Overview of Property:
This adorable 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom casita is ready and waiting for its next guests! The freshly painted and updated interior has a welcoming vibe. The house is perfectly situated in a neighborhood with walkable bars and restaurants and the adjoining Art District area of downtown San Jose. If you want views, amenities, and a place to yourself, this casa is for you!

The space
The house:
The property is well designed and offers the convenience of all first floor living but also the opportunity to use second floor to take in the views. Each floor is equipped with one bedroom, one bathroom and one outside lounge space. There is off street parking for one vehicle and beautiful hardscaping throughout.

The first floor has a kitchen, living, and outside dining space. The pool is located right outside the living room next to the outdoor dining and pergola. From the first floor you can see some mountain views and enjoy the privacy the property offers.

The second floor is accessed through an exterior stair. With 340 days of sunshine, you almost never need to worry about the weather! At the top of the staircase you will be blown away by the 240 degree views. Mountains towards Todos, Mountains of the East Cape, and the ocean! You can even see the giant Mexican flag in downtown! The second floor patio space is large and perfect for relaxing and group entertaining. You get both sunsets and sunrises with this view.

The area:
The house is located in an expat loved area. From the house you can easily stroll (5-10 min) to bars and restaurants such as: Guacamayas, Hangman Bar, and Rossy's.

San Jose Downtown Art District is a nice 20 min walk downhill (1.8km / ~1mi). Thursday is the official Art Walk night and is always bustling with vendors for art, jewelry and street food!

Grocery stores are a short drive away. I recommend Chedraui and often refer to it as the Gucci grocery :)

The Chamizal neighborhood where Casa Blanca is located is a vibrant community full of cafes, taco joints, and various other restaurants. A local favorite for tacos and Mexican is Las Guacamayas, it’s a short walk down the hill from the house. Guacamayas features amazing tacos de pastor as well as a live mariachi nightly.

Dantes is a local sports bar that is great for watching UFC/boxing at night or just grabbing a bite of typical bar food. While we have yet to try it ourselves The Hangman Bar is neighborhood staple. If you are in the mood for something a little finer, El Matador Restaurant offers a exquisite food and a beautiful court yard dining experience. These are all easily within walking distance.

If you are going to venture outside of Chamizal some of our other favorites are: Habaneros (try the jalapeno-basil margarita, trust me ), Vaca Tinta, El Barrio Tango, Don Sanchez, Casa Don Rodrigo and La Lupita. These are all located in/near the Historic Downtown.

Thursday night starting in November is Art Walk night. The square is full of local artists selling their artwork while the various art shops stay open late in the area around historic downtown. The Art Walk route is denoted by multicolored flags strewn above the streets. This is an event you don’t want to miss.

Watersports are plentiful in the area as well. There are a few good surf breaks right in town. Deep sea fishing is world class here.

Golf is readily available in Los Cabos, in SJD there is Vidanta, Club Campestre among others.
