Spacious guest room with single bed and access to private bath available in large, modern country home. Located approximately 10 miles south of Salem, the home is quiet, clean, and welcoming. House includes on-site home gym, is located on a three-acre micro-farm and vineyard.
Independence, Oregon - with coffee shops, restaurants, and movie theatre - is three miles away. Western Oregon University is approximately six miles away. Corvallis is about a 30 minute drive.
Wireless internet, amazing views of the sun setting over the vineyard, and opportunity to feed our very nice menagerie of animals all included in price.
Caveat: house is located near railroad tracks with trains running approximately four to six times per day. During summer months, with windows open, the sound is noticeable.
Amazing people with a beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Dennis and Rachel kindly accommodated my unusually long stay while I searched the Salem area for a permanent home. From the friendly conversations and the delicious dinners to the awesome trail run through a nearby state forest, there was always fun to be had. Their recommendations for local food, shops, and sightseeing were always great and best of all they made my stay comfortable and stress-free. Highly recommended - and doubly so if you enjoy pedal powered transportation!
These folks have created a little piece of heaven for themselves in the middle of farm country. Even better they are willing to share it with travelers! This is also a friendly stop for cyclists needing information or a place to pitch a tent for the night.
I loved the farm animals! The menagerie includes goats, alpacas, chickens, ducks, a sheep and a couple of nifty cats. The red barn is especially iconic.
In the early mornings I could hear the owls calling. At night the constellations were easily seen in the dark country sky.
The hosts were friendly and welcoming and I give them my highest recommendation!

We love to bike, camp, and camp by bike. We're near the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway and initially joined AirBnB because we thought other cyclists would enjoy a place to stop for the night.
