Hidden off Luckenbach Rd. in the heart of wine country, Casa Luna Rosa is perfect for gatherings of family and friends. Designed by an award winning architect, this gracious home is the perfect place to enjoy the quiet and nature of the countryside and the sunset after a day of exploring.

The space
Casa Luna Rosa was designed by architects John Speegle and Chris Carson, recipient of the 2019 Texas Society of Architects Honor Award and over 35 other architectural awards. Instrumental in developing Southwest Regional Architecture, Mr. Carson also designed the Cowboy Artists of America Museum in Kerrville and Cibolo Creek Ranch in West Texas. Built in 1987, comfortable and eclectic, Casa Luna Rosa was designed with our 5 children in mind and it contains many happy memories.

Other things to note
Arrive during daylight if possible. Use care when crossing Lower South Grape Creek. Stay in the middle and do not cross when water is high. Call Mark or Katherine for instructions if water is high.
No pesticides are used on the property, so you may encounter wildlife and insects.
Please drive slowly on the caliche driveway.

Neighborhood highlights

Casa Luna Rosa is 10 miles East of Fredericksburg, 5 miles West of Stonewall and 3 miles from Luckenbach. Tucked away in the woods, a mile down an unpaved road and across a low water crossing, it has a large West facing porch and a private courtyard. While it feels very secluded, it is accessible to wineries, Luckenbach and Fredericksburg.

I retired from the City of Fredericksburg after 27 years. I have 5 grown children and 9 little grandchildren, and the oldest is now 9. My kids grew up on Luckenbach Road and went to the Stonewall Elementary School. We now enjoy kayaking, bicycle touring, camping and birdwatching.
