessible by bicycle if you choose to not rent a car.
The house faces to the east allowing for amazing sunrises.

The space
Our house is simple but comfortable. The open plan living cabin is perfect for two people but can accommodate 3. It is equipped with a queen size bed, futon, fully furnished kitchen, hot water, wifi, bluetooth speaker, TV with chromecast (no cable), ceiling fans and AC. We also offer the usage of 2 bicycles to get around and explore, as well as a double sea kayak to explore the bay.
The viewing platform over the water is great place to watch the sunrise as well as the local wildlife such as rays, manatees and dolphins. We can also work with our property manager to organize private tours or transfers for you. Or you can simply chose to lounge around in a hamac on the large wrap around deck.

You will have access to the entire house with the exception of the storage space under the house.

Please note that the water from the tap is perfectly safe to drink. We do have a Brita filter (filters in the cupboard next to the fridge) should you prefer to filter the water before drinking. We offer re-usable water bottles for you to carry on your excursions as well as bags for your errands. Please try and minimize single plastic use as there is no recycling in Belize.

Bugs are everywhere in Belize. Don’t be surprised to see geckos in the house. It’s common. Mosquitoes and sand flies can be a nuisance after a good rainfall. We have insect repellent in the bathroom cabinet.

The Sundial Beach Cabana is in a quiet residential neighborhood, about 3 kilometers from the south end of Hopkins village.
Sitting half way down the coast line, many of the major tourist attractions are just a day trip away. A 40 minute boat ride will take you out to the largest barrier reef in the western hemisphere and over 400 pristine Cayes. The scuba diving and snorkeling are exceptional with Belize’s abundance of sea life along with some of the top dive sites in the world. On the mainland explore Mayan ruins, hike in the jungle and take a refreshing dip in the jungle’s infamous Blue Hole off the Hummingbird highway. Tube through caves, catch a zipline, or learn drumming from a local Garifuna drummer.

In 2018, we took the plunge and bought the Sundial Beach Cabana, our home away from home.
