About this listing
This is a large room with private bath located on the second floor. The private entrance allows you to come and go as you please, and the balcony offers a nice view of Madonna Mountain.
Located in a quiet, residential neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown San Luis Obispo, our Carriage House room is a large upstairs guest room with a queen bed, private bathroom, and a private entrance.
French doors lead to a balcony where you can have your morning coffee and tea. For breakfast, homemade sourdough pancakes and organic coffee will be available.
We have bicycles for rent ($10 per day). You can bike to the beach in an hour or less, spend the day exploring or lounging in the sun, and come back to San Luis Obispo on the bus (our buses are equipped with bike racks!). We have a lot of hiking trails within walking and biking distance as well!
There are parking spaces in the rear of the property that are first-come first-serve. You will find a spiral staircase in this back lot that goes up to the room. Please be aware that this staircase is a bit steep and can be awkward if you are carrying luggage.
There is another staircase located in the hostel portion of our property, and this can be used between the hours of 8am-11am and 4:30pm-10pm.
Please do not use the staircase that is found within the room, this leads to our tenant's space below. There is a door at the bottom of the staircase that stays locked; this is the barrier between the two spaces.
We had a great stay here! The room was comfortable, clean, quiet, and private. It was within easy walking distance of downtown. The room can get quite warm during the day, but there are several nice fans which help cool it down in the evening/night with the windows open. Jarred was responsive to our questions, and provided us with the information we needed ahead of time. We would definitely stay here again.
We were enchanted with the nice loft apartment on the quiet portion of Santa Rosa street. It is located within easy walking distance of the downtown area. The bed is super comfortable, not too soft or firm.
The bathroom is very nice with an opening skylight window.
My son and I were visiting for his Cal Poly freshman orientation.
The place was cozy, perfect for a mini-getaway. We were only there for a brief night, but we would definitely stay here again the next time we're in SLO.
Jared was an excellent host. He was there to meet us at the hostel and showed us to our room, which was absolutely perfect. It is a gorgeous, very large room with a nice big and clean bathroom, with a quaint little balcony over looking a mountain. The hostel itself is very nice and has lovely staff. Jared made some good recommendations for us on things to do while we were visiting San Louis Obispo. I highly recommend staying in this room - it is infinitely more charming and lovely than staying in a hotel.
Great location within walking distance to town. Large, quiet room. Everything was very clean and small fridge was great to keep our wine cold. There is a ceiling fan, but room does get a little warm in summer. Overall a great value for our weekend stay!
We had a good stay in SLO at Jarred's place. Although we didn't get to meet him, he was very responsive and helpful over e-mail and text. The room was very comfortable if slightly oddly furnished. The sourdough pancakes in the adjoining hostel made for a delicious breakfast and gave us the chance to meet some other international travellers. The location was good and it was easy to walk in and explore SLO.
