The Dutch Touch captures the best Woodstock has to offer. Be in the Village and secluded at the same time!
This Woodstock treasure is surrounded by gardens, with Monet-worthy views, peaceful mountains and swaying pines. It’s your cozy and peaceful home away from home, yet only a short, pretty walk to the very center of the village.
Dutch Touch is the "brain-child" of artist, Manette van Hamel, an early Woodstock arts colony resident whose work is held in the permanent collection of the Met.
The kind of place one would expect an artist to build:
Perfect for a romantic get-a-way or solo retreat. Recline on your own deck beside a sparkling stream, soak up the sun, read a good book, or walk into town and visit the galleries and shops, or zip up the mountain for hikes, a visit to the Buddhist Monastery or a tour of the Byrdcliffe arts colony. Winter visitors will love the open fireplace, and the fresh winter scent of forest, hearth and home.
There is parking in the driveway
We do not interact with the guests. Just to say hello and goodbye, and make sure they know to let us know if they need anything.
The cottage is walking distance from town. There are neighbors, but the place is totally private, and away from the road.
There is a bus from NYC that drops you off in the center of Woodstock. A 10 minute walk up the road.
We supply towels, clean sheets on the bed.
Some coffee Tea, sugar, salt, pepper. Just the basics.

I spent a few days here and it was a peaceful long weekend. The center of the town is just 5 minutes away and it is pretty easy to get to cooper lake and some great hiking trails.
The place was cleaned and Martine was extremely nice.
Lovely, charming cottage. Pictures do it justice. Take a moment and read The Flamboyant Tree while you visit. Makes the experience truly come alive.
Thanks for sharing a small piece of your home with us.
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay
We had a wonderful time. Such a lovely cottage. Calm, quiet... I can highly recommend it :)
Staying at the Dutch Touch in Woodstock was wonderful. The cottage was clean and cozy and exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend away from the city. The fireplace made the entire experience and it was so convenient that Martine had a stock of wood for our use. Although the cottage is a quick drive or walk to town it was very quiet and perfect for relaxing. Thank you so much for the experience and cannot wait to come back in the summer!
Very private even though there are other homes nearby.
I appreciated the extra wood available for the amazing fireplace.
We had a lovely weekend in the cottage. It has everything you need for a weekend away. It's quiet but very close to Woodstock town, and only 40 minutes from Hunter if you are looking to ski.
Martine was great to deal with: no fuss and very friendly.
An absolute joy and we hope to visit again.
Martine, Kevin and cutie Fritz were wonderful hosts! This cottage has so much more personality than the photos even portray! Also this cottage was super clean which we really appreciated! We would highly recommend and are definitely going to return!
What an amazing cottage! It was a quick visit for us... and we can not wait to return, especially in the Spring or Summer. But we may even return for Hunter Mtn ski season. What a lovely property. We loved the extra touches and attention to detail that Martine provided.
This cottage is cozy and warm. We settled in immediately with a blazing fire and thoroughly relaxed. The cottage itself was roomy and lovely to be in. The town was fun with good restaurants and our hosts were welcoming and very hospitalbe without hovering.
