Beautiful queen suite with private bathroom in quiet, clean, modern home. Pool, breakfast, lake, laundry, wifi, parking etc.
Thank you Airbnb photographer - the downstairs suite looked dark in my photograph and it is so light!
This large quiet house has three master suites. This suite is the queen suite, a large, light, (non-smoking) suite in a very peaceful setting, with pool, lake and full breakfasts, wifi, extended cable television and en-suite bathroom (shower).
The bed in this suite is a queen size, with a new high-quality mattress. There is a small couch which can become a sleeper couch, and new desk. The suite is separated from the rest of the house by a small foyer and is quiet and private.
The area is very peaceful, next to a small lake, with pool, guest lounge and dining room, and beautiful patio ("lanai"). Breakfast, tea and coffee are always available, and the wifi is fast and highly reliable.
A second, large king suite is available.
This suite is very private, but guests often relax in the downstairs lounge or outside. The couch turns into a small sleeper if an extra person sleeps in the room. There is extended cable, including many sports channels and HBO. The TV set is new.
There is a well-equipped laundry room with washer and dryer, washing powder etc.
Guests often use the main kitchen. Breakfast is included. Sometimes they make their own breakfasts, and sometimes they like us to cook for them - it's always a comfortable arrangement. Our medical guests often have special needs and we accommodate these happily.
The house is in pristine condition and the area is quiet. There are restaurants, a coffee bar, pharmacy, post office etc and other stores with easy walking distance, and there is a bus close by, but one really needs a car in Tampa Bay. Public transit is not great. There are several malls "close by" in Tampa Bay terms - i.e. a 10 - 15 minute drive.
We believe that this accommodation is best suited to adults, or older teens, and probably suits business, medical, academic, and international visitors, golfers, university parents, new students going to college etc.
The house is relatively close to USF and to many major medical centers like Moffitt and close to the I75-Bruce B Downs off-ramp.
We have met with the Lodging Committee at Moffitt and are trying to build more community connections between medical facilities and our diverse communities, to support American and International visitors to Tampa Bay.
We're also experts on Tampa Bay business (and international business) and are both deeply involved in volunteer economic development work. We have extensive experience of international visitors, and love to share our the region with them..
We train cultural fluency and soft landings for international trade, and have multiple contacts in the business worlds of the area. This knowledge can be useful to visitors and we share it freely.
Pool, Laundry, Kitchen, Guest Lounge and Dining Room, Lanai next to Pool.
Interaction with Guests
As much as they like or need.
No smoking in the house. Smoking okay at the pool but please empty ashtrays.
Please tidy up the kitchen if you use it to cook. Also help yourself to tea, coffee, etc during the day or ask if you need anything. We offer a beer or wine in the evening.
Hilton is the expert on all the TV things. He will help out if you can't find the program you want.
Please just ask if you need anything for laundry. All the detergents etc are there, but if you need advice about which program is best to use etc, just let Glynis know.
Each bathroom has a closet with extra towels, linens etc. When your towels need replacing, just put them on the basket outside the laundry room and take new ones from your bathroom closet.
Please let Glynis know if you need pool towels.
Please park outside the single garage door.
There will be bottled water, glasses etc in your suite. If you need more or more soaps, toiletries etc, please just say so.
5 STARS Simply Wonderful
I have stayed at 20 Airbnb's in the last 2 years and and this by far the best.
I understand why they are considered SUPER HOSTS.
Mr and Mrs Munro made me feel at ease and at home, from the first moment we met.
I want to say staying here is a PRIVILEGE and a sincere thank you for everything.
I've never felt more at home. Staying here was the best experience I've had using AirBnB. The couple was warm, welcoming and very accommodating. I'll never forget my stay here. Thank you!
I can only hope that all hosts are as pleasant and helpful as Hilton and Glynis are. The queen suite was as described ( they have a lovely home in a very nice neighborhood ) and the breakfast was more than I could have hoped for.
My first time using air B&B was a very good one thanks to the Munros..
Stayed with Hilton and Glynis for 5 nights and I could not have asked for a warmer or kinder reception. They are excellent hosts and made my stay very enjoyable and relaxing. I was treated like one of the family and since this was my first experience using AirB&B, I was certainly very pleased. Breakfast was ready for me every morning with an assortment of items. There was more than enough choices and of course coffee was always waiting.
The whole atmosphere was very relaxing and was exactly what I needed. Hilton and Glynis are very knowledgeable of the area and very helpful with directions or advise on places to go.
If and when I come back to the Tampa area, I would love the opportunity of staying at this listing again.
My wife and I just left Hilton and Glynnis after four delightful nights. One could not ask for more gracious hosts. It was like visiting your favorite relatives or best friends. They create a relaxed and welcoming environment. The suite was perfect and private. We could not have asked for more. They also laid out an array of breakfast items and were invited to cook eggs as we like them which we did. They have set the standard for what an Airbnb place should be.
We stayed 2 nights in this wonderful property. From the moment we arrived we had big smiles. Hilton and wife Glynis are perfect hosts: they'll make you feel welcome as if you're a long-lost friend, helping you generously and being just really lovely and intersting persons to talk to.
The neighborhood was a delightful quiet area. The house is very close to stores and dining which is great and very convenient. The room and bathroom were perfect and as described. The breakfast was really fantastic and better than you can get in a hotel: coffee or tea, juice, fresh fruits salad, jogurt, eggs, croissants, bagels or toast as much as you want.
We felt really like AT HOME! We hope that we will see us again. Thank you so much Glynis and Hilton.
Beautiful home with wonderful guest suite, better than a 5 star hotel!
Home is situated in an upscale neighborhood great for walking for exercise or just to go to the nearby shopping centers where there are some very good restaurants. The lanai out back is wonderful and peaceful. Make sure you spend some time out there listening to the birds, enjoying the pool, or closing your eyes and resting.
The hosts are lovely, friendly people who obviously love hosting strangers in their home. They certainly don't make you feel like strangers.

Hilton and Glynis were born in South Africa, have traveled six continents, and love Tampa Bay. Hilton retired from law when we came to the US and helps Glynis with her training company.
Our sons have grown up, and their suites are empty so we began by welcoming international students and found that we enjoyed this. We also hosted Moffitt patients and visitors after Glynis' father passed away from cancer.
We heard about Airbnb/Crashpadders from the Irish Chamber of Commerce. We saw a way to share local knowledge with visitors. We can help visitors to Tampa Bay to understand the regional business community and economy, and to make business contacts, and we are experts on how to enjoy Tampa Bay.
We still host cancer patients with minimal immune challenges (and we clean things ourselves to meet the requirements). We hope to interest others in the International Community in opening their homes to international business people, and to those visiting medical and academic/educational centers in the region (Moffitt, CAMLs etc.)
