Julie was a great hostess. Very kind! Warm welcome + milk, bread, Welsh-cakes, trampoline and lovely cat just made our stay more beautiful. Lodge was absolutely comfortable, quiet and its position is really close to the Bethesda aesthetic and surrounding area/woods, falls, Dyffry Ogwen, LLyn Ogwen, Glyderau etc./ We have had an amazing time mainly because of this new-nice experience. Next time we should probably bring a car with us thus we can explore beauty of Snowdonia a bit more. Thank you Julie!
Thoroughly enjoyed my Easter weekend at Julie's cottage. Julie was extremely helpful leading up to the trip and whilst our paths never crossed whilst actually there, her husband (Geoff) was equally as friendly and helpful.
The cottage itself was clean, spacious and warm (with a couple of heaters and electric blanket available). Julie had left milk in the fridge, plenty of condiments (coffee/tea/butter, etc..) and some Welsh cakes + chocolate - fantastic!
Only small point is that whilst a new bathroom suite had just been fitted (and the shower was good), there is no hot water tap available on the bathroom sink - so you need to use the shower as a tap. Small point, cannot fault anything else!
The cottage is perfect. It was warm, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The photos do the place justice. Actually the bathroom had been redone before my visit. Everything with the stay wen't very smoothly. I knew all I needed to know, directions were spot on etc.
Julie was a great hostess. She'd even left milk, bread, and welsh-cakes (of which i'm now a huge fan)!
I'm going to be moving to the area this year and will definitely be recommending the cottage to family and friends that come to visit.
We had such a wonderful stay at caban y coed! It is charming and cozy, and had everything we needed during our adventure in Snowdonia. The location is perfect for exploring the mountains or strolling around coastal towns. Julie and Geoff were wonderful hosts! They are warm and welcoming, and they instantly made us feel like friends rather than visitors. We really appreciated how they went the extra mile (literally!) to accommodate us when our travel plans went awry. We would recommend them as hosts to anyone looking for a relaxing stay off the beaten path in North Wales. In fact, we can't wait to be back some day!
Julie is a very friendly and accommodating host. The cottage is very tidy. Fairly basic facilities, but an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia / walking trips. Without the electric heaters running continuously (we went in Feb) it could get draughty, and there is no hot water in the bathroom sink. But very cosy over all, and we loved the electric blanket... We had a great time.
Living in the woods in Snowdonia with husband, two gorgeous boys aged 11 & 14 and 2 crazy cats Ron & Jelly, surrounded by nature and millions of stars overhead. Love meeting open-minded and interesting people and getting to know them over some good food. Love music, art and literature. Heaven is a good rummage around car boot sales or junk shops and finding a gem to bring home. House full of clocks, snowstorms, old tea sets, books, birdfood and fun. Everyone welcome x
