Interaction with Guests
Noami our housekeeper/cook will prepare lunch and supper upon request. Breakfast is $5.00 Lunch and supper you make arrangements directly with Noami. That is her business. Car rental and Frank our English speaking driver/tour guide will take you where you want to go. Again you deal directly with Frank. Erick our manager is available to help make you stay perfect. Transport to and from the Cibao International airport (10 minute drive) is available or the Caribe Tours Bus Terminals.
A cafeteria and colmodo are within walking distance. Our neighbors are friendly and most are family. Tono our house sitter lives on Sana in his own private accomodations separate from the house. So there is always someone there. Noami/Frank/Erick and Jose the gardener arrive at 8 am.
Erick will taxi guests or provide a trusted taxi for you. Public buses, motoconchos, and we can get you reasonable car rental.
Other Things to Note
Sana offers car rental and day trips to a beach where you can eat fresh fish and not be bothered by the crush of tourism. You can go fishing with a local fisherman, snorkel Sand Island, and attempt the 27 Waterfalls or just stay on SANA and decompress.
Relax and enjoy the quiet of the gardens and the swing of the hammocks. (my favorite pastime).
This is a very nice tucked away place. The environment and gardens are great. The people there are even better. Even though we arrived late we were still greeted with friendly faces and hospitality.

About the Host, Sharon
I am a Canadian travel dialysis nurse, who has been to Saudi Arabia, Hawaii, British Columbia, all across the US and have been blessed to have SANA.
When I was in Yemen and stayed in Sanaa, (Arabic name meaning brilliant, radiance). I thought what a nice name, and that it could one day stand for Sharon Ann Nickerson and Associates, which now it does.
SANA also means healthy in Spanish. El Jardin Secreto (the Secret Garden) from the book, where an abandoned garden is transformed into a thing of natural beauty. SANA was a barren piece of property in 1993. The owners dismantled their wooden house and took it with them when they sold. The property has been transformed into the garden it is today, with love and patience and lots of trial and error. SANA has had the privilege to host physically and mentally challenged individuals as well as missionary groups while they are completing the charitable missions in our area. Youth in transit while backpacking or on lay over into and out of Haiti. Birthday parties and family reunions.!
The SANA Crew consists of Erick Rodriguez our manager, Frank our English/Spanish speaking driver and tour guide, and Noami our housekeeper and cook. SANA is cooperative, the Crew is there for you, and work directly for you.
Tono is our house sitter and lives on the gated property at the back of the house.
Oh yes, and Amber and Amberita and Ambi, our friendly dogs are part of our crew as well.
My motto: Think Good Thoughts, They Become YOU.
Go up there before sun sets and see the view of Santiago from the mountain, as it does. Good Food too.
Climb the stairs to the top and have a panaramic view of the city
Lovely old buildings
Very physical water adventure great fun
Watch the Manatees, lazy in the shallow water, rent a kayack and get real close
My favorite place to find unspoiled beaches, and eat fresh caught fish prepared right there on the beach. Still untouched by the tourist crush.
