Sway gently in the trees and relax in your unique 12 X 24' (288 sq ft) studio treehouse with what one recent guest stated as "a stunning view of the Chugach Mountains!" The Treehouse offers Alaska glamping at its finest for quiet and relaxation.
You may sit around your own covered fire pit (wind and burn restrictions permitting) as well as enjoy your own wood burning stove.
No cleaning fee!
Note: Guests must be able to climb a short, steep incline, then 20 steps of varying heights.
The space
The Treehouse was built by the host, "Grandpa" George, for his grandson after watching "Treehouse Masters." His grandson used it as his bedroom, year-round, for 2 years. After his grandson moved back into the main house, George remodeled the Treehouse and wanted it for his man-cave, but relented to hosting it so that others could experience the beauty of Alaska nature. The cabins and Treehouse overlook the incredible view of the Chugach Range of mountains and are backed up to protected land which hosts Sandhill Cranes in the summer months and moose and eagles year-round. The Treehouse is ideal for nature-lovers! Note: Guests must be able to climb a short, steep incline, then 20 steps of varying heights.
The Treehouse has electric, a microwave, mini-frig, microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, TV (antenna), lights, electric heater for temperature control or wood burning stove. It also has a sink with an unlimited amount of cold water in summer for hand washing (starting Memorial Day or earlier depending on temperatures) months and in winter (Labor Day, depending on temperatures, to Memorial Day) please bring your own drinking water and you might want some extra water for hand washing in the sink. There is a small amount of counter space. While Wifi doesn't reach the Treehouse, your personal phones can be your hotspot. Cleanliness is important to us, so we follow AirBnB's 5 step cleaning process plus inspect our properties when cleaning is finished to offer you the best experience.
Bed arrangements are a queen bed and 3 stacked twin-sized bunk beds with soft, clean linens and comfy mattresses. Triple bunkbed had a middle bunk that might be tight for adults (think Navy ship) but fits kids fine. Being elevated, the Treehouse view is fantastic!
You will most likely be greeted by a sweet, large black dog with one eye that appointed himself as our hospitality chair. His name is Raven. We keep our dogs indoors when needed, so please let us know via app if our dogs are visiting you and we will call them down.
Enjoy your own covered fire pit area (weather and burn permitting). Bring your own wood or some is available from us for a small fee. Cook on a small outdoor charcoal grill in our covered, outdoor mini-"food prep" area. There are only a few basic grill utensils with a small countertop to prepare your meals outside. This outdoor countertop also has a sink during the summer months for hand washing and food preparation.
From Memorial Day to Labor Day (or longer, weather permitting), there is a private, outdoor, detached, enclosed unheated shower house complete with plenty of delicious hot water. Experience using an eco-friendly toilet in its own separate outdoor building. Smoking or 420 outside (only) is fine with us.
The fire pit area has a hard roof with chimney for all-weather, year-round use. Bring some makings for s'more"s or some hot dogs for cooking over the fire pit for a great outdoor experience. There is a small table and chairs for outdoor dining during the summer.
