  • The booking process was quick and easy with Eric and Dwylene. A week prior to our trip, Eric emailed us to get our arrival time and a passcode for the door. You use the passcode the entire time, which is really nice because you don't have to carry around a key.

Upon our arrival, Dwylene greeted us. She is the nicest person ever! So friendly and helpful. She introduced us to the Uber app for easy transportation, recommended some good restaurants and bars in the area, and advised us on the neighborhoods to stay away from. She left town the day after we arrived, but she was always available through text or a phone call.

The apartment is really clean, modern, and comfortable. It has some communal supplies (condiments, laundry soap, etc.) and all Eric and Dwylene ask is that you donate some money (however much you think appropriate) to the honor jar when you leave for whatever you used. The hosts also left a few guidebooks and maps of the area that were really helpful. They have a Playstation with games and Netflix. There is also a back porch area with a table that is shared with the hosts.

The apartment is in a quickly gentrifying area (really diverse mix of people, it's kind of strange and very interesting) and an up-and-coming area. I personally really enjoyed the authentic atmosphere of the neighborhood and found that everyone we encountered was very friendly (some people like to hangout on their stoops and are quick to say hello when you pass by). The apartment is about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro (subway) station. We always used Uber at night to get a car because walking home in the dark in that area might've been a little uncomfortable. A parking pass is provided for the duration of your stay and we never had a problem finding a place to park on the street in front of the apartment or on the next street over.

  • Eric and Dwylene are pro AirBnBers. Their apartment was amazing, they were friendly, they thought of everything and it was a perfect experience top to bottom. This is exactly the type of place I wish I could book every time.

  • We had a wonderful experience with the Garcia family. They had maps ready for us as well as Metro cards and a parking permit. My husband has trouble with his back so they brought a straight back dining room chair for him to sit on. When we got slightly misplaced we just called them and they told us how to get back on the right track. They could not have been more helpful. In fact the day we had a tour of the Capitol they gave us a ride so we would not have to take the bus. The apartment and the family was better than we could have thought. This was our first experience with Airbnb so I was a little nervous but it turned out great. A special thanks to the Garcia family for making our Washington DC stay great.

  • The accommodations and the hospitality were fantastic! We felt welcomed and truly enjoyed staying at Eric and Dwylene's home. We felt safe walking in the neighborhood to the Metro and back. We had all the comforts of home! We will definitely try to schedule with them upon a return visit to D.C. in the future.

  • Had a wonderful experience staying in Eric and Dwylene's apartment! It was clean, comfortable and we especially enjoyed spending down time on the patio! Dwylene was very helpful with questions we had about the area, etc. We took the bus most days and the stop is just around the corner; very convenient.

I would definitely recommend this apartment!

My wife, Dwylene, and I have been AirBnB hosts for a while now and have thoroughly enjoyed the experiences we have had so far. We are the parents of two children that keep us young. We are proud residents of Washington DC (the city, not the "Washington" that you hear about in the news) and like to share information on all it has to offer with our guests. I travel often for work and like to think I know what makes for a good travel experiences.
