SUNNY ROOM, SEA VIEW & EN-SUITE BATHROOM
THE FREEDOM TO USE OUR LARGE KITCHEN TO MAKE YOUR OWN BREAKFAST
This is a magnificent bedroom with king sized bed and panoramic views overlooking St. Ives Bay and just a short walk from the town centre. There is also a luxury ensuite bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower.
We are situated in a quiet and pleasant location with private parking for guests (something of a rarity in St Ives). If you are travelling by bus or train - we are only a short distance from both the bus and railway stations. If you are walking we are not far from the South West Coast Path.
Our Victorian, former sea captain's house is very spacious with light-flooded rooms laid out on 3 floors, just a stone's throw away and overlooking the beautiful Porthminster beach at St. Ives, making it a perfect location as a beach-side pad, with the huge benefit of on-site parking.
Please bear in mind that we are not a B & B ( we provide a bed but not breakfast! ). This is our home and you are welcome to make use of our kitchen facilities to store and prepare breakfast and snacks. In addition, there are many lovely places to enjoy breakfast within walking distance.
WiFi / Linen and towels included.
Our house is the ideal base from which to explore St Ives and the surrounding area. After a few minutes' walk down the road you'll find yourself in the heart of the town. Spend an afternoon meandering around the maze of winding cobbled streets (affectionately known as the 'downalong') and you'll see that there are delights to discover around almost every corner. A wealth of interesting independent shops, cafes and artists' studios line the streets leading down to the town's ancient harbour, where you can still watch the local fishing boats unloading their catch at high tide. Take a boat trip out to Seal Island to watch the Atlantic Grey seals lounging on the rocks and enjoy fantastic views of the coast and Godrevy Lighthouse, or try your hand at fishing on a traditional Cornish lugger.
And of course, there's the art. The Tate St Ives - art gallery - the flagship of Cornish art - and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Gardens, together with a plethora of small independent galleries, are all within easy walking distance.
A walk in the opposite direction along the scenic Cornish Coast Path to Lelant (and beyond) allows you to take in plenty of fresh sea air, as well as outstanding views of the rugged cliffs, glorious beaches and lush greenery that make up the unique coastline here. If your feet get tired, you can return on the branch line from Lelant. Hugging the cliff edge and offering unparalleled views of the bay and Godrevy Lighthouse, this is probably one of the most spectacular train journeys in Britain (and it stops at Porthminster beach).

Amazing location in a delightful and quiet road with the added bonus of parking so close to the centre of town. A warm and friendly welcome from the hosts. A fabulous stay in a beautiful home. Tapas recommendation for dinner was a great result. Thank you so much.
The room was absolutely beautiful, and so cosy. The view from the room through the grand windows was lovely. Carolyn and Jim were really friendly and (website hidden) Ive's had the folk festival, which was really good fun, and this room was a great place to chill out at the end of the day.
The best Airbnb I have ever stayed in Absolutely wonderful. Everything perfect. Can't wait to come bac
Carolyn and Jim are the nicest people. Thankyou so much for your hospitality
Carolyn and Jim went out of their way to meet us at the train station--even though our train was late. They even dropped us back at the station when we left. This is a great location and a beautiful property with a wonderful view of the coast. As hosts, they could not be nicer. The room and ensuite bath are beautiful and comfortable. We found everything to be in a reasonable walking distance and bus service in Cornwall is (website hidden). Ives is a holiday town and has many good restaurants and things to do.
Carolyn and Jim were very welcoming hosts and were open to chatting with me about my travels. They kindly provided a map, which had restaurant recommendations (including the one I tried for tapas). The room was lovely and the Nespresso and bottle of milk were appreciated. Their home is very close to the train station and the beach, as well as being near a bus stop, which Carolyn helped me figure out the times for. Next time I'll have to stay longer!
Beautiful room in a fantastic location very close both to town and to Porthminster beach... with wonderful sea views! We couldn't rate it any higher!
Carolyn & Jim are great hosts - providing us with great recommendations, a helpful map and some extra special touches in the room to make us feel at home (fresh flowers and milk in the fridge etc)
There is little to stay but WOW! Boutique hotel quality, tremendous value and super friendly hosts - and to cap it all, only a 5 min walk from one of the best beaches in the UK.
The room is EXACTLY as photographed: elegant and extremely comfortable. The view from the room (and indeed the bathroom) is glorious and it was a real treat to wake up to a panoramic sea view. Relaxing with a coffee (made from an espresso machine in the room) in the comfortable leather tub chairs looking out to sea was also a relaxing treat.
Carolyn and Jamie couldn't have been more accommodating; they let us drop our bags off at 0815 on the day of our check in. They gave us some good recommendations abut what to see and where to go and even lent us a bucket and spade for the beach.
We couldn't have asked for me and will definitely be back. All that remains is to say a warm thank you to our hosts.
I live in St Ives with my husband James and two cats. We love living here by the sea and spend any spare time walking along the coastal paths enjoying the glorious scenery. We enjoy tending our garden and vegetable patch, playing tennis and yoga and visiting the many great restaurants to enjoy the fresh local produce.
