About this listing
Hey everybody this is a spacious private room in SoCo aka South Congress Ave in Austin. It's in a beautiful modern 4 bedroom remodeled Victorian home and you get a private bathroom with the room. Queen size bed and a fold down sofa in the room with plenty of space to spread out.
You can't beat the location for walking to shopping and dining in Austin. Several of Austin's top restaurants are with in a few blocks. Shopping and strolling on S. Congress is just a few feet out the the front door. Check out my other listings to see all good reviews.
Airbnb has been a great way to share what I love in my city and keep the travel energy alive while I'm home saving for my next trip. I've made a lot of wonderful friends this way I hope you can be the next ones
This place was great. My girlfriend and I stayed and we were a little hesitant at first staying somewhere that had other people also occupying it but it wasn't a problem at all.
The room was very clean and VERY comfortable and the private shower was very convenient.
Location was perfect, we were a small 10min walk from major restaurants and shops. I would def stay here again.
ALSO THE CAT WAS AWESOME
We were not able to meet Matt, but he was prompt in texting us back, and the house/room were clean, beautiful, and welcoming. As were the precious cats! Parking is also ample and convenient, the neighborhood is lovely, and we were within walking distance of some great attractions. It was also nice to have a key for our room to ensure privacy and security. My major complaint is that the bathroom advertised in the picture for our room (C) was not the one provided; we were assigned a "closet toilet" outside the room, and there was a shower with a clear shower curtain just right there in the corner of the bedroom. Normally I wouldn't mind this, but a) it certainly was not what was advertised on the page, and b) I was staying in the room with a friend, which made for awkward shower time. Otherwise, our stay was lovely, though the room was pretty stuffy when we arrived, despite it being cool in the rest of the house. Would probably stay in this house again next time, but maybe one with a shower in its own bathroom? :)
Clean and comfortable. No problems getting in or checking out and I had a nice comfy bed. There were no frills provided in my room. It would have been nice if some basic toiletries were provided and the bathrooms were stocked with more supplies, ie towels, toilet paper, shampoo, etc. Also, my room was freezing at night and there seemed to be no climate control in the house or at least in my room. Overall, it was a suitable place to crash for two days.
Matt was very accommodating for my visit to Austin. My brief time in the room was comfortable and in a great location to SoCo shops and restaurants.
My experience at this apartment was fantastic! It is in a great location on a quiet street one block off SOCO - surrounded by restaurants, stores and more. The house itself is very clean and beautifully decorated ... I would definitely stay there again.
I only met Matt briefly. He seemed like a really nice guy and was very helpful in recommending interesting sites to see in Austin.
My colleague Emily stayed in the room and was very happy about the room and the house. Would definitely recommend it and Matt is a great host.

About the Host, SoCoBnB /Matt
I live in Austin Texas but grew up in Eugene Oregon. I've lived in Colorado for many years and Asia for two years. I'm a photographer, a skier, a cyclist and a climber who loves the mountains. Traveling and meeting interesting new people is my favorite part of life. Airbnb is a great way to make both things happen. I'm always happy to meet other travels and swap stories even if you're not staying with me. I've lived in Austin for a long time and know it well if you're looking for advice.
I keep my house pretty nice but love to rough it when I travel. My favorite places are Haiti, China, India and Eastern Europe.
We're not here for a long time, so we might as well be here for a good time.
