Welcome to The Mauna Loft in Downtown Hilo. Hanging king bed . Stone and tile shower, clawfoot tub and seating on a private lanai with garden views. Greeter fee may be assessed if checking in after 8pm. Free street parking.

The space
Generous spacious loft with stainless counter, small fridge and electric kettle (plus fresh organic coffee, milk or tea) is provided.
All linens provided including beach towels.
Features: Cal King Bed, clawfoot tub and walk in shower.
This unit stays fairly cool. It is an 'eco stay' jungle retreat. There are two electric outlets for this loft & wiring is minimal. There is no wifi in the unit. One personal fan is provided.

Guests expected to observe all local county and state guidelines in place to reduce infection risk to the community.

Guests should communicate with hosts prior to reserving space if they will be arriving after 9pm. Guests may be charged an additional fee of $20 if arriving after 9pm. If arriving after 11pm the fee is $30. Guests are asked to communicate in advance if they will be arriving after 9pm.

It also should be noted that there is some noise coming from the newspaper operation next door to this unit that occurs at infrequent times on occasion during night hours. This is beyond our control and not easily predicted so we feel it is best to warn guests in advance.

In addition, a small nocturnal tree frog ('the coqui' frogs) are on the property. Some 'bugs' also since this is Hawaii and the studio is in a natural garden setting.

Downtown Hilo is home to a great farmers market, many family owned restaurants and several cafes and charming bars. Hilo has 2 supermarkets, a health food store and a 24 hour drug store close by. Hilo also has a paved bike path leading over to Hilo's black sand beach and to the charming neighborhood of Banyan drive : the site of a number of hotels, a small island park and a formal japanese garden.
