The Space

Thank you for looking at our entry. We hope that you will book to stay in our home and have a great time. We love living here in Cheltenham and would be delighted if you fell in love with the area too.

We open our house up to guests when we are away. Our home is a modern detached 5 bedroom house on a private estate at the western edge of Cheltenham. You can see the outside of the house from the park right outside.

The house has accommodation for up to 12 people in beds. This is as follows:

1 SuperKing Room located on the first floor. This room faces south with views across the park. This room is en ensuite
1 Twin Room. This room is opposite the superking room and again faces south from the house. This is our son Alex's bedroom so the twin beds are at low level making them very suitable for children.
1 Double Bedroom which is behind the twin room on the first floor of the house. This room faces north and is the only room with a view of the garden

The family bathroom is on the first floor

1 Double Bedroom on the second floor which faces south
1 Room with 2 French Doubles on the second floor, again facing southwards with views over the park and over roofs to Cleeve Hill in the distance. This is a vary adaptable room. We will make up one of the French double beds and leave the sofabed with bedding for you to use if you wish. Please be aware that when both beds are deployed this room is a little "cosy" so most suitable for good friends!

These to bedrooms share a small WC to save tackling the stairs in the middle of the night

and there is a very comfortable sofa in the living room where an additional 2 guests can sleep!

The accommodation comprises the following:

Ground Floor where there is a large living room with TV. There is also a baby grand piano. French windows lead out onto a patio and then the garden beyond. In addition there is a office room and a good sized eat-in kitchen which will seat (cosily) 10 people. There is a utility / drying room off the kitchen.

The kitchen is equipped with dishwasher, microwave, double oven, hob and of course a big fridge/freezer.

The whole ground floor has underfloor heating while the rooms above are heated by radiators. All of the bedrooms also have electric heaters for an extra bit of warmth if needed.

First Floor. The master bedroom has a super-king bed and faces the front of the house with views over the park. There is an en suite shower room to this room. Also on the first floor is a shared bathroom and two bedrooms, one facing the front of the house (twin) and the other looking at the back garden (double). This room has a TV and a Blu-Ray player.

On the second floor are two more rooms, one set up as a double bedroom and one with a pair of double sofa beds. Both of these rooms face the front of the house and look out over the park and with views to Cleeve Hill in the distance. There is a small lavatory on this floor which these rooms share.

Outside the house we have a tandem drive which will, at a squeeze fit three cars. If you drive a plug in then we have electric charging which you can use. There is also on street parking around the park.

The area is quiet and the community tends to gather around the park which is enclosed. Most of the neighbours are young families and there are almost always kids kicking a ball around in the park.

A short walk away you will find supermarkets and WholeFood shops. You will also find buses to Cheltenham, Tewkesbury and Gloucester close by. There is a Beefeater a short walk away and then a little further some lovely pubs and restaurants. If you are visiting in the winter and lucky enough to be snowed in then you won't go short of provisions!

Cheltenham is a great base for exploring, especially The Cotswolds, The Malverns and a little further away Herefordshire and South Wales while being only 45 minutes from Bristol, Birmingham, Oxford and Swindon. London is a couple of hours away and there are direct train and bus services to London and Heathrow airport from Cheltenham and Gloucester.

While Cheltenham is in the centre of the country there are watersports nearby at Cotswolds Water Park and beaches about an hour away at Weston Super-Mare (although we tend to head for Ogmore in South Wales).

We supply towels and bedding for you and we will leave each guest some hand made soap. We have a large bowl of toiletries should you forget something which you need.

Guest Access

You will have access to the house and the garden. As this is our family home we will leave clothes in drawers and so on but will leave hanging space and storage for you to use.

Interaction with Guests

You will have use of the house when we are not at home so you will likely not see us. Our local property managers will make sure that the house is pristine and will help you with any issues and make sure that you are well looked after.

On rare occasions it is not possible for them to meet you in person but a secure key store is provided. If this is the case then we shall let you know.

The Neighborhood

The house is located on a small modern estate to the west of Cheltenham. There is plenty of on street parking and some parking on the drive

Getting Around

We are a short taxi ride from Cheltenham Spa railway station, close to Gloucestershire airport (if you are arriving by executive jet) and we are on four bus routes to Cheltenham & Tewkesbury (41, 42, C, H)

Other Things to Note

We have access to electric vehicle charging facilities. If you are looking to hire a car then we are walking distance from Enterprise.

The Cotswolds is a rural area, easily accessed from our home but you should be aware that bus services in rural areas are not very frequent so we are best suited to your having a car.
