Congratulations! If you’re reading this, then fate has kindly delivered you the opportunity to live in one of the best places you will ever call home while you enjoy your stay in Vancouver.
You're looking at an 1250 square-foot, north-facing (great view of the city, water and mountains), corner suite on the 16th floor just 2 blocks away from the Skytrain in central Vancouver. It has everything – a bedroom with lots of storage and a fairly new queen-sized bed, en-suite laundry, a solarium/breakfast nook, a living room with new couches, a dining room with flowers, a fully-equipped kitchen (and I mean full! I even have a deep fryer and a pizza stone!) with dishwasher, a pool/hot tub/sauna, parking (optional), a beautiful garden area with a fountain, an old school arcade machine, a gas fireplace, a large 50 inch HDTV, videogames, movies (Netflix inlcuded!) and a killer panoramic view of Vancouver and beyond.
In summary, the space is amazing and you will truly be in awe of the view.
Your bedroom is private and comes fully furnished with new furniture purchased in 2012 as well as keyed entry. There is lots of storage, a large mirror,. a queen-sized bed, a desk and a gorgeous view outside your window. Your bathroom also comes fully equipped with fresh towels and toiletries.
Please note, I own a very cool (and hairy) cat. If you’re allergic, this is not a place for you!
The location is wonderful. Practically every grocery/liquor store you could ever hope for is within a two block radius and its right beside the Sky Train and the B-Line bus on Broadway. Getting here from the airport is incredibly easy thanks to the subway but it’s also a great starting point for any adventure. Whether you are heading, by transit, to downtown (10 minutes), Kits beach (20 minutes), Stanley Park (25 minutes) the airport (25 minutes), UBC (30 minutes) or the gorgeous North Shore mountains (1 hour) - nothing worth seeing in Vancouver is too far away by bus. In fact, its so convenient, I don’t even own a car!
I have lived here happily for the past 5+ years and I have lived in Vancouver for my entire life - not something most people here can say! I love my city and I'm more than happy to show you what makes Vancouver great. Whether you're into the music scene, restaurants, activities (hiking, snowboarding, rollerblading, etc), or even the hidden gems that most people don't know about - I can show you what's hip. I work a lot running my own businesses so I am usually only here early in the morning and at night unless I have the day off or if I'm working from home that day. I enjoy cooking, performing stand-up comedy, watching hockey and like to relax with a drink or two in the evening. I am very social and I love to play host to guests, dinner parties, sporting events and the like. Of course, if you just want me to stay out of your hair, that's not a problem either. Whether you are here to let loose, work or relax, I like to think I am a pretty adaptable person and can suit your needs as a roommate quite well.
The price of entry is inclusive of a fully furnished bedroom/bathroom , heat/hot water, wireless internet, HDTV, Netflix, videogames and I’ll even provide all the toiletries and clean towels as well. Parking is extra at $120/month or $15/day. And if you're nice, I'll even cook you the occasional meal!
PLEASE NOTE - the price per day/week/month fluctuates depending on the season. It goes as low as $60/night in the winter up to $75/night in the summer. For the most accurate calculation on the total for the dates that you want, you can do one of two things: send an inquiry about the dates you desire OR begin the booking process for the dates you want. Before you follow through with the payment, it will show you the total cost.
I highly recommend taking a look at the website called walkscore and type in my address of 2668 Ash Street.

Lucky me! Starting my international experience year in Canada I used airbnb for the first time and honestly I couldn't be happier with my choice. Darcy made me feel very welcome right from the beginning, gave me some brilliant insider-advice what to see in Van and includes me into a bunch of activities. I really enjoyed cooking, watching movies or going for a drink with him. He is an excellent cook (the chicken bomb was a blast), a brilliant comedian and his heart is in the right place.
The apartment is central located, secure and it just takes you a minute to grocery stores and public transport. The room is clean, the bed really cosy and to have your own bathroom is pretty perfect. The skyline view especially at night is truly amazing and Batman is just so adorable. All in all I had a wonderful time here and furthermore i found a new friend!
I can highly recommend staying with Darcy and if, please do yourself a favour and see him on one of his comedy shows. You won't regret it, he is hilarious :)
Sorry, I don't have much time to write a huge review, but I just wanted to say that my stay was great!
Darcy was awesome! Very helpful and welcoming, he made my transition from Ontario incredibly easy. Bed and linens were very comfy, and having my own bathroom was helpful. "An amazing view," is an understatement. Darcy is an amazing cook...he knows his bacon - bonus for me. Batman was a perfect gentlemen, so cuddly he is. One of the friendliest cats I've ever met.
Excited to go to one of his comedy shows - I promise to attend soon!
Thank you Darcy and Batman :)
What a great place to stay in the middle of the city and a great host to have to answer questions! Darcy made me feel very welcome into his home, and the location was wonderful! Close to groceries and everyday amenities, public transit and everything you could want is within easy walking or bussing distance! Darcy as a host would occasionally cooked wonderful meals for me (yum!) and invite me to watch hockey along with his friends and it was a fun experience! Batman (the cat) is also very friendly and loves to be petted! I definitely feel like I got the best value for my dollar out of this experience and hope others enjoy Darcy and his abode as much as I did!
My living in Darcy's house has been an ideal experience, since I was looking for a cozy and nice place where to live for a month. The view is actually amazing (I took pics of the view every day!), you can see all the city and mountains too. The apartment is really cosy and roomy. Darcy is not just a kind and helpful guy but also an interesting person. Batman is lovely, tender and indipendent at the same time, I loved him. The city center is very close and the area is very nice, you can find there all you need. Approved
Darcy is a flexible and good host. His cat, Batman, is rounding the home with out bothering.
The room like whole home has a awesome views, the area is so nice, the canada line is near and it is so fast! 4 min to yaletown.
you have a supermarket whitin a mall behind the building.
If you have jetlag is a perfect place to see beautiful sunsets at 6:00AM from your bed.
It's a good option.
Darcy was a terrific host. He was welcoming, thoughtful, and very helpful.
His dog-like cat, Batman, was icing on the cake! Can't wait to return!
This was my first time using Airbnb and my first stay in Vancouver. I can honestly say that staying with Darcy was the best part of my trip.
He´s a great host, helpful and a cool guy to hang out with!
Darcy´s Place is very well located, one block away from the train line to Downtown and close to a lot of shops and restaurants.
La Taqueria was my favourite restaurant :). The views from his place are outstanding and worth the trip alone! The bed is sooo comfortable and perfect after a 15h travel. I normally don't like cats but Batman is so i adorable..i felt in love. Darcy´s Place ist the best spot in town and i can´t wait to return!
Darcy was a great host and I really enjoyed my stay at his place. He is flexible, easy going and gave lots of great suggestions on things to do in Vancouver.
His condo is also very well located, one block from the train line to downtown and close to lots of coffee shops and restaurants. The views from his place are spectacular, and worth the price alone!
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Darcy to anyone else looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Vancouver.
Thanks for hosting, Darcy!
Darcy made sure we knew how to get to his place, welcomed us and settled us in, making us feel very welcome and sure that we would enjoy our next few days in vancouver.
The flat really does have amazing views, is in a good location to get around the city and once you get the hang of the public trasport, vancouver is easy to access.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
