If ever you find yourself needing a place to hang your hat for a few days in Cuenca, I cannot imagine a better place than Cameron's BNB. The architecture of this place is astounding and very well laid out. Cameron is an amazing hostess with the most precious canine buddies I have ever encountered! I was a guest for five nights, from start to finish my stay was very memorable. I can't wait to do it again!!
Highly recommend this Cuenca home and host for your stay in Ecuador. A gracious, knowledgeable host that provides a very comfortable, clean home with your own private living space. The location is perfect for anyone desiring to walk along the river into the central park square area, shopping for your own groceries, or dining out at local restaurants.
I spent two weeks at Cameron's Charming House. The accommodations were excellent. The private room and bath were immaculate with plenty of hot water and the bed could not have been more comfortable. Cameron was the perfect host. It was like having your personal concierge and tour guide. She knows all the local places and the extensive ex pat community. She makes you feel right at home and part of the community. Plus, she is a great cook! I even enjoyed her two friendly dogs.
Cameron is a wonderful host. Even before I arrived she was sending me info about upcoming events in Cuenca and offering to make reservations for me. She has a lovely roomy house, and I felt at home immediately. Cameron is also a fountain of information about Cuenca and the surrounding area. I definately would recommend her and her home.
The location is great, the place is huge and nicely furnished. Cameron is very nice and easy to get along with, and she bends over backwards to help you.
We planned our visit to Cuenca to experience life away from home. We were lucky to find Cameron and her cozy home. Our 30 days seemed short as we felt at home. Cameron's kindest, caring and friendly persona definitely made a difference for us. Cameron was available to refer us to some of her contacts as well as recommended several places for us to visit. Her home is conveniently located near the market, laundromat, restaurants and the bus stop; one of the best neighborhoods in the city and two blocks from the Tomebamba river...beautiful and relaxing! Cannot wait to go back!
I had a very nice ten day stay at Cameron's home in Cuenca, Ecuador. The home is very well located and offered a great base to explore the surrounding area. It was also very comfortable and quiet at night. Cameron was a warm and helpful host and was very generous with her time showing me around town, introducing me to various restaurants, and assisting me with finding real estate options for a move to Cuenca. Overall she was a large part of my successful exploratory trip. I would highly recommend her and her home.
I thought my stay with Cameron was outstanding. The room with private bath was as advertised and the breakfasts were very good. Cameron went out of her way to introduce me to some expats at two different dinner groups and invited some in for card games. I had come to Cuenca to look at real estate and after I had left she heard of a condo for sale and went to see it and took pictures to send me. I thought that was exceptionally nice. Thank you Cameron.
I simply cannot say enough good things about Cameron.... she is a wonderful, caring, helpful, generous, warm, sincere hostess. She met me at the airport to take me to her lovely home on the north end of town. Her place near the rushing river in a residential neighborhood is close to bus stops that can take you everywhere and yet not too far from Old Town Cuenca for a nice walk. The complete breakfast she provides makes this stay a very reasonable price.
Cameron does speak Spanish (unlike myself) and helped me several times to plan or arrange a day trip. She is very knowlegable about the area and the best ways to go someplace. She also introduced me to many of the ex-pat community members among whom she is well known.
You just can't go wrong by electing to stay with this genuinely accommodating hostess!
What a great find! Cameron is a SUPERB host, and her home is absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. The room is EXTREMELY comfortable. There is plenty of hot water in the shower, and the water pressure is fantastic. The bed was extremely comfortable. She has a large kitchen that makes it a breeze during meal preparation. She is great for tips about the area and is part of many social activities that you may get to join her for. We initially booked for 3 days but ended up extending for a full week.
The house is a little bit out of the downtown area, but that was a plus in my book. It's a very quiet neighborhood, and you are still within an easy walk of the big mercado (open air market), a supermarket, and smaller shops as well as restaurants where locals eat.
You really can't beat the price or the property, and definitely you shouldn't miss out on Cameron's hospitality. Even her pets (a cat and a dog) are warm and welcoming.
