About this listing
The Dutch Touch captures the best Woodstock has to offer. Be in the Village and secluded at the same time!
This Woodstock treasure is surrounded by gardens, with Monet-worthy views, peaceful mountains and swaying pines. It’s your cozy and peaceful home away from home, yet only a short, pretty walk to the very center of the village.
Dutch Touch is the "brain-child" of artist, Manette van Hamel, an early Woodstock arts colony resident whose work is held in the permanent collection of the Met.
The kind of place one would expect an artist to build:
Perfect for a romantic get-a-way or solo retreat. Recline on your own deck beside a sparkling stream, soak up the sun, read a good book, or walk into town and visit the galleries and shops, or zip up the mountain for hikes, a visit to the Buddhist Monastery or a tour of the Byrdcliffe arts colony. Winter visitors will love the open fireplace, and the fresh winter scent of forest, hearth and home.
There is parking in the driveway

We had the most lovely time at Martine's pleasant and comfortable cottage. All was ready for our arrival, and though Martine was away for our stay, the material she left for us answered any questions we might have had. The cottage is only a short walk from the center of town, yet the setting is quiet and beautiful, with the cottage well back from the street. I'd happily return.
We had a lovely time in the cottage! It's location is just perfect,a short walk to the centre of Woodstock !
Martine was very welcoming and helpful! Would definitely recommend it!
Where to begin …
The place: Everything they said about the place is true. It’s a charming, cozy cottage, beautifully appointed with original artwork and nice, comfortable furniture; fully equipped and functional kitchen; located on the grounds of a beautifully maintained estate, five walking minutes from the Woodstock Village Green.
The hosts: Martine and Kevin both are warm, engaging, and interesting people. They are a major part of the charm.
The place, the hosts, the town … all of it exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend The Dutch Touch cottage.

The cottage was very nice and cozy, clean, and really a pleasure to stay in. Also, the location was fantastic. It was such a short walk or drive to town, and to hiking excursions. I would stay here again.
Loved my experience; the place was warm and cozy; it was a beautiful setting to think and write and just get away from it all, while still being walking distance to downtown Woodstock!
We loved the cottage. It was very comfortable, close to town, and near so many wonderful day trips. Thank you again. We will recommend this cottage to our friends and hope to visit again in the future.
Our best Airbnb experience ever!
Understated elegance in a rural setting. Really comfortable bed and furnishings with lovely views of the woods and stream from the windows. Peaceful and quiet yet a short walk to town. Martine and Kevin are friendly and kind, available when you need them.

About the Host, Martine
I have danced all my life, and still do perform, and teach ballet. Kevin and I live in NY city and part time in Woodstock. There we live in the house my parents moved into when they retired. Now it has become our Paradise. I like to garden, cook, and spend time delighting in the surroundings. All this keeps us very busy, and happy.
