Our Park Slope townhouse is bright & airy. A few minutes walk to hip restaurants, a farmer's market, gourmet groceries, boutique shopping for clothing, jewelry, wine, vintage furniture and Prospect Park. 20 minutes to Manhattan F/G/R trains.
About the neighborhood:
Our 1901 townhouse is located on a pretty, tree-lined block in Park Slope, Brooklyn where everyone knows each other. We are within a few minutes walk of some of the best jazz (Barbes), baguettes (Colson's), boutiques (Bird, Otto, Goldy & Mac), specialty food markets (Russo's, Union Market) and dining (Talde, Fonda, Applewood). You can walk to Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum, Children's Museum or the Prospect Park Zoo.
We are 2 blocks to the F, G & R trains where you can get to the Lower East Side and Soho in 20 minutes. The F will take you to Dumbo, the West Village, Chelsea and Midtown. Hop on the G to get to Fort Greene, Williamsburg and Greenpoint. The R will bring you to Chinatown, Soho, Union Square and further north.
About our house:
The townhouse is a three-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom triplex that is sunny, open and modern. The parlor floor has a sunny living room with a deep down-filled sofa. The kitchen features carrera marble countertops, stainless steel appliances and a vintage mid-century modern dining table that seats 10 when fully extended. There is a half bath with Toto fixtures and carrera marble.
The second floor has two bedrooms and a full bath as well as a washer/dryer unit. One bedroom has bunk beds; we also have a portable crib for babies.
The second bedroom is currently used as a media room and there is a very comfortable and brand new sofa bed that folds open to a full-sized bed (it's the new kind where the cushions open flat rather than pull out a metal frame and folded mattress).
The entire third floor is the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed, exposed beams and brick. Views of lower Manhattan is the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning and the last thing you see when you go to bed at night.
The house has a large flat screen TV with Apple TV as well as wifi. We also provide fresh, soft and cozy sheets and towels for you.
We will leave you with delicious organic coffee, teas, milk, fruit, breads and yogurts for breakfast.
If you have children, we are all set up for them with bunk beds, a portable crib, toys, a high chair, booster seats, and scooters.
Please feel free to have a friend who might be in town come by to check it out. We also speak Spanish and French.
We charge $90/visit so that we may bring in our lovely cleaning person, Lupita, to make sure things are clean and perfect for your arrival as well as to tidy up after you leave. We can be flexible on this if it a one night or weekend rental.
We have often hosted intergenerational families at the house and everyone says it works out really well. The different floors ensure a great deal of privacy and different spaces to be quiet/loud, so lots of people can do different things while all being at home.
Guests will have access to the back deck in the warmer months as well as a BBQ. There is generally lots of staples in the cupboards and refrigerator. Washer and dryer is on the second floor of the house.
Interaction with Guests
We are generally not around as we will likely be away when you come stay at our house. However, we are always very reachable by phone, text and email. In addition we have local people who have extra keys, can come clean, etc.
Our neighborhood is very family-friendly while also being genuinely fun for adults to go out for meals, drinks, music, events. The best that brownstone Brooklyn has to offer is right outside our doors and Manhattan is a short train ride away.
I also love coming home to the green leafy streets after a day of being in Manhattan; it's a great respite.
Very convenient public transportation
Subway lines: F, G, R
Buses: B61, B67, B69
No smoking of any kind inside or outside the house.
No smoking on the deck or the front stairs.
Also, we do not wear our shoes in the house; we would appreciate it if you would take your shoes off when you are in our home (New York City does not have clean sidewalks!).
We also ask that you turn off the lights and close windows before you leave the house for the last time.
Heather left clear instructions and the whole process was very easy. We felt extremly welcome and loved staying in Park Slope. The house is extremely homely, spacious and extremely tastefully furnished. Basically we swapped Tufnell Park for Park Slope and immediately felt at home. Heather left various local recommendations and our girls (aged 4 and 8) loved the bunk bed, the house and the local area. The house is one block from 4th Av and 9th St subway and we whizzed about on the subway into Manhattan and out to Coney Island.
Basically, absolutely no complaints and only gratitude. Communication was great, house was lovely and I would particularly recommend Heather's house in Park Slope to a family like ours.
I can not express what a pleasure it was dealing with Heather and Jeremiah. Their house is lovely; there is even an outside deck for the rare warm day. I highly recommend!
- The townhouse was a great size and had terrific accommodations
- Terrific hosts who were on top of all potential needs
- Would stay again and/or recommend others to do so to
We stayed in Heathers and Jeremiahs very beautifull townhouse during Christmas and New Year. My family was impressed by this amazing place, which was extraordinarly in colours and decoration. It was THE place to be. The house was very comfortable and spacious, perfect located in the middle of Park Slope, close to subways. Heather left presents for us for christmas- it was so lovely and we felt a warm welcome. Any question was quickly answered by SMS and every little problem was solved. Heather provided a lovely breakfast tray with coffee, tea, home-made cookies and informations were we could go. We felt really at home. Thank you.
Everything was perfect with this space and host. Heather gave us a special deal to host my friend's bachelorette party and it was a great success. Everyone was in awe of the house. She was very easy to work with and had quick responses to everything we needed. We got a little loud for the neighbors, but a quick, friendly call from Heather set us right. Thank you for a great experience!
A beautiful townhouse on a quiet street close to the subway. Heather provided a lovely breakfast tray and generously offered food from her refrigerator. Master bed, kids' bunk beds and double air mattress. Probably best for families of fewer than two adults with kids but a wonderful space for kids to sleep, hang out and play. Heather responded quickly to all of my questions but we did not feel secure staying in a home where the lock on the front door was broken. We were told by Heather to try other keys in the lock but the problem was with the lock, not with the keys. The house remained unlocked for our entire stay and we felt that was an unacceptable solution.
We loved staying at Heather's warm, beautifully appointed townhouse in Brooklyn. Her home is conveniently located in the middle of Park Slope, close to subways and all that the neighborhood has to offer. Heather answered all our questions promptly and check-in and check-out were smooth. The home was in perfect shape, with clear directions and tips for guests. We'd certainly like to stay here again.
i work in environmental strategy for a new media company and live in park slope, brooklyn. my husband is a director and native californian. we love new york because our friends are here and our creative work is here but we also love trees, grass and quiet!
