  • my stay at eugenio's apartment was lovely. it is secure, and on a quiet street just 10 minutes walk from the cathedral/zocalo. there are several other apartments in the complex; most renters are foreigners who come to study spanish at the language school. i especially enjoyed the shared terrace, which i had to myself most evenings to watch the moon and read my novels. the apartment itself is well-outfitted with a comfortable king bed and everything one might need for basic cooking and housekeeping.

  • We loved the apartment, the neighborhood, and Morelia in general.

Eugenio was welcoming, helpful, and nice. He contacted us prior to our arrival and arranged a time to meet at the apartment. Getting the keys was a smooth and easy process. Eugenio made himself available to answer questions and help us out. He also gave us a map of the colonial center of Morelia, and lists of restaurants, services, and sights near the apartment.

The apartment itself was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed having a place to unpack and relax. I believe there are several available apartments in the building. The apartment we stayed in was on the ground floor, and completely wheelchair accessible (including a walk/roll-in shower with a bench and hand-held shower).

The neighborhood around the apartment felt very safe (as did all of the colonial center of Morelia). We liked being close to the market (5 minute walk), the cathedral (10 minute walk), and the university and lovely Calzada Fray San Antonio pedestrian plaza.

A very positive experience, and we look forward to going back!

  • Eugenio's Casa Baden Powell was great. Very professional, very clean, and very lovely. Morelia was great and I would welcome the opportunity to stay with Eugenio again.

  • My husband and I and our two young kids rented an apartment from Eugenio for our month long stay in Morelia. We loved every minute of our time there! The apartment was very comfortable and the location was perfect. My kids loved being able to walk to all of the little shops, paleterias and bakeries around the corner. I took a week of Spanish classes at Eugenio's language school, Baden Powell Institute, which I would highly recommend as well. Morelia is an incredibly beautiful city with amazing sites and very warm, hospitable people. Thank you Eugenio for making our dream trip possible!

  • The pictures said it all. This was a wonderful apartment. Great décor; easy on the wallet; safe and clean. And even with an unexpected hurt foot, it was well within easy walking to the Historic Centre. We will be back!

  • We loved our stay at this fully self contained apartment in Morelia. We were greeted by Eugenio on our arrival, who was very friendly and helpful. He supplied us with a map and information about things to see and do in Morelia and a list of local shops and services in the area.

The apartment was great value for money. It was tastefully decorated and a good size. It was also in an excellent location, 5 minute walk from the centre of town. We would highly recommend staying here. Value for money and location it couldn't be beaten!

I grew up in Morelia, but life took me to study in North America and Europe. I did my University and post graduate studies in Switzerland, where I lived for ten years. I learned about hospitality and how to introduce others to my city and culture. Additionally, I always wanted to have a property within Old Colonial Morelia, my youth's hometown. Ever since I have enjoyed both traveling and sharing my vacation apartment with foreigners. Morelia is a well kept secret that retains the beauty and flavour of transplanted Spanish towns. I hope you'll enjoy all that Morelia has to offer. You'll want to keep coming back! Eugene Cortes, Morelia, Mexico.
