Ideally located NYC apartment with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Wide variety of restaurants, bars, bakeries, gourmet groceries...blocks away from museums and galleries. One block from brand new 2nd Ave subway!

The space

Lovely second floor one bedroom apartment, newly renovated, clean and light, in great location near museums on upper east side. One block from brand new 2nd Ave subway gives you easy access to whole city! Four night minimum, perfect for couple. Uncluttered pied a terre, ideal for any length stay. Apartment is owned, not sublet. Quiet neighborhood with central subway stop nearby (86th and Lexington). Close to Carl Shurz Park and East River, which provides a great area for joggers and walkers. You'll love the new Fairway on 86th and 3rd, and the Whole Foods at 87th and 3rd. Lots of handy services within a block or two- fruit vendors, nail salons, great restaurant choices (our favorite is Beyoglu). Two movie theaters within a few blocks. Barnes and Noble also at 86th and Lexington. 92nd St. Y nearby, with great readings and lectures regularly. And museums a short walk away, along with Central Park.
Turnkey furnished, all linens and necessities provided- better than a hotel. Private cozy refuge in the city. Here's what's especially great- no clutter! You can move freely without bumping into a stranger's jammed up possessions. Extra linens and blankets in cupboard, AC in both bedroom and living room.
Check in flexible, we try to accomodate your schedule if you have a morning or late flight.

Guest access

Well-equipped kitchen, AC, street views, small balcony/fire escape, basic cable TV, wireless internet, dock for Ipod.

Charming if slightly old fashioned one bedroom apartment on the upper east side. Many wonderful restaurants around, great shopping incl groceries and the subway is steps away. I knew from prior reviews that's it's one floor up with no elevator, so be aware of that. Check in and out were seamless and flexible. Good wifi. We had a comfortable and happy stay.

Great location and lovely apartment. Bob met us at the door, showed us the apartment and told us about the nearby facilities. Was very convenient for everything.

Check in and check out were very easy, and based completely around our schedule. The location was perfect, right next to a subway station, the Met and Central Park. I Plenty of shops and dining right in the area. The apartment itself was very clean and quiet. I really enjoyed my stay.

Sara's place was clean, spacious and reflected many recent upgrades. Sara was very accommodating and all went perfectly smoothly. I've stayed in different places in the same neighborhood over the last few years and I was happy to find that Sara's apartment far exceeded my expectations, as the pictures didn't quite capture how cool this space truly is. I hope her place will be available when I return.

Everything ran perfectly. Only problem: the stairs and the construction at the corner of 2nd Avenue.

Sara was an ideal hostess as far as we are concerned: welcoming without being intrusive, totally reliable and extraordinarily generous and understanding with respect to irregularity of check-out times (due to airline complications). She provided prompt and forthcoming answers to our queries prior to our arrival and her arrangements for the collection of the keys to the apartment once we reached New York were efficient and facilitated an untroubled entry. The apartment was exactly as described. It is cozy (i.e. not large), with a well-appointed kitchen and excellent wi-fi reception. All the appliances (oven, both air-conditioners, etc) seemed in good working order, and the supply of towels and linens was plentiful. On arrival, the apartment was spotlessly clean, and the bed-linen freshly laundered. The bathroom is a little cramped. Toilet and washing facilities are in the same room, and there is a fair-sized shower but no bath. Nevertheless, altogether this is an ideal apartment for a couple seeking a good location on upper east side at a fair price. Another plus is that although close to busy avenues, the street is quiet - and so are the neighbors. The one drawback is that access is via a rather steep and awkward flight of stairs. This might be an issue for persons who have difficulty with heavy luggage and/or shopping. Otherwise, however, a gem.

I'm an artist and independent traveler, respectful, communicative and clean. I firmly believe in the campsite rule of leaving everything as you found it or better and seek the same with my guests. I enjoy hosting and put a lot of time into the information I give my guests.
I love cooking and eating and enjoy a comfortable kitchen and outdoor space. Some of my favorite places in the world are Paros, Oaxaca, Cambodia, San Sebastian, Bali and my hometown of San Miguel Allende. Next destination: Vietnam!
Am a non smoker and allergic to cats.
My home is Tulum is my oasis. I've put a lot of care into making it comfortable. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
