The Space

Quiet Private Room VILLA IMPERIA
in Safe Aria of MARINA DEL REY
with the Bike Path and Beaches

The room has a kitchenette so you can have your breakfast in your pajamas at 3 AM or 3 PM. Every day the fridge is refilled and the room is cleaned, unlike in a separate apartment :-)

As one of my guests wrote:

"During all my reservations through the site, Zhanna's place is my favorite so far. Everything was perfect there, no complaints at all. Firstly the location, Marina is a perfect location, near the 90 (which takes you everywhere in the city), but also only few minutes to the Ocean, Venice and Abbott Kinney, but with the advantage of being away from the hustle and bustle. The place is beautiful, the room / apartment is impeccable, clean, simple and effective, with the largest small good breakfast in Santa Monica every morning (and refilled every day). Everything is made to make you really think that you have your own little home there. Zhanna is also a really a nice person, it's up to you to choose your kind of holiday: if you are sociable, she is very happy to listen and discuss with you; if you are more independent and discreet, no problem, you have the keys, you are at your home. In resume, a great experience, and a great time." Offner

Indeed, the room has everything you need, and more: private shower (towels included) and toilet, sink with faucet, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electrical tea pot, food storage, dining area, TV with satellite and blu-ray DVD player, internet.

You will be just a short drive from LAX, the city’s most popular clubs, shops and restaurants and the coastal fun of Santa Monica and Venice. You'll ride off on a bike right to the Bike Path that will lead you to the beaches along the ocean.

Discover Marina del Rey - the ideal home base for your LA stay, with beautiful coastline and a carefree attitude.

Marina del Rey is a seaside town on the West Side of Los Angeles and is the largest small yacht harbor in the world. It’s just minutes from all the excitement of Los Angeles, Venice Beach and Santa Monica.

The home really is a quiet oasis to rest and renew, close to fresh ocean air - it's only minutes to the beaches. Our street always has a light breeze, it's never too hot or too cold in Marina del Rey.

We have a free and ample street parking with no restrictions, except for cleaning: on Wednesday one side of the street, on Thursday - another, from 10 am to 12 noon. When one side is being cleaned, the other one is available for parking. For occasional driving check out Zipcar: drive as much or as little as you like, and pay as you go.

You will stay in a large freshly renovated room in townhouse. It's a fragrance-free house! All cleaning stuff is unscented.

There is your own bathroom (toilet, shower and towels), sink with faucet, kitchenette and a little dining area in the room with dinning table and chairs, coffee maker, tea pot, refrigerator, toaster, microwave, china, etc.

There are an iron and ironing board in the room. Save space in your bag and don't bring your hair fan, there is one in the room!

Breakfast is included: Bagel, cream cheese, coffee, tea, cream, oatmeal.

King bed, flat screen TV, Blu-Ray, Satellite and Wi-Fi.

Green neighborhood close to all: boats, beach, restaurants, market, movies, shops, bookstore, coffee houses, LA nightlife -- the list goes on...

We have a very special unique movie theatre, the innovative AMC Dine-In provides the comfort of the living room in a movie theater: you can order food and drinks, including beer and wine, while sitting in reclining leather seats and watching Real 3D on a big screen.

Walk to one of the world’s largest man-made recreational marinas The Fisherman Village where you can jet ski, kayak, paddle board, sport fishing and dine on the boardwalk or take a dinning boat tour.

You can rent a bike and ride along the ocean on the bike path. Marvin Braude Bike Path is 3 blocks from my place, 5 minutes walk. The path will take you: if you ride left on the path (south), you'll get to Fisherman Village and will go on along the ocean in Playa del Rey beach; if you turn right on the path (north), you'll get to Venice and Santa Monica.

Bicycles can be rented in 2 stores, both 20 minutes walking distance:

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Pros:
This is a super-cute room in a lovely apartment complex--I felt like I was being assaulted by flowers every time I came or left. Much more pleasant than a generic hotel.
In-room fridge, microwave, and dishes made breakfast and snacks very easy.
Grocery store, coffee shop, etc. within 5-minute walk.

There's not much noise insulation from the rest of the house. There was no unusual noise; but normal conversation, plumbing noise, etc. carry pretty loudly.
Parking is tricky on street-sweeping days (two days a week).
Bed was okay, but definitely below the quality of what you'd get in even a standard motel.

Overall, a really pleasant place to stay and a great value.

  • We stayed there for few days and we enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic . There is a grocery store right on the corner and there are many rental bike shops nearby so you can walk to the bike shop and rent one if you like.

The location is also very accessible to highways . We had to drive to irvine and Anaheim and it was easy to get back to the house.

The neighborhood is very quiet and the beds are extremely comfortable and we got very good night sleep. The room is also very clean.
Everyone else has talked about the breakfast materials that Zhana provides and I can't agree more . It was really good that we could make breakfast and drink hot tea ( she puts all flavors of tea in the basket , green , white , black , orange ..) and have instant oatmeal . This way we could start our day earlier instead of wasting an hour to go to a breakfast place.

They also have two lovely dogs and my wife was looking forward to seeing them every time we would enter or leave the house :)

Zhana is a very good host and we are telling all out friends about it and next time we visit Los Angeles will for sure try and see if the room is available for short stay

    Thank you Zhana .

    Response from Zhanna:

I am having a kitchen renovation that was supposed to be for a week, but turned into three weeks. I had to cancel a 3-night stay of my guests that has happened to be in the middle of that noisy work period - I don't think they would've enjoyed spending their 3 days vacation on a construction site :) Thankfully, my guests had 6 days to find another place. It was my first time I've canceled on my guests during my 2 years with Airbnb, hopefully, it also was the last. See you in April -- in a house with a new kitchen :)

  • Zhanna was a gracious host and I got a good night's sleep

    February 2014
  • We had an amazing stay at Zhanna. Everything was perfect. Great location. She was a great host. Accomodation was exactly the same as showed. Room was amazingly clean and fully equipped - the room had even small fully equipped kitchen with great selection of cereals for breakfast, there was some cheese and milk in the fridge - there was absolutelly nothing missing - fast wi-fi, even soap and sampoo in the shower. We felt better than in 5 star hotel. When we are back there is no other place where we want to stay next time

  • Really enjoyable stay, lovely area, close to everything, quiet, comfortable. I would definitely come back!

  • I stayed with Zhanna for two weeks. As a hostess she is simply the best . You never saw her, but when you needed something she was right there .She is also a very interesting person . She does outstanding craft work . Her sister Ylenea is another very talented and interesting lady. Zhanna`s place is in a very expensive area but she`s kept it very reasonable for what you get and considering hotels in that area cost a fortune and are meant for the rich and famous ,Zhanna`s place is a steal . Her courtyard is a little Eden and you could spend your holiday right there by the pool . You have to duck the humming birds . Everything is exactly as she described , and that is rare with hosts . You are 10 minutes to the marina and 20 to the surf , on foot. Beautiful public trails all the way. Folow her instructions. Walk to LAX on Dockweiler Beach and watch the giant planes roar out right over your head or watch the fishermen at work, maybe see some dolphins , which I did close up .Talk to a fisherman . He`ll point out what`s there to see. So many routes to take! If you want to go the other way you can catch the bus < 5 mins. from the front door to take you anywhere in the city ( Santa Monica Pier) or , the airport is a 10 minute bus ride and simple. And I have no experience with buses but after 3 days I returned my rental car. Didn`t need it. For the girls , that famous Abbott-Kinney (sp) is about a 20 to 30 minute hike then you can shop till you drop or are broke . Either way it`s the best boutique shopping on the planet and I hate shopping . A man thing.10 min. down Lincoln Bld and the guys are up to their ears in exotic cars. You can pretty well eat at home if you want with the little kitchen . She supplies all the basics plus breakfast items and there are two big supermarkets a stones throw from the beautiful neighbourhood you live in . I get out to run between 5 and 6 . Never saw anybody but my pad was cleaned when I got back . She does it twice a day and you never see her! But call Zhanna and there she is . I could go on and on but it boils down to this . I loved it there and I hated to leave . If Air B+B holds awards than ZHANNA gets a big 10! Thanks Girls!
P.S. I am an older guy and not usually this liberal with praise . I just hope I haven`t spoiled my chances to book there next year . They are only getting started and I `ve got a feeling they will be booked up if you don`t plan ahead .

    February 2014
  • Zhanna and her place were fantastic! A great location - less than 10 minutes (drive) to Venice beach and 15 to Santa Monica. The room you get is very private and has everything you need for a night/weekend. You have a private bathroom with shower and ammenities (shampoo, conditioner, soaps, etc). The bed is comfortable and we had our choice of cereal, english muffins, tea, coffee, and milk for a quick breakfast before heading out to explore the area. Everything was very clean and well taken care of. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend. Thanks, Zhanna!

    February 2014
  • This is my second review for Zhanna in a short period of time . I had left to Huntington Beach for a week and was supposed to return to a booking in Playa Del Rey near LAX that I had made months ago . That host had become so upset with a guess review ( that wasn`t that bad ) that she cancelled all her pending clients but didn`t tell anybody . She just wouldn`t let you in . I was in a pickle along with my suitcase .
I can`t handle uncertainty . I panic . I got hold of Zhanna and she took me in with no notice . I got there way too early and she said " no problem " . I was so relieved ,it was just like coming home . I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of my holiday thanks to Zhanna. If I gave her a 10 last time ,; this time she`s getting more than that plus a big hug .

I am a costumer and a soft sculpture artist. I love traveling, gardening, cooking, and felting. I love animals, especially canines - wolves and dogs. I am excited to open up my home to visitors as I love to meet different people from all corners of the world. I love living in Marina del Rey. It epitomizes everything I love about life. The ocean, art, access to great restaurants, and scenic walks, and the diverse culture. I thoroughly enjoy having guests, and feel that everyone I meet has a way of enriching my live. Meeting someone new and hearing their story can be just as entertaining and interesting as watching a great movie. The restaurants in my neighborhood are amazing. You can find just about any type of food you are in the mood for. All within close walking distance. Most of my regular places to visit are not very far away. I appreciate a sunset walk to the Fisherman Village, a bike ride to the Santa Monica Pier, camping at Big Sur and the National Parks. There is lots of free fun to be had in and around Marina del Rey. Here's a list of the local events that I love to partake in with my friends: concerts on the Santa Monica Pier, the Abbot Kinney Festival, The Venice Canal Holiday Boat Parade, The Venice Carnival, The Festival of the Chariots, The Marina Boat Parade, The Marina 4th of July Fireworks and Concerts in Burton Chase Park. How blessed I am to live in Marina del Rey. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as I do living here. Wherever you stay I hope you thoroughly enjoy your visit to this wonderful place I call home!
