Mountain and valley views

Guests say the views are lovely.
Book a stay at our wonderful and unique cabin that goes way back to the 1900's when the Wandcrest Community was founded by the original owners. We have wonderful mountain and valley views and tons of wildlife (especially deer, singing birds, and chipmunks!). Our community is incredibly inclusive and open to guests that are searching for a relaxing, and serene getaway for a couple of days!

The space
Bedroom/Sleeping Arrangements: Our cabin has one main bedroom with a new soft mattress and pillows (based on the requests made by our previous guests) with a beautiful view of our Rocky Mountains and a scenic Asian-style painting. Our guests enjoy spending time with their family or just relaxing in front of the fireplace, for which we have a convertible sofa bed that fits two and another couch which in total can fit up to a party of 4 at our cabin.

Kitchen Area: Our kitchen area includes a full-size refrigerator, microwave, slow cooker, rice maker/steamer (recently added), mini sandwich grill, and coffeemaker for your convenience. Our cabin is quite old and had a slightly different purpose back when it was built in the 1900's, so it does not have an oven or gas/electric range yet, but we are constantly working on improvements, so please give us time :) We also have drinking water canteens next to the refrigerator for your use.

Living Room: We have 2 couches, a sofa bed, and a rocking chair with a loveseat in the living room area for your complete comfort. The room is also equipped with a fireplace, electric heater, and propane heater (new and improved) for those that wish for a warmer stay. Firewood is usually stacked either to the right of the cabin entrance or behind the cabin at the lower parking level which you are free to use to your heart's content while watching your favorite movies or observing our wildlife through the window!

Bathroom: We have an antique cast iron bathtub that many of our guests enjoy along with several curtains for privacy (as requested by our guests), with plenty of hygiene necessities under the vanity (liquid and hand soap, various brand mini shampoos and conditioners, etc.) along with hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial bathroom mats and shower curtains for your safety with plenty of towels.

Outdoor Patio: Outdoors you will have access to a mini grill and a charcoal tub for disposal along with two foldable camping chairs and 2 lounge chairs. Per your request and depending on our county's fire ban (Jefferson County) we may be able to provide you with a larger grill on our own patio (Blue House lower patio).

Private/Shared Backyard: We sit on a 3-acre property so feel free to roam our hills up to the neighboring houses. Many of our guests love to enjoy the starry sky and mountain sunset/sunrise from the top of our hill!

Guest access
Directions and Location: We are located about 5 minutes from the US-285 highway on Wandcrest Drive that's locatable to the left after you pass the Pine Junction Intersection at the stoplight. After you turn, take Wandcrest Drive for about 5 minutes and turn left onto Garfield Lane (after you pass a row of mailboxes to your left). After turning left, continue on the left most road (passing by Eagle Lane) until you see a wheel marker. Then, take the left road and turn right at the cabin (You'll see it immediately to the right of the (our) big Blue House).

Parking: We have parking generally available behind (lower parking level) and in front of the cabin (upper parking level) in case your vehicle is not able to take the road up. In separate cases, we can have you park your car in our driveway (in front of the big Blue House) or on Eagle Lane in front of the staircase to our house.

* Important Section*
*The last road section and driveway to the cabin is quite difficult for our guests to conquer so we highly recommend you have a 4WD vehicle on hand especially in the winter season to ensure that you not get stuck on our driveway and make it safely up to the cabin*

*Weather Tips*
Colorado has been progressively getting drier; generally we don't have our biggest snowstorms until late winter and spring (March/April). Most of the snow that falls before and after then melts within a day or two. At times snow has helped our guests get up the dirt road as it provided cushion for the holes in the road. Please consider this when booking.

Attractions: At Pine Junction, we have Crossroads Grill that serves delicious pizza and beer, Golden Pine (chinese food) and a very rustic but unique souvenir shop next to the gas station next to the grill. For those that want more, we have Granite Fitness Center and plenty of hiking trails around Pine, Conifer, Bailey and more (We have plenty of magazines and booklets of various attractions available for you at the cabin).

Other things to note
*Important Information*

Wildlife Safety: Our neighborhood and area sees a lot of wildife all the time, so feel free to oberve, but please do not feed the wildlife - this will attract predators that we don't want to see in our neighborhood

Wildfire Safety: In the summertime especially, Jefferson County and other Colorado counties often issues a fire ban for the safety of Rocky Mountain and Front Range communities, during which we ask you not to use the grill or set up campfires in the area. Please be aware and check for updates and ask us for more information.

Decor: Our cabin is very unique and antique - the house's former owners left us plenty of their things which we proudly have incorporated into the decorations of our cabin (1900's telephone, 1940's jukebox, paintings and old photographs, and very old books). We ask you to respect the former owner's heritage and space and observe these exhibits with care. A collection of unique, vintage knick-knacks from the 19th and 20th centuries: an original telephone built back in the 1960's, Christmas ornaments and cabin decorations from the late 20th century, and a set of eternal classics of literature including 'The Scarlet Letter', and 'Robinson Crusoe'. The blue range cabin holds a deep and family-friendly history back from 1875. Among a multi-cultural community forged by Italian, German, French, and English pioneers, our property inherited its warm, and nostalgic spirit of the past. Our property is incredibly warm and cozy!

Reviews: Due to the age of our cabin, we have had unfortunate reviews from our former guests, and are saddened by the fact that they were unable to enjoy their stay to the fullest, however, we are constantly working on our feedback, and improving the cabin step-by-step. Although some changes are more time-consuming and require more investment, we are always glad to read your thoughts in the review book (that we provide in our cabin). We do hope that you will be able to see us grow in your eyes over the next few years of our cabin's evolution.

Neighborhood highlights

History: The Wandcrest Community came to be way back in 1875 - a serendipity of German, Italian, Irish and English immigrants that settled in Pine and the surrounding towns in search of opportunities during the Gold Rush. Since then, our community has become a multicultural, but very inclusive neighborhood. We have posted photos of what the cabin looked like at its beginning if you're interested!

Attractions: At Pine Junction, we have Crossroads Grill that serves delicious pizza and beer, Golden Pine (chinese food) and a very rustic but unique souvenir shop next to the gas station next to the grill. For those that want more, we have Granite Fitness Center, a zipline agency and plenty of hiking trails around Pine, Conifer, Bailey and more (We have plenty of magazines and booklets of various attractions available for you at the cabin).

Location: Most of our nearest stores (closer to Denver/Morrison) are in Conifer, about 10-20 minutes from the cabin by car. There you will find a Natural Grocers, Safeway, King Soopers. Some of the other stores are: Staples, Ski/Mountain Equipment Shop (Sinclair Plaza), and interesting places. In the other direction, Bailey has a variety of rustic and local coffee shops and cafes that are definitely worth a visit!

*Grocery Delivery: Our neighborhood is part of the Instacart Delivery zone, thanks to which we have local grocery delivery and pick-up options from stores like Safeway, King Soopers, Costco, Natural Grocers, Staples, Walgreens, and Sprouts. Available through the Instacart App.
