About this listing
A cosy studio apartment (25 m2) only 30 minutes by communal traffic to Stockholms city centre, still nature is just around the corner!
Whats makes my studio apartment very special is that it is situated in what was formerly one of Swedens largest mental hospitals during the 20th century - Beckomberga. The hospital was closed down in 1995 and is now being totally renovated and made in to regular apartments. If this creeps you out, don't worry, my apartment is located in the old administration building. It's a beautiful building with the typical 1920 large windows and white walls.
Visitors will have access to the whole apartment which includes a small pentry with a fridge and microwave, a private bathroom and a large common kitchen which i situated right outside my door as well as a common area with sofas and tv.
No need to bring towels or sheets, I have plenty. There will also be coffee and tea for your use.
Interaction with guests
I will give you the keys and show you the neighbourhood when you arrive but I will not be in the apartment or building while you're here.
For the most part I will be in the city and able to help you if you need any help with sightseeing and so on.
You will also be able to reach me on email or phone
Beckomberga is a great neighbourhood approximately 30 minutes from the city centre, still nature is just around the corner as well as Mälaren, if you want to go for a swim.
If you're into nerdy historical stuff just like me I will tell you about two sight that you would not want to miss while staying in Beckomberga: 10 minutes walking (or 3 minutes by bus) will take you to Bromma Kyrka, with is a beautiful church from the 1200th century. What is so special about it, is that the traditional medieval paintings have been preserved, some of them made by Swedens most famous late medieval painter - Albertus Pictor.
If you're in to more recent history, I would suggest that you'd take a walk to Vällingby Centrum (20 minutes walk in a beautiful area). Vällingby got world famous in the 1950's for being a unique, well-planned city district and a symbol of the Swedish middle-way welfare state. This is also where one of our most famous prime ministers - Olof Palme lived.
In Vällingby there is also plenty of shopping and a cinema. If you're wondering about supermarkets there is one just 10 minutes from the apartment as well as a couple in Vällingby and in Brommaplan.
The apartment is a 7-10 minutes walk from the two different buses that will take you to the metro (Brommaplan or Islandstorget) or the commuter train (Spånga). From there it's a 15-20 minutes ride to Stockholms city centre.
I expect any guests to leave the place cleaned and in the same order as before you rented it. Animals are not allowed as well as smoking inside, however there is a balcony in the corridor where you can smoke.
