About This Listing
Excellent location! The condo is very pretty and well appointed but nothing beats being 3 blocks from the Jardin and 3 floors up for a PERFECT view. The thick stone walls keep it cool in the summer and the hammock on the top floor is wonderful.
The location and fantastic third floor terrace with a view make this place almost a fairytale. The 1st floor has a kitchen, living, dining room, and tiny half bath, as well as access to the shared garden. The 2nd floor has two bedrooms and a full bath with a lovely bathtub sitting below big garden windows. The 3rd floor is a tiny gem with a hammock, small desk and french doors that open to a terrace with one of the best views in San Miguel.
Sorry: No pets or children
San Miguel was recently named Best City in the World by Conde Nast Travel Magazine (on the list with previous winners Venice, Brugges, Salamanca, etc). It is truly a magical Mexican colonial town! Don't expect dirt roads and donkeys... This was built by the Spaniards and is now a playground for Mexicans from other parts of the country. As I write this I can hear church bells, mariachis, and fireworks. There's always a party!
The condo is yours to use and the pretty garden below is shared among the 6 residents.

The Centro! It's in the middle of everything and just 3 blocks from the Jardin (Garden), which is the main square. The house sits in a mostly residential area, with shops interspersed. There's a slight hill, which gives a beautiful view. It's safe to walk home at night and taxis are easy to find.
San Miguel is a magical town and you can have cocktails at an upscale rooftop bar or sip mezcal and eat fabulous tacos from a street stand.
For me, the best part of this town is sitting in the Jardin at night, with the salmon-colored Neo-Gothic cathedral in lights, listening to the mariachis with their deep voices and soaring violins. It feels very Old World Mexico.
There are plenty of taxis and they're fairly cheap... 2.50 U.S. within Centro, $3-4 elsewhere in the city. Buses are pretty easy as well and you can get information at the Visitor Office on the opposite side of the square as the main church (the Parroquia). The Centro is small enough to walk everywhere if you don't mind some cobblestones. Bring comfortable shoes, and although I'm a 3"-heel-wearing girl, I recommend flats or wedges.
Other Things to Note
Getting a KEY...
Arrangements can be made with the property manager's office, Abraham on Ancha de San Antonio. They all speak lovely English and can answer any house-related questions. His office is open 10-2pm and 4-7pm. After hours pick ups can be arranged individually.
The condo is available each year from about May - November. My parents live there in the winter but their dates are variable.
Since it's a condo our neighbors are close, we like them, and hope to keep it that way. Loud noise late night or early morning should be avoided, especially on the terraces and closing kitchen cupboards loudly after a respectable hour. Seems like a strange request but the cupboards are particularly noisy and a neighbor's bed is on the other side of the wall.
Victoria's home was everything the photos make it look like, and was very conveniently located.
Victoria wasn't actually there when I was- she had a friend of hers host my mother and I while we were at her place. Unfortunately, there was some conflict/misunderstanding with the person who hosted. In resolving the conflict, both Victoria and her host were very respectful, and amicable. While it was a shame that there was conflict in the first place, I think the most you can ask of anyone is that they handle such situations with grace if/when they do occur.
My parents loved everything, the house, the town, the location, the view, everything. Victoria also was so nice and flexible. I look forward to be there myself soon.
Wonderful house and fun host. Located close to pretty much everything. The pictures are usually better than the actual place, this is the opposite. The actual place is more lovely than the photos!
I'm happy to have stayed at Victoria's place during my short visit to San Miguel de Allende. She was quite helpful beforehand and also while I was there. The location can't be beat- right in the heart of the city! Victoria was kind to show me around and get me situated. When leaving, she made guacamole and quesadillas as a snack before my bus ride back and helped me to grab a taxi.
The bedroom was perfect and there was great view from the shower and also a lovely view from the top balcony. I would recommend a single or couple traveling to stay in this quaint spot!
Victoria was a gracious host. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked into her tastefully decorated home. Victoria's willingness to show off the City of San Miguel exceeded my expectations.

About the Host, Victoria
Welcome! Bienvenidos! Benvenuto! Willkommen!
Thanks for visiting Bend!
I'm a 39 year old Realtor & Salsa Teacher in beautiful Bend, Oregon. I've visited or lived in every continent (except Antarctica!) and I keep coming back to Bend because I love the mountains, the people and the warm fuzzy feeling I get every time I see the river flowing through downtown. My mother and I used to have a Bed & Breakfast so I've always enjoyed having friends and guests around and absolutely love AirBnB.
If you want a Bend tour guide, I'm your girl. I've been here 20 years and I love showing off the city. I can tell you the best place for a glass of wine at sunset, the coolest hang-out brewery, tastiest tapas and the prettiest places to walk along the waterfalls.
I'm a linguist and dancer and traveler and I'm always learning. If I had to make a list of my favorite places in the world, it would include Petra (Jordan), Monemvasia (Greece), San Gimignano (Italy), Bocas del Toro (Panama), the Dra'a Valley (Morocco), San Miguel de Allende (Mexico)... But that's just a short list and there are amazing people and places everywhere and more to meet around the corner!
I'm glad you're planning to visit Bend. I look forward to meeting you! :-)
(NOTE: We also have a beautiful condo in downtown San Miguel de Allende for rent May - October each year. Voted Best City in the World by Conde Nast Traveler... pretty cool!)
