Great communication
100% of recent guests rated Host Of Pondok Apsari 5-star in communication.
Pondok Apsari is an intimate home that grew around an antique rice barn on pillars, created by a Dutch artist. The inside and outside of the house are seamlessly connected.
It's located in the hills south of Singaraja, between rice fields, with views of the Bali sea and volcano tops.
A beautiful gorge with waterfalls and a trekking area are within walking distance.
If your party is 5-7 people we have two extra bedrooms available nearby (25 meters walk).

The space
This place is especially for people that like being outdoors and in nature.
This private property is 2.000 m2 and all is at your disposal. A part of it is still used as an rice field. The house has a bedroom upstairs that can be locked, the other bedroom is a bale between the upper bedroom and the living downstairs. It has a double bed, but to the ceiling 1.40 m high. From the window you look out over the rice fields.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms (inside and outside), a roof covered studio, parking place, a swimming pool and an Balinese resting place in the garden/bale.
In the garden are possibilities to hang your mat or put a tent.
If you look for more beds or prefer a more spacious bedroom, then there is a separate studio 50m. beyond in the street (see the picture).
It belongs to Pondok Apsari, has 1 double and 1 single bedroom, a bathroom with hot water. It can be rented out as extra space for guests of Pondok Apsari who may use all the services of Pondok Apsari. So the number of guests can be expanded.
This requires an additional fee.

Guest access
The entire property is at your disposal.
For the number of guests and places to sleep different options are possible, both indoors and outdoors.

Other things to note
We are happy to offer you this real authentic part of Bali, so close to the overwhelming nature.
You can contact us when you want to come with more people, because we can expand the number.
We can offer you all kind of activities and tours in the North of Bali. When you booked this place, we will send you the information, also where to eat, route description, info about hikes, etc.
Because of the hight (330m above sea level) in the night it's a bit cooler then near the sea, what is comfortable at night.

Location

Singaraja, Bali, Indonesia

Although Pondok Apsari is only 15 min. drive from the city Singaraja, it is located in a very rural and authentic area. In spite of mobil phones, TV and motorbikes, many families live like 20 years ago. It's a place with a panoramic view. A jungle area and an exiting river in a gorge with swimming spots by waterfalls, like the the Aling Aling waterfall. With a guide you can make wonderfull hikes and even jump in a waterfall.
For food there are some small local shops, but for real shopping you go to Singaraja or Lovina. We also can provide food or meals, have a motorbike for rent or can book a car.
There are several restaurants and local warungs on walking distance.

Karien is a Dutch artist and about 8 years ago she started to convert a virgin sawah (ricefield) in the hills above Singaraja into a tropical paradise. The place grew around a 100 years old 'lumbung/Balinese rice barn' in pillars. This unique house has a seamlessly connection between inside and outside. The swimming pool follows the shape of the sawa’s and when you swim you have a magnificent view. Karien live with her husband in another village and Pondok Apsari is managed by Ida Bagus alias Ji (Djie). He helps the guests with all they need, speaks good English. He and his family lives next doors.
