Where you’ll be

Detroit, Michigan, United States

University District is one of Detroit's most beautiful historic neighborhoods. Most of the homes were built in the 1920's and display the charm of that era. It is very safe (we have private radio patrol security), and all the neighbors are super friendly. It is located near Palmer Park, an large old-growth park great for jogging, walking, bbq's. etc.

We are both academics, artists, and filmmakers. Ben teaches Graphic Design and Julia is getting her PhD in anthropology and currently writing her dissertation on Detroit-- so she's happy to talk all things Detroit if you're interested. We both love the outdoors, making and eating good food, exploring the city, and meeting new people! We're happy to offer suggestions for little known gems to visit in the city of Detroit.
