Description

The Space

Nice room available in a comfortably decorated, well maintained home within walking distance of a pretty market town. The house is quite large, with a big conservatory, patio and garden. The majority of rooms have tiled or wooden styled floors, whilst the first floor is mainly carpeted.

We have one bedroom available, which is very simply furnished (bed, drawer unit, bedside cabinet, cupboard space, hanging rail for shirts and skirts and a leather armchair) and a small en suite, consisting of a shower, Villeroy basin and toilet. Please note, there is no TV or radio in the room but please use one of the TVs on the ground floor. It is in the first floor loft conversion and therefore the ceilings are sloping and quirky; a VELUX window lights the room. Whilst no desk is in the room, should you need one, we can lend you a small table or you are welcome to use the desk just outside your room.

It's one of the nicest suburban residential area in the area: a fairly quiet road, yet within a 25 minute walk of the pretty market town centre (decent shopping and nightlife incl. multi-screen cinema) and even closer to miles of open fields.

It's easy to reach the main commuter routes of the A50, A500 and M6. We're around 30 miles from Manchester and Birmingham. Bus stops are within a short walk.
This is also a great place to stay if you need to reach the University of Keele, North Staffs Hospital (both within walking distance) or Staffs University, the latter of which does need a car (or patience to reach by bus, being only 3 miles or so ATCF, but 3 bus changes). There are a couple of friendly, family orientated pubs within 5 or 10 minutes walk, serving meals and a convenience store. Bus routes are within a short walk.
We do have "on the drive" parking if you're bringing a car. There are a few local car rental places if you need to hire one.
Stoke train station is about 3 miles away and Manchester airport is approx. 35 miles. Depending on work schedules and flight times, it may be possible to pick you up from a local airport. Please email for approximate costs.

I've been told that we are in an excellent position for people wanting to visit Alton Towers.

We are busy people but we'd be really pleased to assist if you needed help or advice. You'd be more than welcome to sit and chat over a cup of coffee - we'd love to listen! Come and have a meal.

Guest Access

Dining room, kitchen, conservatory and garden.
We don't serve breakfast, as such, but are happy to purchase for you some essential items if you let us know what you would like and there is almost always bread, milk and cereal.

House Rules

We do not accept smoking in the house. Please use the bins for debris.
Space is made available for storage of food you may wish to buy and other provisions in the kitchen. We do not, as a rule, serve breakfast due to local council rules about premises serving food. We'd be welcome to offer coffee and tea or fruit squash; there's almost always milk, basic cereal and bread available in the morning, although they're not specifically nut, dairy or gluten free, and we can purchase for you some essential items if you let us know what you'd like.

You are welcome to use the landline. Please ask if you do wish to make a call. Costs are available upon request and should be paid for at the end of the call.

An additional security deposit will be required for guests who require a key, payable upon arrival. There is, however, frequently a member of the family in the house and there may be no need for a key.
