Dwylene made us feel very welcome. She came to greet us almost immediately upon our arrival. Her instruction sheets on frig and pantry items for "free" and "purchase" are clear, and very nice to have available. The Smartrip cards (for the metro/bus) are also great, and some had money left on them too! The apartment was as expected from the pics in the listing and it was very clean upon our arrival. Location was a little close to some not so nice areas for my personal preference, but immediate area seemed to be loaded with families, on our street anyway, and we felt safe enough. The apartment size was perfect for the 4 of us and cozy, but better than 4 of us in a hotel room. The Keurig cups for my daily coffee were the BEST part IMO, and I used up ALL of the French Roast!!! Loved the peanuts as snack choices and the rest of my family loved the little cereal boxes and mac n cheez! I also enjoyed soaking in the big tub, though I didn't turn on the jacuzzi, and I should have! There are a few places to eat that are close by, within walking distance, but not really a good place to have breakfast. The closest Safeway isn't in the best area, but there is another, it's just further away. We are just not that used to walking so much as AZ suburbanites and the humidity took a toll on us for the week we were there. Would highly recommend staying here for people who are used to the urban lifestyle of big city living, and the price for value was great. We enjoyed our stay, and it felt more like "home" than a hotel room. We also really enjoyed winding down each evening after our travels by watching Netflix!
From the day I made the initial inquiry through the entire stay, Dwylene was kind, responsive and genuine. The space was perfect for the three of us (two adults, one teen) and had all the amenities, including laundry! One day, a large rainstorm hit and caused some minor water seepage in the back of the unit; of course, Dwylene texted us and let us know they were on top of it. We barely noticed and it did not impact any of the living space or bedrooms. We loved the honor jar where you can buy, cheaply - I might add, light snacks, bottled water, Keurig pods, beer or pay for a load of laundry. The free use of Metro SmarTrip cards is also genius, along with guidebooks galore and maps. The only bummer was that we did not take advantage of Dwylene's recommendations and knowledge of the city, only because we have been several times, have family locally and know the city really well. So, if you are not familiar, take advantage of her recommendations!

We thoroughly enjoyed this transit friendly, well-appointed apartment. It was the perfect 'base camp' for all of DC adventures and the hosts are a lovely family who take their role as hosts seriously-- wonderful hospitality. They have thought of conveniences like metro cards and a map to area grocery stores. Really helpful! We'll be back!
Where to start? Both the place and Dwylene are amazing. The place had everything we needed, including cereal for the kids and coffee for my husband and I so we didn't need to step out for them. Our boys loved watching Doctor Who on Netflix, which was available. The beds were comfy and the whole house was clean and cozy. We were only a short bus ride away from the National Mall. Dwylene always responded to queries and even arranged for an SUV to bring us to the airport. She was there to meet us and allowed us to check in early. She definitely made our stay in DC memorable. Would definitely book her place again if we ever need somewhere to stay in DC!
My family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at Dwylene's place! Upon arrival, she dropped by and gave us a quick introduction of her apartment, her neighborhood and DC in general :) We also appreciated that she provided us Metro cards for use during our stay. The apartment was cosy and well equipped with all the necessities for our short stay.
Dwylene was helpful and responsive in addressing our questions and concerns, both before and during our stay too.
Thanks for a great stay in DC! :)
We were very well greeted by Dwylene in this great Washington appartment. Walking to the Capitol takes about 25 minutes. And the Eastern Market is a walking distance also. This was our first Airbnb experience and we will certainly try it again in our future trips. Thanks again Dwylene for a great experience.
