*****2025 update ***** This listing is retired - we had to start a new one since the previous owner & hosts, Dawn & Ralf are selling their house in 2025 and moving to Florida! They are retiring from being the official hosts, and the previous co-hosts ( their son and DIL, Sierra & Josiah) are continuing the usual cleaning, maintenance, and communication while now becoming the new official "Hosts"! Nothing will have changed as far as the guest experience goes, so fear not if you are a returning guest!!

Unfortunately, this means we need to start our review count from scratch on a new page, but we are hoping that we will rebuild our base 300+ of stellar 5-star reviews quickly.

If you are a new or returning guest who's interested booking a stay, you can find the new listing by going to the co-host's (Sierra's) profile at the bottom of this listing, clicking her photo, scrolling down, and visit the listing that isn't labeled as "retired"

Neighborhood highlights

We live in a VERY RURAL area - plan on bringing food as we are not in walking distance to grocery stores or restaurants. Our guestbook on-site can help guide you to some 15min drives to our local places to get food or eat.

Some fun activities in the area can include paddling, fishing, and swimming in the Blackwater River (located about a mile from the site). You can also bring bikes to go for a spin in the neighborhood or The Northern Rail Trail, a nice bike trail near us. We are also on the side of Mt. Kearsarge and can direct you to two state parks that you can hike trails up that.

Some nearby food spots:

The Kitchen in Andover serves amazing breakfast and lunch foods, and some dinner servings. It is located about 5 miles north. The Refinery is fairly new, we haven't tried it but hear great things about it. It's about 8 miles north of the site. ***** Due to covid restrictions, all local eateries are doing take out, or a few outdoor tables. *****

The Barnstore, 7 miles south of us, has great food but is not open on a regular basis. Call ahead to see. They serve locally grown meats. Try the pork chop breakfast!!

Another great place for breakfast and lunch is Tuckers, located 15 miles east in New London. Well worth the trip for good food!

For a good pizza at a good price, try the CrossRoads Country Store, about 6 miles south. Gas, basic necessities, and homemade cookies are their specialties.

Wife of a wonderful man, mother of 7 great people. Unschooling family. Husband was a engineer who started his own small contracting business years ago to spend more time with our kids. Kids are growing up and moving to far away places. We are looking for interesting Airbnb stays, and the variety of bed space available for us all to get together!
