A very cosy Victorian house, situated in a quiet area of South London.
You will have your own comfortable room and bathroom, and a table in the garden for breakfast al fresco! We also have internet and a 55-inch TV.
We are located in zone 2, and a 10 minute walk from Elephant and Castle tube station(zone 1), and only a few minutes walk away to the Walworth Road where you can find many shops, amenities and services. Also very close to East Street market, a great daily market that sells fruit, veg and fish. We also have a corner shop near to the house which is great for buying basic provisions.
There are amazing bus connections to most of London, and all are located near to the house. By bus:
Central London - 20-30 minutes
East End/Brick Lane/Spitalfields Market - 25 minutes
Borough Market - 10 minutes
There are bikes for rent on the main road, or you can walk to Southbank and Tate Modern.
Nearby Burgess Park, which has been recently refurbished is a 5 minute walk away and offers a great place for a long stroll!
your pictures and description are deceiving,Lola,s place is rundown inside, the carpet was dirty the toilet, bathroom and kitchen were third world, the bedroom and loungeroom were just passable, forget about the outside dining, the only thing going for it is it,s (email hidden)eg & margie.
On the positive side the appartment is located very close to the centre of London, 5 minutes to bus stops and 15 minutes to the tube. If energetic it takes 30 minutes to walk to Waterloo bridge. Good selection of local shops, lovely parks close by.
On the negative site it is very old, run down and could do with a good clean. Carpet and walls badly stained, paint and wall paper coming away from walls, mould staining in toilet, blinds dont work properly and bits of material hanging from them attaced with clothes pegs. There was an unpleasant smell and the sitting ares felt damp.
The outdoor area was covered with garden rubbish, with sitting area over grown and the fence held up with two bits of wood propping it up from the wall of the appartment.
Not the cosy appartment we were expecting, we were surprised it was deemed fit for rental.
You have a lovely place. Beautiful area. The kitchen and courtyard especially! So convenient to the bus and tube and the local Tesco Express for shopping. Had no problem getting around. Would stay again for future travels to London!
ENGLISH:Typically londonian house, in a nice genuine district very well situated as for transports and shops.
A direct bus 7/7; 24/24, takes you from St Pancras, you can go everywhere in London and several lines run nightly (website hidden) 10 days, we took the Underground only once.
At East street market, Chaplin's birth street, you can find everything cheaper than in France (and central London), veg and fruit, meat and fish, flowers!
And in Wolworth St all sorts of shops.
There are 3 rooms with all you need, the atmosqhere (really arty), the decoration is beautiful, and there is an adorable little garden where we had lunch sometimes. It's clean.
Some people complain about the "noise", but it's just usual neighbourhood sounds from people who use the stairs, go to work and talk sometimes.Nothing outrageaous.
A negative point: the sheets and quilt are way too small, nothing very important.
Thank you Lola, and Paco and his friends for welcome and answers.
Lola's place was cozy as the photos indicate. The place was easy to find and central. Lola's neighbour was there with key as we had arranged. I enjoyed the outside sitting spot and the lovely tub. The area is vibrant with lots of great ethnic food and shopping. Thanks Lola for sharing your home.
Overall decent quality/rate ratio, considering how difficult and expensive it is to find lodging in London. Good sides: 5 min away from major bus stations that bring you downtown in 15' or so, spacious apartment, grocery stores and East Street market nearby, convenient check in at an early hour. Bad sides: apartment appeared old (both furnitures, floor, walls), pretty humid, noisy (footsteps of upstairs neighbors and stairs creaking), shower tap not working perfectly, appliances updated, check out had to be quite early (10am).
Recommended if you're looking to stay within your budget (and if you don't have very young kids).
Simplemente maravilloso!
Fantastic house, I had a great time staying there - it looked even better then in the pictures (it had a lot more space than I could see from the pictures). It was very warm, cozy and clean.Very convenient location that makes it easy to get around to multiple areas. I was extremely pleased. I would highly recommend this apartment and would love to stay there again!
Lola's house is very nice for a short stay in London, especially for people on a budget. It's not the most modern of accommodation on the list, but it is very charming. The small garden and colorful rooms give a nice atmosphere. We struggled a bit with the towel rack in the bathroom, and the shower tap is not working very well, but there were no major problems otherwise. A toaster in the kitchen would be a fantastic addition too ;-) The bus connections are excellent night and day, and there are also 2 convenient metro stations about 10 minutes walk away. Paco has been very helpful to organize collection of the keys. I would definitely stay there again on a next trip to London.
Nice apartment. Very spacious and clean. Bathroom and kitchen were very clean - very appreciated. Very good location, close to many major bus lines and a Metro station. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores around. Bad sides - apartment appeared old, but you are in an old city. Appliances were updated. Host was nice, although had some trouble with contact. After contacting Airbnb, they settled the problem. In a safe area, you just have to be cautious, as in everywhere you go. Have to be aware of surroundings. I would recommend it if you are not expecting a 5 star hotel. It is good for its price. Bad side - it was noisy, can hear the footsteps of upstairs neighbors and stairs creaking. It didn't bother but if you are a light sleeper, consider that. That is out of control of the host though.
Great house and would definitely recommend staying here for a visit to London. Lola is a great host and Paco was very helpful.
