About This Listing
Quiet, village location , own car advisable, peaceful household with dog, share bathroom and kitchen. Ideally placed for people exploring Oxford, Stratford on Avon and the Cotswolds. Handy for temporary workers at JLR and Aston Martin.
I have a lovely, quiet double room in a private house, which is available for you to stay in.
Your room overlooks the garden and beyond that a strip of woodland, very pretty in summer and interesting birds and squirrels in winter! The room is simple but warm and welcoming. There ia a decent sized and very comfortable double bed, a chest of drawers and a compactum. The house has central heating throughout. There is a shared modern bathroom with a bath and shower. Please note that you must be able to tolerate a large dog in the house, she is young and foolish but learning manners, hopefully one day will be as well-mannered as our dear Rose, who passed away last year. Please don't book if you are allergic to dogs.
The house enjoys a quiet situation, is easy to find, has off-street parking, and is detached. Use of the kitchen for breakfast and evening meal is a matter for co-operation! There is a pub that does meals at the bottom of the road and also a good fish and chip shop.
Bishops Itchington itself is a lovely village, approximately 6.5 miles from Leamington Spa. In the village you will find the post office, local pub, and the church. Just outside the village you will find the "Bishop's Bowl," which comprises five lakes on a 100 acres complex, and offers a wide range of fish. There are lovely places to walk within a short drive and all amenities, shops, cinemas etc in Leamington Spa, approx. 6 miles away. There is a bus service from the centre of the village, ten minutes walk away.
Guests have access to their bedroom, shared bathroom, kitchen, living room, garden. In summer there is a pleasant decked area with table and chairs.
Interaction with Guests
Depends on what the guest would like. I live here, so guests are sharing my home. If they are busy, I leave them alone - if friendly, I enjoy a chat.
We are in lovely countryside and within easy reach of lovely towns like Stratford on Avon and Royal Leamington Spa. We are in the middle of the motorway network in the middle of the UK - so easy access from any direction.
There is a (rural) bus service from the village and the railway station is around 6 miles away in Leamington. Guests can be picked up from the station or from Birmingham or East Midlands airports by arrangement.
This is a non-smoking house - prefer non-smokers but smokers allowed provided they confine their activities to the great outdoors! Smoking indoors strictly not allowed
A small, well-behaved pet could be allowed - subject to discussion beforehand. Must be able to get along with Cookie.
While we normally undertake short bookings, longer bookings can be accepted in the case of people working in or moving to the area.
Anne is a very friendly and helpful host. She is willing to adapt her home in order to make guests feel comfortable. It is in a quiet neighbourhood within a short distance of shops and the tourist attractions of Leamington and Southam. Cookie is a large dog but as I followed Anne's instructions Cookie was perfectly well behaved.
Anne was very nice and helpful during my 1 week stay in bishop Itchington. She even took me with her car from Leamington because the busses were not working on Sunday. Her house is very nice and her 2 dogs are wonderful ( also well trained). I strongly recommend Anne's accomodation for everyone who will visit the area or who will work for JLR in Gaydon. It is the best place to stay if you temporarily work in Gaydon as it is very close to be reached by car.
Another great stay at Anne's. This was my second stay after September 2013. Anne is really nice and accommodating. Cookie is really cute and is now listening much more than she was. The latest addition of Bobby makes for a really lively and happy house. Would highly recommend the place to anyone who starts a job in the area or someone just looking for a quiet and cosy accommodation.
Anne was very welcoming and instantly made me feel comfortable and at home. The room is spacious and comfortable and was the perfect place to stay whilst I was looking for a new home. The pub at the end of the road was a good place to chill out after work and get some food.
Anne was absolutely lovely and is a total dear. She has a wonderful dog, who is very friendly and extremely well behaved. Anne made me feel at home and was extremely accommodating. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone thinking of staying. We have lovely chats and our conversations made me not miss my family as much whilst I was away. The house was very clean and tidy. I definitely recommend staying with Anne.
Anne is a lovely person! She is always ready to help you and make you feel comfortable. Her house is beautiful and tidy. The neighbourhood is calm and quiet.
