Quiet, village location , own car advisable, peaceful household with dog, share bathroom and kitchen. Ideally placed for people exploring Oxford, Stratford on Avon and the Cotswolds. Handy for temporary workers at JLR and Aston Martin.
I have a lovely, quiet double room in a private house, which is available for you to stay in.
Your room overlooks the garden and beyond that a strip of woodland, very pretty in summer and interesting birds and squirrels in winter! The room is simple but warm and welcoming. There ia a decent sized and very comfortable double bed, a chest of drawers and a compactum. The house has central heating throughout. There is a shared modern bathroom with a bath and shower. Please note that you must be able to tolerate a large dog in the house, she is young and foolish but learning manners, hopefully one day will be as well-mannered as our dear Rose, who passed away last year. Please don't book if you are allergic to dogs.
The house enjoys a quiet situation, is easy to find, has off-street parking, and is detached. Use of the kitchen for breakfast and evening meal is a matter for co-operation! There is a pub that does meals at the bottom of the road and also a good fish and chip shop.
Bishops Itchington itself is a lovely village, approximately 6.5 miles from Leamington Spa. In the village you will find the post office, local pub, and the church. Just outside the village you will find the "Bishop's Bowl," which comprises five lakes on a 100 acres complex, and offers a wide range of fish. There are lovely places to walk within a short drive and all amenities, shops, cinemas etc in Leamington Spa, approx. 6 miles away. There is a bus service from the centre of the village, ten minutes walk away.
Guests have access to their bedroom, shared bathroom, kitchen, living room, garden. In summer there is a pleasant decked area with table and chairs.
Interaction with Guests
Depends on what the guest would like. I live here, so guests are sharing my home. If they are busy, I leave them alone - if friendly, I enjoy a chat.
We are in lovely countryside and within easy reach of lovely towns like Stratford on Avon and Royal Leamington Spa. We are in the middle of the motorway network in the middle of the UK - so easy access from any direction.
There is a (rural) bus service from the village and the railway station is around 6 miles away in Leamington. Guests can be picked up from the station or from Birmingham or East Midlands airports by arrangement.
This is a non-smoking house - prefer non-smokers but smokers allowed provided they confine their activities to the great outdoors! Smoking indoors strictly not allowed
A small, well-behaved pet could be allowed - subject to discussion beforehand. Must be able to get along with Cookie.
While we normally undertake short bookings, longer bookings can be accepted in the case of people working in or moving to the area.
Anne was very welcoming and instantly made me feel comfortable and at home. The room is spacious and comfortable and was the perfect place to stay whilst I was looking for a new home. The pub at the end of the road was a good place to chill out after work and get some food.
Anne was absolutely lovely and is a total dear. She has a wonderful dog, who is very friendly and extremely well behaved. Anne made me feel at home and was extremely accommodating. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone thinking of staying. We have lovely chats and our conversations made me not miss my family as much whilst I was away. The house was very clean and tidy. I definitely recommend staying with Anne.
Thank you for the accommodation, Anne! Very comfortable and calm environment for my first week at a new job! Very friendly host and easy going.
Anne is a lovely person! She is always ready to help you and make you feel comfortable. Her house is beautiful and tidy. The neighbourhood is calm and quiet.
I had a wonderful stay with Anne and Cookie, Anne's wonderful dog. The house is a beautiful, quite and extremely welcoming place and the room was very comfortable. The facilities were excellent and I was made to feel very much at home.
Anne was the model host - friendly, interested in me and willing to share, but also understanding that personal space is important.
I wasn't staying for a holiday so I can't comment on the surrounding area, but I can highly recommend Anne's house as an excellent place to stay.
We were made to feel very welcome even though our hostess was ill and due to go to hospital the day we arrived. She was most accomodating and gave us freedom to use the kitchen...after hotel rooms while we await and apartment it was such a joy to be able to cook, freely, in a clean modern kitchen. Our room was very comfortable and the bathroom with a power shower great. We would not hesitate to recommend Anne's bright double room and of course her entire home and hospitatlity. Thank you Anne and may your recovery be speedy. Best wishes Christine and Haile
