CHECK IN & CHECK OUT PROCEDURE
CHECK IN any time after 2:30 pm, INCLUDING ANY LATE NIGHT TIME. If you are planning to arrive earlier and the previous guests are leaving a few hours earlier than 12 noon, we would be happy to accommodate your earlier check in. You can check in your luggage and pick up keys from the cleaning lady at early as 12 noon, so to return to the apartment latter the cleaning is complete, normally no later than 2:30 pm.
We generally expect our guests to be packed and allow the cleaning start not later than 12:00 noon, as it takes us 2 to 3 hours and we are quite serious about it's quality.
We can also keep your luggage in the apartment till the end of the cleaning or later with the doorman of a building down the block, if you have requested that prior your arrival .
In case you would need to stay in the apartment after later than 12 noon, and our next guests are arriving late enough that afternoon / night, we would be happy to accommodate this, if you discuss it with me in advance AND the next check in is late enough to allow your later check out and 3 hours of cleaning do it for you.
In short, we cannot guarantee an earlier check in than 3:00 PM and later check out than 12:00 noon, but we always can accommodate your luggage drop off and pick up any time that day AND try and do out best to provide you the apartment as early and let you stay there until as late as the previous check-out and the next check in allow us.
As you have confirmed your reservation (congrats! you've got to stay in an amazing apartment in the beautiful part of Manhattan), please send me through AirBnB messaging the time and airport / or train / bus station of your arrival and departure so I could plan your check-in and check-out and give you more detailed directions.
I am looking forward to hosting you on your trip to New York.

Marina and the apartment were both great. Marina had to move a few blocks away prior to our stay so we didn't stay in the advertised place, but the apartment we did stay in (on E84th street) was beautiful, quiet and convenient. Marina was waiting for us on arrival despite a delay and arriving late at night. Thanks for a great stay.
Marina was a FAN-TAS-TIC hostess ! With absolutely no issues during our stay. Our place was extremely clean, comfortable, quiet - exactly as described. Although we stayed at a different address, the apartments were essentially identical and so near each other, it did not matter one bit. Would definitely recommend Marina as a hostess. It's clear how important it is to her for everything to be perfect for our stay - which it was; she was very responsive both before and during our stay. This was my first airbnb booking - Marina has set a high bar for my future hosts.

Good afternoon Marina and happy 2014.
I would like to thank you for the attention and also to say that the apartment we stayed in NY is very good. Clean, beautiful, comfortable, great location. A small problem. Do not have a lift.

My boyfriend and I stayed in Marina's apartment in early December and wow - this apartment is beautiful! Marina has outstanding taste and every detail in the apartment reflects this. The bed was comfortable with beautiful linens, the bathroom was shiny, clean, and well-stocked, and the living room was comfortable and classy. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and glasses, which made take-out meals a lot nicer. Speaking of - there is a fantastic Indian restaurant right next door and not only is the food excellent and flavorful, but the portions are a great size - we had leftovers for lunch the next day.
We had the pleasure of meeting Marina and she is so sweet and takes excellent care of her guests. The instructions for the building and apartment were perfect - even the taxi estimate from the airport! Marina really attends to and anticipates her guests needs. When we're back in NYC, we really hope to stay at Marina's place!
We planned a trip to NYC for our anniversary, so my wife could finally see the Macy's Parade firsthand. Our desire was to find a place in the Upper East Side. Cleanliness was a high priority, as well as security, ease of access to subways, restaurants, and a workable kitchen. We knew that a responsive host/hostess would be critical for any problems that arose.
Marina keeps a great place, simply decorated, with an updated kitchen, immaculately clean, and she was easily accessible for help, even over Thanksgiving weekend.
We were just a few blocks from a subway, and had access to more restaurants, bakeries, and window shopping than we had time for.
Great location, very clean apartment. We were able to walk to the MET or Central Park in less than ten minutes. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends and family. It was perfect for my husband, my three-month old son, and myself. The kitchen was great, too. Marina was also great about when I needed to contact her with some extra last minute questions.
This is a positive but mixed review. Rented Marina's apartment in Oct. - Nov. Being returning New Yorkers who now live elsewhere we don't sightsee all day. Daytime comfort is just as important for us as sleeping arrangements. We had to move some pieces of furniture around to achieve this. We picked this place for the featured futons, that are known to be better for sleep than convertible sofas. We brought a sponge pad that turned out to soften the futon to confer just the right comfort for an adult's aching joints. The bed in the bedroom is very good. Despite the problems (see below) we had a pleasant stay.
Strong positive aspects: immaculate cleanliness, obsessively so (kitchen shelf full with cleaning solutions); the linens provided are plenty and very nice; the location is perfect for transportation, shopping, eating out. The noise is mostly from 3rd Avenue and as NYC goes it is not bad.
Not so positive aspects: There are four windows; a large one to the street that has to be locked for the night or when away as it opens to the fire escape accessible from the street or the rest of the building. It does not have a mechanism to keep it locked/partially open. Three small windows (kitchen, bath, bedroom) open to the bottom of a shaft that doesn't let in light or air. We found the screens clogged with soot, but washing them only proved that there is only updraft going out (hot pipes run under the floor the entire length of the apartment) and ventilation can be achieved only by opening the street window. Without the two good A/C units working the apartment was a stuffy mid-80s (50s outside). This might be a seasonal problem because of the hot pipes.
Negative aspects: Rough start. The key was not where it was supposed to be and the super from the next building (where the stated washer/dryer are; we did not use) harassed us; the cleaning was nowhere finished at 4:00pm when we arrived, but after some delay the housekeeper let us in and graciously helped us with the luggage. Cleaning was finished only after 7:00pm because (we were told) of the busy laundry room. We had to buy and use Drano to unplug the bathroom sink. We asked but did not get help from Marina and we were advised not to approach the super.
The second day Marina sent us an admittedly well intentioned but poorly worded message, that sounded like an imminent threat of eviction. No one bothered us. This is how we learned about the ongoing legal battle in New York (re: rentals less than 29 days), regarding coop property owners sharing their space. It would be very unfortunate for both hosts and guests if this law is not reversed, as hotels got exceedingly expensive in NYC, and places like Marina's are very much in demand especially for a longer stay like ours.
I could recommend Marina's apartment heeding the special situations listed.
