The guest suite is made up of a large bedroom with two twin beds, dressers and a closet, plus a sitting room with a fridge, coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave, and a full bath -- this is all your private space on the fourth floor of my house. I live on the other three floors. I only take one guest (or one party of two guests) at a time, so you will have this top floor all to yourself and I (and my pets) will be the only other person in the house. You'll get a key to the house and a parking pass.
There is strong wi-fi throughout the house. Nice cotton sheets, fluffy towels and basic toiletries are provided. I have two dogs and two cats who love attention.
NB: Guest suite is on the fourth floor of my house. Lots of stairs!
I live right downtown and the bus station (Peter Pan/Greyhound) and train station (Amtrak) are only a few blocks away. I can often pick guests up at the bus or train stations. Bradley International Airport is about a 20 minute drive.

Springfield is a great mid-way stop between Boston (90 minutes away) and NYC (2.5 hours away by car). If you like history, Historic Deerfield is a 40 minute drive, Brimfield is about 40 minutes (figure on a longer drive during the Antiques Fair), Emily Dickinson's house is in nearby Amherst, MA (40 minute drive), Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe's homes are about 30 minutes away in Hartford, and there are several smaller house museums in the immediate area. Springfield is about an hour from the Berkshires.
This is a great place to stay if you're visiting college students at WNEU (15 minute drive), AIC (5 minute drive), Springfield College (10 minute drive), Elms (15 minute drive), Trinity or St. Joseph's (35 minute drive), U of Hartford (45 minute drive), UMass (45 minute drive), Mt. Holyoke (30 minute drive), Hampshire College (40 minute drive), or Smith (30 minute drive).
Guests have an entire floor with bedroom, sitting room, private bathroom, and mini-kitchen (fridge and microwave).

Erica's home is lovely and in nice pocket neighborhood near downtown Springfield: a great substitute for the Marriott or Sheraton, with free (on street) parking. Erica was extremely accommodating of my arrival schedule, communication was easy, and the space was exactly as advertised.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I didn't spend much time at the house but Erica was attentive to my arrival and departure and made sure I was comfortable before heading on her way. For what I needed for the weekend, it worked well!
We had a great stay at Erica's place. She has an incredible historic home and was quite friendly and welcoming. The location is within walking distance of downtown Springfield but you would never know it once you're inside the apartment. Great option for those looking for a break from the hotel options in the area.
Erica's place is beautiful and enormous! I arrived after dark, but she made sure I was settled and found street parking nearby, as there was a great deal of snow making parking difficult. I had a great private parlor to get work done late into the night and then make my way to bed in the separate room. The area is very private on the top floor and stays considerably warm in winter for an old house. Checking out early in the morning was no trouble, as I had to attend a training in East Longmeadow, and I found her place easily accessible to highways and everything in the area. As the snow continued, Erica offered that I could stay another night so I didn't have to drive back to VT -- I didn't end up having to, but I really appreciated the invitation!
Really nice room, and the private bath and sitting room really made for a "home away from home"; for me, much needed. I was in town to spend some time visiting the hospital, so didn't get to take advantage of Erica's advice on museums, restaurants, etc. That said, the help she did give (parking peculiarities, for instance) were invaluable. Highly recommended!
I had a lovely stay at Erica's place. Her place is just as described and in a great downtown location. I stayed for just one night but in the early morning a snowstorm hit and Erica was super helpful, letting me know about parking options and even offered that I could stay another night should it not be safe to drive. I didn't have to take her up on the offer but really appreciated it! Erica is a wonderful and warm host and I recommend staying at her place very much.
