Pauliac is close to the towns of Verteillac and Ribérac in the Department of the Dordogne. We offer comfortable accommodation, in a relaxed country house where good food is a priority. Our rooms blend simple traditional farmhouse style with modern sparks of colour and materials. In this setting we organise drawing, painting and writing holidays for groups or individuals. See our site for more information
There's dramatic countryside close by in which to walk, cycle or rest or if you want to go further, the prehistoric caves of the Dordogne and Vezère rivers are only an hour away. Everyone has heard of Bordeaux and St Emilion- and they are just an hour and a half away from us
However, if you want to go nowhere you can laze about our garden. We have truly beautiful views over the valley and an unusual stone pool into which you can leap to cool off.
We've plenty of space and love catering for big groups!
We stayed in Pauliac for three nights to go to a wedding nearby. The house is in an idyllic setting with a lovely garden - all very conducive to a relaxing stay.
Our room was basic but comfortable, charming and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was quite old but clean and functional and the room was reasonably priced. Really lovely to have pure linen sheets.
Breakfasts were convivial as we swapped stories at a long table shared with other guests while enjoying fruit, croissants and home made jam.
Our hosts were helpful and accommodating. We heard stories of Jane's delicious suppers although sadly didn't have time to try one for ourselves - something to look forward to next time!
We had an amazing stay at Jane's home in France.
It was the perfect place to unwind and rest, surrounding by the beautiful French countryside, I would recommend a break away to their home will make you feel wonderfully recharged.
Both Jane and John are wonderful hosts, and make you feel very at home. Thank you so much.
A dream place. Charming house with character and a beautiful garden. And Jane and John are the perfect hosts. We felt at home, waking up to birds chirping outside the window and enjoying the homey breakfasts. We recommend this to anyone, although we'd love to keep it a secret just for us :)

We came to France 23 years ago with our 2 small boys. We loved it so much we have stayed and stayed building and developing our B&B over the years. Our rooms are simple but I hope original. We are in the countryside so we offer meals which are popular. I find it hard to compromise when it comes to food - so be assured of good quality and tasty food.
We like people to feel at home so we would never turf our guests out during the day. We want you to enjoy the garden and the surrounding countryside and in the evening, if you are hungry, to eat at our large table on the veranda. However if you are shy we can make up a table for you on our new deck - cantilevered over the valley.
Gardening, painting, are other things we do and we have a very large Bernese Mountain dog
