The place is the most quiet and relaxing complex in the area offering luxury and amenities in a very peaceful and friendly environment.
This is a very flexible listing. There are absolutely no house rules instead of course of taking care of the guesthouse.
The apartment is located remotely in the mountains (1 hr drive from Chania) in a complex of 5 apartments. In March the area is very quite and peaceful which we liked very much. But you need to organize your supplies beforehand as you won't find bigger grocery shops around. From Moni it is a close drive to Sougia where you can enjoy the beach. We did some great day hikes in the area around.
The apartment is very nicely decorated and just beautiful. It felt very special to live there. Marianne awaited us late at midnight and had even prepared some food for us which was so lovely as our journey was quite long. The apartment is cleaned every day - what a luxury. Marianne helped us in every sense when we needed advice for hike trips or in general matters. Service was really perfect! We're are still enjoying the bottle of olive oil which we got as a farewell present! Thanks again. We very much enjoyed our stay and can highly recommend the place for hikers or peace-seekers.
We spent four nights at the Estates and while the weather was most uncooperative we had an amazing time. From daily local tastes of Crete to a very comfortable covered patio from which to watch the storms we were relaxed and very comfortable. Crete may be my new favorite place on earth, and while Sougia is a bit remote, the mountains are fabulous and George and Marianna couldn't be more helpful. If you want to hike you can be sure to find challenging terrain, but if you just want to relax with delightful people, you can also do that! We will come back to Crete, and when we do, we will return to Sougia!
Our stay in George's place was just perfect. The apartment is really beautiful and wonderfully decorated, not to mention its position in a spot of absolute quiet and tranquility. It is also very handy to reach the major attractions of the region.
Last but not least, George, Marianna and Katerina were great hosts that welcomed us with the best hospitality this island can offer.
I would definitely come back and suggest it to my friends!
BEAUTIFUL space. Very tastefully decorated and at an amazingly peaceful location in the mountain with beautiful views. It is a converted monastery so impressive wooden beams and lots of original features create a unique atmosphere. The pretty town of Sougia is an easy 10 min drive and full of nice restaurants and bars. The beach is excellent too, with clean waters to swim in. The location is great for some amazing hikes including Samaria and Agia Eirini gorges, walk to the ancient town of Lissos and the cave of Polyphemus, cyclops of Odysseus travels fame. The hosts are super nice, relaxed and very helpful. Very highly recommended option for holidaying in Crete!
The apartments are placed in the mountains. The location is really beautiful! A quiet, lonely and relaxed place. The rooms are cozy and decorated with much love. Plenty of space and privacy even on the terraces.
The photos on Airbnb correspond absolutely to the original.
The next place is Soughia 10 minutes by car.
We spent the first three nights in the "deluxe apartment" on the ground floor. Beautiful but unfortunately there are two drawbacks. Only doors (living room and bedroom) for ventilation but no windows. In addition, the masonry is somewhat moist.
The apartment on the first floor was light-flooded and corresponded to the description on Airbnb. The only drawback were the noisy woodworms in the rafters directly behind the bed.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay very much. Katherina was always courteous and helpful. The landscape and the design of the apartments were incredibly beautiful.
