I recommend taking the bike to Marina Del Rey, there is a great trail that goes mostly along the beach. You go South through Venice and end up on Washington Blvd. On washington there are fun restaurants and coffee shops, a very fun Italian place called C & O with great outdoor seating, a dive bar called Hinano's with pool table and the best burgers ever, and the Terrace Restaurant right on the boardwalk.
And you can park your bikes and walk around the Venice canals.
On the way back or there check out Abbot Kinney blvd, voted the hippest block in America, great restaurants, antique stores, art, and photography - check out the g2 gallery....Abbot's Pizza has the best pizza -- made from bagel dough.
Also riding north up to the Santa Monica Pier is a lot of fun, there's a ferris wheel, etc...and (email hidden)d you will be very close to all the shops at the promenade....you will be in downtown Santa Monica there...
yes, one block away from bus stop to get to downtown, ucla, or any museum.

Funky, fun and inviting. Paul puts so much thought and effort into making the stay special. The location was primo. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay.
I had great communication with Paul whilst booking his place for my colleague, Tom. Really helpful & straightforward. This is what Tom had to say:
Paul is a great host, and always on email or mobile if you need to get hold of him.
His apartment is really cosy and it’s in a really quiet area, with no traffic noise and yet is 2 minutes away from Main St, where there are great cafes and shops.. And it’s another 2 minutes to the beach! There is a great outside space with a BBQ and also there are 2 bikes, which I found really useful for cruising around on. I’d really recommend his place.
My girlfriend and I spent a week at Paul's place and needless to say, we loved every minute of it. Conveniently located three blocks from the beach and at the south end of Santa Monica, the apartment has a quirky charm to it that was perfect for our vacation. Paul was a fantastic host. In addition to providing everything you could have possibly forgotten from toothbrushes to a hairdryer to hot sauces, he also provided great instructions on where to eat in the area and things to do. All of the suggestions were fantastic and definitely where the "locals" go. The outdoor patio was a perfect place to unwind after a long day where you could read a book while cooking a piece of fish on the grill.
The wi-fi was a bit slow and sometimes not working, but thankfully we did not need to use it extensively. Parking could be challenging depending on what time of day you were looking for a spot (doubly hard on weekends), but we were thankful that Paul provided us with the necessary parking pass for our car.
Definitely would stay at Paul's place again!
Paul's place is absolutely lovely! Ideally located in Santa Monica, close to Main Street and Venice Beach, three blocks away from the beach. We really felt at home. The flat is charming, fully equipped and decorated with a lot of taste.
Paul was extremely welcoming, leaving us tons of tips on places to visit and great restaurants in the neighborhood. It was very easy to be in communication with Paul, even if we did not need to because everything had been thought through in advance.
Paul lets 2 beach bikes available—very convenient in Santa Monica!
Nothing else to say than: "go for it, it is just a fantastic place for a couple romantic days!"
Paul was a great host. His apartment was clean, cozy, and literally a block away from the bustling main street of Santa Monica, 2 blocks from the beach, and just a bike ride away from other fun and amazing places! Paul had 2 beach cruiser bikes ready and waiting for us - which really made it easy to get around and check out all the neighboring areas! He sent so many great suggestions for places to see, restaurants to eat at, and other hang out favorites!
We were lucky to have found such an excellently located place! Thank you Pau!
Awasone such a lovley cute place to be. Everytime again.
I feel like this was the place I have looking for in all of my travels. I thought I might find it in bali or hawaii, the bahamas, but nope. I found this awesome place in Santa Monica. I loved it. So many great books, cooI pictures, a couple beers and some wine available. I was here for business and will definitely stay at Paul's from now on when it is available. Absolutely loved it.
it doesn't get much better than this!! it's a beautiful tree house bungalow with beach breeze and so much natural light coming in. thanks!
Paul's apartment is extremely charming! The location is amazing and the design of the studio is really cool. He has everything you need for a stay in Santa Monica! I'm definitely looking forward to staying here when I'm back.
Paul was a wonderful host. He was always reachable, and answered any questions we had. His place was perfect for what we were looking for- clean, stocked and he even had 2 bikes for us to use! I highly recommend staying at Paul's studio.
