The view mentioned on the title is across Hastings, from the front of the house and the lounge you look up onto Hastings castle, the house being less than ten mins from the station and five mins from the town centre and the sea.
The house is what one may call cottage style: few straight walls, lots of stairs (25) with turns (4) and 5 landings. But once your up in the room the view across Hastings is great for watching the sun set. The room is very warm in the late afternoon and quiet as well (apart from the seagulls).
The house features a comfortable lounge, with sky tv, music centre, along with broadband access for your laptop or blackberry, and a well stocked kitchen and dining room to enjoy your meal whatever the time of the day or night. smoking is only allowed downstairs.
The town centre is only a five minute walk away, and has most of the shops you would expect to find, along with plenty of coffee shops and a variety of Restaurants and bars to while away the time, should all that shopping be to much for you.
Only one rule, no street shoes to be worn upstairs please.
Be courteous to other guests, but then again that goes without saying, And enjoy your stay
Very much enjoyed the trip to Hastings! Bob was a fantastic host and the house was lovely. It's location was superb. Nothing negative to report at all, and will definitely be back!
Bob was really helpful and friendly - he even lent us his tablet so we could have access to the Internet. Thanks to his useful advice we even managed to save some money. The location is great - very close to the town centre and to the beach. The house is tidy and cosy, and has its soul. Our room was very quiet, the only thing we heard was seagulls. My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend staying there.
Bob was a very kind, helpful and attentive host! We absolutely enjoyed our stay, the house was so clean and really an experience, the room and the bed were absolutely fine! Thank you a lot for everything!
Me and my wife enjoyed the stay at Bob very much. House is old, very well maintained with "a character". Is situated just few steps from the old town centre. Bob found for us the best carnival event which worth to see so we have the best carnival selection. Rooms were clean with all equipments which makes living comfortable. We were free to use all kitchen appliances. I can highly recommend to spend days here to anybody.
We booked with Bob and Xiadong for my 20 year-old daughter and her boyfriend. They said Bob was very friendly and welcoming (they never actually me Xiadong) and the house was very nice. The room was fine although not quite as spacious as it looked in the photos. The location is good for the beach and the town and Bob was very helpful about finding nice places to go.
My husband and I spent 9 days over at Bob's place in Hastings and really enjoyed our time. The house is very quaint, beautifully located on top of a hill with lovely views and all local amenities to hand. Bob was very friendly and helpful, always making sure we feel like home and have plenty of personal space. We genuinely recommend this place and this seaside town! Thank you, Bob!
This tiny upstairs room was quite comfortable and convenient for us during our stay in Hastings.
When I was trying to find out more information about the event we were attending in Hastings, Bob went way out of his way to get me the information I needed. It was very kind and most appreciated.

I'm Retired from work and lived in the Hastings area for a large part of my life, so can point you in the right direction which ever way you may want to go. My partner works in London during the week and also speaks mandarin, should you want to practice yours for a future holiday. Interests are many and too varied to list.
we have two private rooms in a beautiful house right in the centre of Hastings. A perfect home from home, situated under the shadow of the castle which was built just after the battle of Hastings. The house was built around 1815, at a time when Hastings was expanding.
It is a convenient base to set out from to visit one of the many country parks the UK has to offer, with its marvelous views of the chalk cliffs and sea.
Or if you prefer the town centre, just five mins walk away for all that shopping, or perhaps hop onto a train to visit Brighton, Rye or the metropolis London, should you require tickets can be booked for unlimited travel on all southern trains.
We are now based in London in the Catford area which is less than 10Km from the centre of London only a 20 min train ride brings you in to Blackfriars, there you can hop on the district and circle lines to travel round London
