Congratulations! If you’re reading this, then fate has kindly delivered you the opportunity to live in one of the best places you will ever call home while you enjoy your stay in Vancouver.
You're looking at an 1250 square-foot, north-facing (great view of the city, water and mountains), corner suite on the 16th floor just 2 blocks away from the Skytrain in central Vancouver. It has everything – a bedroom with lots of storage and a fairly new queen-sized bed, en-suite laundry, a solarium/breakfast nook, a living room with new couches, a dining room with flowers, a fully-equipped kitchen (and I mean full! I even have a deep fryer and a pizza stone!) with dishwasher, a pool/hot tub/sauna, parking (optional), a beautiful garden area with a fountain, an old school arcade machine, a gas fireplace, a large 50 inch HDTV, videogames, movies (Netflix inlcuded!) and a killer panoramic view of Vancouver and beyond.
In summary, the space is amazing and you will truly be in awe of the view.
Your bedroom is private and comes fully furnished with new furniture purchased in 2012 as well as keyed entry. There is lots of storage, a large mirror,. a queen-sized bed, a desk and a gorgeous view outside your window. Your bathroom also comes fully equipped with fresh towels and toiletries.
Please note, I own a very cool (and hairy) cat. If you’re allergic, this is not a place for you!
The location is wonderful. Practically every grocery/liquor store you could ever hope for is within a two block radius and its right beside the Sky Train and the B-Line bus on Broadway. Getting here from the airport is incredibly easy thanks to the subway but it’s also a great starting point for any adventure. Whether you are heading, by transit, to downtown (10 minutes), Kits beach (20 minutes), Stanley Park (25 minutes) the airport (25 minutes), UBC (30 minutes) or the gorgeous North Shore mountains (1 hour) - nothing worth seeing in Vancouver is too far away by bus. In fact, its so convenient, I don’t even own a car!
I have lived here happily for the past 5+ years and I have lived in Vancouver for my entire life - not something most people here can say! I love my city and I'm more than happy to show you what makes Vancouver great. Whether you're into the music scene, restaurants, activities (hiking, snowboarding, rollerblading, etc), or even the hidden gems that most people don't know about - I can show you what's hip. I work a lot running my own businesses so I am usually only here early in the morning and at night unless I have the day off or if I'm working from home that day. I enjoy cooking, performing stand-up comedy, watching hockey and like to relax with a drink or two in the evening. I am very social and I love to play host to guests, dinner parties, sporting events and the like. Of course, if you just want me to stay out of your hair, that's not a problem either. Whether you are here to let loose, work or relax, I like to think I am a pretty adaptable person and can suit your needs as a roommate quite well.
The price of entry is inclusive of a fully furnished bedroom/bathroom , heat/hot water, wireless internet, HDTV, Netflix, videogames and I’ll even provide all the toiletries and clean towels as well. Parking is extra at $120/month or $15/day. And if you're nice, I'll even cook you the occasional meal!
PLEASE NOTE - the price per day/week/month fluctuates depending on the season. It goes as low as $60/night in the winter up to $75/night in the summer. For the most accurate calculation on the total for the dates that you want, you can do one of two things: send an inquiry about the dates you desire OR begin the booking process for the dates you want. Before you follow through with the payment, it will show you the total cost.
I highly recommend taking a look at the website called walkscore and type in my address of 2668 Ash Street.

Sorry, I don't have much time to write a huge review, but I just wanted to say that my stay was great!
Darcy was awesome! Very helpful and welcoming, he made my transition from Ontario incredibly easy. Bed and linens were very comfy, and having my own bathroom was helpful. "An amazing view," is an understatement. Darcy is an amazing cook...he knows his bacon - bonus for me. Batman was a perfect gentlemen, so cuddly he is. One of the friendliest cats I've ever met.
Excited to go to one of his comedy shows - I promise to attend soon!
Thank you Darcy and Batman :)
The reservation was canceled 90 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
What a great place to stay in the middle of the city and a great host to have to answer questions! Darcy made me feel very welcome into his home, and the location was wonderful! Close to groceries and everyday amenities, public transit and everything you could want is within easy walking or bussing distance! Darcy as a host would occasionally cooked wonderful meals for me (yum!) and invite me to watch hockey along with his friends and it was a fun experience! Batman (the cat) is also very friendly and loves to be petted! I definitely feel like I got the best value for my dollar out of this experience and hope others enjoy Darcy and his abode as much as I did!
The apartment and building are both clean and secure, and is close to public transport and grocery stores etc. Darcy is a welcoming and friendly host, who'll make sure to give you some tips and advice on the city. He was always willing to include me in activities, have a beer, and made a meal every so often. Lastly - the view has an amazing view of the city skyline, which makes it a gorgeous place for your stay.
The apartment is really well located, the view is absolutely incredible and worth every penny. Super easy to get around, with the Skytrain and several buses only a few minutes walk from the apartment, and all the supermarket and good food eating one could want close by.
Darcy was a fantastic host, an amazing cook, and all round good company. I had a relatively quiet time in Vancouver and didn't make use of his plentiful offers to go out and experience the night life, but I have no doubt he'd be a great host out and about as well.
I felt really at home the whole time, thanks Darcy
I had the most fantastic stay here! The whole apartment was gorgeous, and even bigger than it seems from the photos. The bedroom was also lovely and had a pretty epic view.
It's also situated in the perfect location - shops just around the corner, and a couple stops on the sky train to downtown. Alternatively you can walk downtown in about 20 minutes.
Darcy was an excellent host, and a brilliant cook as well! I stayed here for a month, and was treated to a gourmet meal about every week. Amazing! Thanks again!
Darcy's apartment is in a great location very near down town Vancouver- it is really close to a sky train stop. The 16th floor offers great view of the city and Darcy is a brilliant host, very relaxed an easy to get on with. He had some great hints and tips on places to go an where to eat.
Darcy is a great host. He took me out to a pub in one night and cooked me dinner in another night! That's a guy who knows how to take care of his guests!
Batman is not as outgoing as Darcy, but I have no complaints about him either.
The apartment is very cool. Nice view and comfortable room. One block away from subway, but with a 25 minutes walk you can be in downtown. Stay there, you won't regret it.
We won't speak about the view (****), the room (****), the appartment itself (****), you already know that, just read the others commentaries. Darcy himself is really a nice guy! He's got a full address book about cool beaches, bars and restaurants: you don't need your Lonely Planet for your stay in Vancouver! Furthermore, he's doing the hottest salad dressing ever! The cat is cool: he didn't bite us. Célia & Philippe
