Check In
  • We spent a long weekend at the house and had an amazing time. The house is fully equipped to receive large groups. There is plenty of space and a beautiful backyard with a large pool and grill where we spent most of our time.
    Very short drive to town.
Will definitely come back to this place.

  • The house had everything is needed and was really, very comfortable. A short distance to the beach and closer to a fantastic farmers market that I'm sure had the best avocados and tomatoes I've ever seen. I'd go back in a heartbeat and highly recommend a stay.

  • We were initially a bit concerned about the issues that Natalie raised, but all of those concerns have been addressed.
    - No mold
    - Pool was immaculate
    - Didn't notice a single insect in the house (only the usual / occasional outdoor bugs at night)
    - Bed coverings seemed fine
    - No personal toothbrush / soap left out
    - No broken furniture
    - Microwave fully functional
    - No clutter in house -- nicely organized and cleaned
    - TV fully functional
    - The fixes and appliances weren't state of the arts, but the rental is priced appropriately for what it
    - The bedrooms are as follows: 1) master bedroom on the 2nd floor with king bed and private bathroom, 2) room with 1 queen bed, 3) room with 1 full bed, 4) room with 2 twin beds, 5) room with 1 twin bed and 1 pullout bed. Very spacious and could easily sleep 10 comfortably.

Perry is very responsive and easy to coordinate with. The owner was responsive as well. The house itself is on a quiet street about 15 min drive to town and is as advertised. Overall a great experience -- don't hesitate to book this place.

  • Overall, the place simply does not look like a vacation rental - it looks like the people who live there simply left ten minutes before we got there. The house is full of personal items and clutter. The refrigerator was full of food and condiments that expired in 2007. Some of the disturbing issues were:
    - mold growing up the screen door (which was broken)
    - the pool looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks (we were later told that the pool guy comes once a week but it stormed a few days before we arrived, that's why it was so dirty)- we scooped out shovelfuls of pine needles from the filters that were completely blocked
    - dirt on the master bathroom countertop
    - rusty fixtures and appliances that haven't been updated since the 70s
    - an unacceptable number of insects in the house (I understand the wooded area lends itself to insects inevitably getting in the house, but we killed more bugs than is acceptable)
    - dirty/stained bed coverings (we would have brought our own if we had any idea how bad they would be)
    - personal effects like toothbrushes left out, the only soap available to wash hands in most bathrooms were gross bars of soap that had to be over 7 years old
    - a half-eaten carton of ice cream in the freezer with a spoon still in it
    - the coffee table held together by duct tape
    - broken microwave that was not useable
    - the overall degree of clutter in the house
    - television did not work (disappointing on a rainy weekend)

I have been informed that a new cleaning crew has been hired, but I will not stay here again to find out.

As a side note, the property manager, Perry was very responsive to any questions we had and clearly felt bad that we had a sub-par stay. Unfortunately, we just did not feel comfortable in the house because of the lack of cleanliness, which was a real disappointment for a holiday weekend we had been looking forward to for some time.

    Response from Perry:

We sincerely regret that Natalie and her group were not completely satisfied with her stay over Memorial Day Weekend. It was the one of the first rental of 2013 and there were several details that had not been completely ironed out at that time.

First, the weather did not cooperate and they were unable to enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities. Second, the cleaning staff were not yet properly trained and failed in their role. Third, it clearly states in the guide that it is the guests' responsibility to throw out unused food items, etc. and there could never have been items from 2007. Fourthly, the pool is cleaned on a regular schedule as well as on a as required basis. Their arrival date is when the storm blew debris into the pool that the filters are meant to collect and the pool cleaners came as fast as they could to all their clients.

The specific issues she mentions are being addressed and the cleaning staff have been notified so that this will not happen again.

However, after she had checked-in, Natalie had not communicated any concerns, and I believe now, that she wouldn't have been consoled unless she would have been given a nearly free weekend anyways. We offered to refund her the entire cleaning amount and more.

  • A lovely family house, in a quiet part of the Hamptons, with wonderful access to Sag Harbor, East Hampton and Montauk. Everything went smoothly. Lots of useful information was provided by the hosts. There is loads of space. The pool was lovely, and the bbq worked well. Highly recommended.
