Margaret and I have visited Bermuda more times than we can count over the last few decades and I can say we have rarely been so well treated and happy with our digs as we were with Stephen and Faith's cottage. They are genuinely nice people -- more like friends than landlords. They are Old Bermuda, and we will be coming back for more.
The cottage was even better than advertised. There was nothing that needed improvement. The host Steve was on the top of everything, and donated even his own time to make our stay as good as possible. The cottage is centrally located( in relations to two major towns Hamilton & St. George) and bus stop is about 1 minute walk from the house. This is a plus, but can be a problem for those that are very noise sensitive as traffic is quite busy( Flatts village is a small, but very busy area). Pedestrians walk mainly on the road against trafic. Majority of the areas do not have sidewalks. However, drivers are very nice, tolerant & used to having people walking on the road. In summary the cottage & the host were fantastic. The location wan't ideal for family with two year old child.
Stephen and Faith were wonderful hosts! The cottage was exactly as advertised- a little piece of our own Bermuda! Stephen and Faith made sure we felt completely at home and helped us on our way to exploring Bermuda while we were there. Their thoughtful tips about where to go and where to eat made our vacation all the more enjoyable and relaxing. They did a fantastic job putting together all of the maps, brochures, and gear for us so that once we arrived we were able to hit the beach straight away! We were sad to leave and will definitely come back!
We had a wonderful week at the cottage. It. was just perfect, very welcoming, cozy, comfortable and clean. All of the comforts of home!! A full sized refrigerator/freezer, oven, dishwasher, full sized washer and dryer and barbecue grill. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies you may need, town is just a few bus stops away. Stephen and Faith made us feel very welcome. They made the arrangements for our trips to and from the airport with Wayne and made a reservation at Rustico’s for the day we arrived. Sad to say we are back in the freezing cold (-27C) and missing beautiful Bermuda. We will be back to stay again, Fay and Doug.
Such a great experience-I travel a lot and both my fiancee and me are pretty picky, but EVERYTHING was well-though through. On arrival in Bermuda, Stephen arranged to have friendly cabdriver Wayne pick us up at the airport and took us right to the door. Stephen and Faith met us on arrival at the cottage and showed us around- they couldn't have been nicer. The cottage was absolutely beautiful- just like the pictures and they though of just about everything. The place feels like home- and with washer/dryer and wifi, it was easy to relax sitting on the front or side porch. While the weather was cold for Bermuda, it was WAY warmer than in NYC, and we both look forward to coming back in the future!
Stephen and Faith provided a beautiful "home away from home" experience with their Bermuda cottage. The cottage is totally modern and updated with the highest quality appliances and utensils. The cottage is complete, nothing has been overlooked. Stephen and Faith, as hosts, were perfect. They provided support and assistance from arrival to departure. Taxi service to and from the airport was prearranged. We can totally recommend staying at this lovely Bermuda cottage.
