I have a decent sized double bedroom in a terraced house 3.5 miles to the SW of Sheffield. The room is at the back of the house so is pretty quiet.
The house is around 100 years old and is very well built. Both the internal and external walls have good soundproofing so you should be able to get a good night's sleep.
The house is a 15 to 20 minute bus journey away from the centre of Sheffield in a popular suburb called Woodseats. There is unrestricted on street parking and it's usually easy to find a space near to the property,
In Sheffield you will find many shops, bars, restaurants, bars and cafes.
The house is also conveniently located for visiting the Peak District National Park. The park covers 555 square miles of beautiful English countryside, and despite it's name the landscape generally lacks sharp peaks, and is instead characterised by rounded hills! The park is a paradise for those who enjoy the outdoors and there are many different activities which you can enjoy. We are also conveniently located for visiting Stanage Edge, in the heart of the Park. Stanage Edge is a famous climbing spot, with the highest point reaching 458metres/1503 feet above sea level. From guided ranger walks to horse riding, fell running, climbing and cycling, the park has it all!
Please note that we moved house in June 2013 and the feedback on air bnb prior to this date relates to our previous property. The house is an elevated mid terrace with eight steps up to the front door. If you have mobility issues the accommodation may not be suitable for you.
I am a keen cyclist so can offer advice on exploring the Peak District's quieter roads.
I was given a warm welcome by my hosts, and made to feel one of the family. The room was comfortable and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Not just the room but the whole house was also very clean. Peter communicated well when I got in touch about logistical stuff (I ended up a bit late due to car trouble).
They are a nice couple, and were happy to chat and socialise when they could (I do sometimes talk a lot, so it was good of them!) The parking wasn't a problem either, at least when I was there—there was plenty of room.
I would certainly consider returning to this house, and I can recommend it.
I had a lovely stay in Sheffield, spacious room with every amenity available to me. Peter was incredibly helpful and positive, it was a pleasure to stay here. Breakfast was top class and a great choice of food. Definitely will recommend when in Sheffield again. Thanks!
Peter and his family were really accommodating, especially as my booking was very last minute; and very welcoming when I got there.
The room was very peaceful, and good hot shower.
If I need a short term stay again (for visiting family), I will definitely be back in touch.
Very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, clean and tidy, with a good, hot shower and breakfast and coffee provided.
Lovely couple who were happy to provide local information and even picked us up from the station.
Would be more than happy to stay with them again.
Great host, Good sized room. Comfy bed (double) Very easy process and excellent price. Peter was very accommodating for my hazy arrival time. Location was spot on for my needs. Its a short journey from the train station. There is also a cracking pub at the bottom of the hill, The Lescar.
We stayed for a weekend with Peter for the Climbing Works International Festival. He was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. The flat is in a really nice area of Sheffiled and quite close to nice pubs restaurants and of course very close to the Peak district. The flat was great and it was a bonus to be given breakfast and drinks! Definately beats camping!
Perfect location for me, great to be walking distance form Hunters Bar / Ecclesall road. Hosts were really great as was the flat - slept really well. A very convenient base for a short stay in Sheffield. I felt like I could come and go as I pleased without troubling anyone, which is all I wanted! Highly recommended.
I have a lovely double room available for you. I enjoy cycling in my spare time and can advise you about the good spots in the local Peak District National Park. If you have any questions or queries please feel free to get in touch. I look forward to hearing from you.
