About This Listing
Looking for an entire house to have to yourself near trendy Main Street? My beautiful home is 12 years old and on a quiet residential street within an easy walk of restaurants, shops and public transit.
It has two bedrooms with queen-sized beds (both with private baths), a downstairs half-bath, living room, den/office, great kitchen with gas stove and 2 sinks, and a nice, shady patio garden. It has high ceilings and lots of windows, so it's bright and airy.
The house is three blocks from Main Street, an area with lots of shops and restaurants. Queen Elizabeth Park, Van Dusen Gardens, Nat Bailey Stadium (home of our great single-A baseball club) and a brand-new community centre with pool and rink (former Olympic facility) are a short walk away. It's also a short drive or transit ride to downtown, and you're within a few minutes' walk to several bus lines, one of which takes you to the rapid-transit Canada Line.
Laundry facilities and all utilities (hydro, gas, cable and high-speed internet) included, as well as sheets, towels, hair dryer and other amenities. Ample on-street parking.
This is a non-smoking home in a quiet neighbourhood and no parties are permitted. Maximum four guests per visit. Please note, this house is not suitable for families with children under the age of 6.
Two ensuite bathrooms (one 5-piece, one 3-piece) and one half bath. Fenced back yard. Fully equipped kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
If I am not able to greet you personally, I will leave lots of information about the house as well as emergency contacts. I will always be available for questions or concerns via email.
This is a great neighbourhood if you like to walk to shops, grocery stores, restaurants, parks and recreational facilities. I also love that it's quick and easy to get downtown, to the airport and to other parts of the greater Vancouver airport by car, bus or rapid transit.
Close to downtown and to four bus lines, as well as to the Canada Line (subway) to downtown and airport.
No smoking in the house, please. Absolutely no parties or other activities that may disturb neighbours — this home is in a quiet family neighbourhood. Pets may be allowed, but upon explicit approval only, so please ask before you finalize your booking.
Maximum of 4 people sharing 2 bedrooms. No kids under the age of 8 — house isn't suitable for young children.
Please be considerate and leave the house reasonably clean and tidy.
We could not have hoped for a better place to stay in Vancouver. Joanne's home is located in a quiet neighbourhood, but near everything, centrally located. The house is bright, with lots of windows, high ceilings, skylights. It is immaculately clean, elegant, new and modern. Joanne had made sure that we missed nothing: paper towels, sheets, towels, extra pillows, plankets, shampoo, soap, detergents...there was everything.
As the house is her home, it is not the typical "rental", but a beautiful house you feel priviledged to be invited to stay.
Our second stay at Joanne's lovely home lived up to our recollections from last year: the home, its facilities and location are ideal. We stayed a full week and had a wonderful time again. It is quiet, yet so near both Main Street and Fraser. The whole layout of the house and patio garden are just what we look for. And, Joanne is a tremendous host. We couldn't ask for better for our Vancouver visit. Also, another previously unidentified feature of Joanne's dining room is that the acoustics are ideal for flute and guitar duets. What more could anyone ask for?! And, for any vegetarian reading this, there is a really good Chinese vegetarian restaurant on Fraser, just a few blocks North - Bodhi Choy.
Thank you, Joanne.
Back at the same place again after a couple of months. Still the perfect place!
Back to this great place for the second year in a row. This time, I brought the whole family (my wife and dog) and is was just as perfect as last year! Check out my previous review for more details.
We wanted somewhere comfortable, clean and quiet so that we could visit family members in Vancouver. But neither of us really likes hotel room accommodation and we like to see to our own food. So we decided to try airbnb.
This was our first time with airbnb and we were a bit apprehensive. But, my goodness, what a wonderful find Joanne's home turned out to be: clean, spacious, well-equipped and beautifully situated: convenient, yet quiet. There is a lovely, private backyard that is ideal for an informal meal or an afternoon's reading.
Joanne has been an excellent host, checking that we had everything we needed and providing extremely helpful tips and information about the house and neighbourhood.
Our first experience with airbnb has set an incredibly high bar for other places to measure up to.
We will definitely go back. Thank you Joanne!
What a blast! Listing was accurately portrayed on the website and was even better in person. The photos were nice as well. Joanne was very informative and helpful both before and during our stay (she left highly detailed instructions as she was out of the country) and everything was in great working order. Awesome location and very quiet with great street parking! A GREAT BANG for the buck, I would definitely rent here again!
We also want to mention our dogs were very comfortable here, and we appreciate the dog bed and dishes you left for us! Thanks, again, Joanne!
Joanne's home was even better than the description. She was very kind to meet us upon our arrival. She left us detailed notes about her home as well as information about local attractions and transportation. It was delightful to be able to open the tall doors out onto the back garden each evening. Many stores and attractions were within walking distance or easily accessible by the bus and subway. We had a great, relaxing time and would definitely recommend Joanne's home to anyone wanting to visit Vancouver, Canada.
