About this listing
Lovely second floor one bedroom apartment, newly renovated, clean and light, in great location near museums on upper east side. Well-equipped kitchen, AC, street views, TV, wireless internet, dock for Ipod. Four night minimum, perfect for couple. Uncluttered pied a terre, ideal for any length stay. Apartment is owned, not sublet. Quiet neighborhood with central subway stop nearby (86th and Lexington). Close to Carl Shurz Park and East River, which provides a great area for joggers and walkers. You'll love the new Fairway on 86th and 3rd, and the Whole Foods at 87th and 3rd. Lots of handy services within a block or two- fruit vendors, nail salons, great restaurant choices (our favorite is Beyoglu). Two movie theaters within a few blocks. Barnes and Noble also at 86th and Lexington. 92nd St. Y nearby, with great readings and lectures regularly. And museums a short walk away, along with Central Park.
Turnkey furnished, all linens and necessities provided- better than a hotel. Private cozy refuge in the city. Here's what's especially great- no clutter! You can move freely without bumping into a stranger's jammed up possessions. We use the apartment infrequently but keep it ready to enjoy, for ourselves and others. Extra linens and blankets in cupboard, AC in both bedroom and living room.
Check in flexible, we try to accomodate your schedule if you have a morning or late flight.
Carl Shurz Park a few blocks east, with view of East River- spectacular! Gracie Mansion there. Museums a ten minute walk west, also Central Park. Very handy for 86th and Lex subway, access to whole city. Lively restaurants and both Whole Foods and Fairway a few blocks away. Quiet and safe neighborhood.
Subway at 86th and Lex, buses on 3rd and also Lexington. Easy walk to Museum Mile and Carl Shurz Park with view of East River.

Very good. Clean, well-lit, exactly as promised. I think they could use a microwave, but that's a minor detail. Sara was very nice and very responsive and I'd be delighted to stay there again.
We were met by Sara's son, Richard who provided the key to the apartment. He made sure we could get in and offered to help with any issues should they arise. We really appreciated this attention. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We really liked the location which was close to restaurants, a grocery store and the train. We hope to come back to Sara's place again soon when we visit our new granddaughter!
I spent more than a week in Sara's lovely eastside apartment. The space is just as pictured, well-equipped and extremely well located. Arrangements for getting the keys were easy and worked well. I had to leave two days earlier than expected, and Sara was helpful and understanding. I highly recommend the apartment and the host.
Sara is an incredibly kind and gracious host. The apartment is very clean and exactly as described. The location is perfect and the living space wonderful.
I rented the apartment from her for my parent's. They liked the apartment a lot. Unfortunately we had to make some changes to the plans due to their own health and disabilities. Sara was very understanding about this and gracious.
I live in the neighborhood myself. There are a lot of restaurants in the area and I truly believe you won't be able to find a better location in NY.
This is a very well located apartment and has all that you could want for a stay in New York. It is within walking distance of the subway, central park and the various museums in the "Museum Mile".
There are many shops nearby, with a deli/convenience store on the corner 1 minute away. The Fairway supermarket in 86th Street has an amazing selection of almost anything you can think of and the Two Little Red Hens bakery made a really good New York Cheesecake.
The location is relatively quiet, being off the busier 2nd avenue and the neighbourhood seemed pretty safe.
The TV seems to have been upgraded to a larger model, than the one shown in the pictures on the web site.
The WiFi worked well and was invaluable during our stay to reseach local places to visit.
Communication was good before we arrived, even though Sara was based in Mexico at the time.
The appartment has everything you need. There is a metro station a few blocks away and arround the corner you can have fresh oysters for 1 usd each at "la pulperia".
It is big enough to feel confortable arround.
Sara answers your mails on time.
I would recommend this appartment if you are planning to visit new york.
