The space

Our private studio apartment, nicknamed the "Music Hall," will take you back in time to when The Hamilton was built in 1893 by Irishman William Hamilton and his wife, Mary. We themed it to be the Music Hall to commemorate Irish musicians of their time, featuring artists such as Turlough O'Carolan.

William and Mary Hamilton emigrated from Ireland to Pittsburgh before the Civil War. Once settled, Mr. Hamilton manufactured coffins for the war, and over time his business became known as the Nation Casket Company. His excellent craftsmanship could be seen throughout the magnificent home, from the hand-crafted mantles to the winding staircase. Around the time of the home's construction, Allegheny City, where the North Side now rests, housed some of the wealthiest people in the country. Over time the wealth decreased, crippled by the Great Depression.

Birgo Realty stepped into the space decades later with a plan to revitalize the Irishman's home to its past splendor. By complementing original features with modern innovations, Birgo Realty restored "The Hamilton" to honor Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton's vision.

Where you’ll be

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

We absolutely love living in historic Manchester! As one of Pittsburgh's original neighborhoods, it's easy to walk to local restaurants and shops. The surrounding homes are stunning.

The stadiums are within walking distance of the apartment. The North Side is a perfect location because it's minutes from everything in the city!

We're a few blocks from one of Pittsburgh's largest park's which hosts many events including the farmer's market on Fridays in the summer/fall. Explore restaurants on Western Ave like Peppi's and Nicky's Thai. Visit nearby museums such as the Carnegie Science Center, Andy Warhol Museum, and Mattress Factory. Check out the beautiful North Shore with stadiums, music venues, and restaurants. Easily cross the river to downtown, Market Square, Strip District, Cultural District, Lawrenceville, and more.

I've toured Europe's castles and Asia's ancient ruins, but I choose to call Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home.

My husband and I moved from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh in 2007 and started a realty company in 2012. We have three wonderful daughters! As a hobby, we like to dance, especially salsa!

Life gets a little crazy running a business and chasing three little kids, so we have a team to help run our rentals.

When my husband and I aren't running the company, we love to get out of the country and travel! Some of our favorite places are Italy, Scotland, Cape Town, Costa Rica, and Thailand. We hope to reach Australia soon!
