Hedonisia Hawaii is an intentional community based on eco-tourism and social enterprise. We welcome travelers from all over the world. The shared facilities are beautifully maintained and jungle style. Our Kitchen and Bathroom are some of the most photographed rooms on the property!
We are located in the neighborhood of Puna in East Hawaii. This area is famous as an alternative area filled with hippies, New Agers and other progressive eco-minded people.
Public transit is rather skeletal. We strongly recommend getting a rental car at the airport as you will be able to visit much more attractions in a short time.
However, we have a good central location with easy paved roads. Driving here is wonderful. Roads are rather empty; drivers are usually polite and filled with aloha! We are 5 miles from Pahoa town and 5 miles to the Ocean!
Our Eco-Tourist Community facilities are all comfortably 'jungle style'! They include shared kitchen, bathroom, private outdoor solar shower.
Interaction with Guests
The lodging is part of the Hedonisia Hawaii Sustainable Community. We have a team of community members that run operations and are there to help you with any questions you might have. They will also be giving you a tour of our property that includes edible rain forest plants and our volcanic crater!
We are in located in the Puna region about five miles from Pahoa town and five miles from the ocean. Our nearest attraction is the Lava Tree State Park about one mile away.
There is limited public transit in this part of Hawaii but the bus does come nearby a few times a day on it's way to town (Pahoa and Hilo) and down toward the beaches.
We recommend renting a vehicle especially if you don't have much time.

Our names are Mojo and Linda and we own Hedonisia Hawaii, a sustainable community retreat in the Hawaiian rain forest. At our community we offer ecofriendly lodgings two of which are featured in the Airbnb website.
Hedonisia is a sustainable community practicing "green tourism" in Hawaii.
As a social enterprise community we also manage websites that deal with women's reproductive rights and gender equality in the world. We may live "out here" in the middle of the Pacific but we are very much engaged in what is happening "out there" in the world!
Every year we travel to Europe and the East Coast of the US to visit our families and also to network, research and write for our web projects. So we are also open to Home Exchanges!
To sum us up in a nutshell. We really enjoy making a living from business activities that also serve environmental or social goals. It allows us to truly live according to our ideals instead of just working some job to pay the bills!
At our community we offer a Community and Feminist Enterprise workshops as well as a Community Manager Internship where others can learn how to do the same!
