  • This cute cottage is near perfect! It is very clean. The kitchen and bath are beautifully decorated. I especially loved the alcove in the bathroom right at the perfect level for storing your beauty supplies. The towels are plush. The kitchen utensils and dishes, etc. are plentiful. There are lots of pillows and bedding. There is a walk in closet for storing your stuff. There is a back, side and front outdoor area for relaxing. It was a very peaceful, welcoming place to return to after a busy day of sightseeing. The host, Stephen, was always available but not intrusive at all. It is ideally located centre island and steps from a bus stop. It is very quiet at night. We felt very safe the whole time we were there. If returning to Bermuda, this is the only place we would stay.

  • Stephen and his Bermuda Cottage provided one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. Stephen is by far the best host we have encountered, and we have traveled extensively. Stephen went above and beyond to help coordinate our arrival, as well as plan our vacation in Bermuda. He went so far as to arrange transportation to and from the airport and even made dinner reservations for the night we arrived. The Cottage was perfect. It is a short walk from Flatts Village and the water. Its central location provides easy access to all parts of the island. The cottage itself is beautiful and is meticulously maintained. The kitchen is well stocked, and the backyard provides a great retreat to eat outside or grill. We look forward to returning and highly recommend staying at the Bermuda Cottage!

  • Our recent 4-week visit from the UK to Stephen Caton’s absolutely charming and very well-appointed Bermuda cottage, “The Nursery”, was our first Airbnb experience and we are delighted to say that it could not have been a more positive one. The warmth of Stephen’s welcome and his excellent briefing on essential tourist information on our arrival were matched by an exceptional willingness to provide any and all possible additional assistance in making our stay as enjoyable as possible. From arranging a taxi from the airport and making a table reservation in a nearby restaurant for that evening to maintaining contact throughout the visit to establish that we had everything we needed and arranging a taxi back to the airport, he made us feel really looked after the entire time. Indeed, having identified in advance our particular interests and objectives in visiting Bermuda, Stephen went to great lengths to provide information specifically designed to enhance our visit and it was solely thanks to literature provided to David that we were able to visit several former military sites of great interest that we would otherwise certainly have missed. The cottage was perfect for our needs in that it provided a very comfortable and fully equipped “home base” from which to explore the islands and we particularly appreciated the seclusion and privacy that it afforded us. We had no difficulty with shopping as there are several very good supermarkets sited close to bus stops and the small “open all hours” convenience store just across the road proved handy also. The location of The Nursery could not have been more convenient for us, being not only situated in the lovely location that is Flatts Village but being served by several regular bus services on routes that gave ready access to, or connections to, all parts of these fascinating islands. It was also the starting point for walks to the excellent local nature reserve of Spittal Pond, sections of the “Bermuda Railway Trail” and the nearby aquarium and zoo. Stephen’s advice on walking routes was very welcome and we soon adjusted to the presence of traffic on the few sections of roads/lanes which had to be negotiated in order to connect with traffic-free sections of the excellent “Bermuda Railway Trail”, the many nature reserves and parks and the miles of beautiful coastline. What can we say? We could not have enjoyed our trip more and we would recommend unreservedly Stephen Caton as a host and The Nursery as a place in which to feel at home whilst exploring a truly lovely location where tourists are offered a genuinely warm and friendly welcome and there is an atmosphere of courtesy, consideration for others and old-fashioned good manners that is especially rare in other parts of the world. Once againe, Stephen, thank you very much indeed.

  • We had a great stay at the Dean Hall Nursery. Stephen was a great host, and the cottage was perfect. He arranged for us taxi to pick us up and take us back to the airport and I like to tanks Shirleen for her taxi service. The place is really well located with 3 bus lines right around the corner but route 3 stop is just in front on the cottage. The furnishings and equipment in the cottage were so complete that you could easily stay for a long vacation in complete comfort. You can rent a scooter but I could tell you one thing , the bus service in very good and it does give you more time to see the beaty of Bermuda. Merci Stephen mille fois

  • We had a great stay at the Dean Hall Nursery. Stephen was a great host, and the cottage was perfect. The location is central making it only a short scooter ride to go anywhere. We went from one end of the the island to the other, and found the people and the sites to be wonderful. Although January is what they call winter, it was summer for me. Out of the snow, and on the beach, and swimming was wonderful. Although a few things were closed for the season, there were no crowds, and everything was brilliant. I will certainly be making my way back to the cottage. It has absolutely everything you need, and very comfortable.

    Thanks Stephen!

  • The cottage is perfect, and Stephen is a terrific host! This was our first visit to the island, and we were there for the Bermuda Marathon weekend. Dean Hall Nursery turned out to be the perfect home base for us. We were a bit adventurous an opted to rent a scooter (Elbow Beach Cycles) during our stay, and it was the best choice! If you are there for the races, a scooter or a cab will be the only options to get you to the starting lines from the cottage. We loved the flexibility of having the scooter, and the excitement of zipping all around the island as we wanted. (We also used the bus on the first day and to get to Elbow Beach on day 2 to pick up the scooter, and it was very convenient as well. Just doesn't run quite early enough to get you comfortably to the race start on Saturday or Sunday)

The cottage is in a great location, we were a 10-15 minute scooter ride to Hamilton, as well as to St. George in the opposite direction. The little village of Flatt's is lovely and has a few good food options within walking distance (Rustico), and we even found that Four Star pizza will deliver to Dean Hall :) We also made it over to the Aquarium on our last day, definitely worth the visit, and has a nice gift shop for souvenirs.

The area felt very safe, and the cottage is very private. We didn't miss any of the amenities of staying in a large hotel, as Stephen provides everything you could need! The kitchen was a big plus for us, as we were able to prepare many of our own meals. We walked over to the local convenience store several times, there you'll find basics like milk, juice, bread and snacks. We also purchased calling cards to dial home, and went there for forgotten toiletries.

In spite of some rainy weather (a notorious condition during marathon weekend) and it not being quite warm enough to enjoy the ocean in January, my husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay, and we would highly recommend the cottage to anyone visiting Bermuda, to those who don't mind a quaint place that's not "in town" and are ok with taking cabs, the bus or renting a scooter to get around.

We hope to have a chance to return one day and enjoy the beautiful cottage and all Bermuda has to offer!

  • Stephen is a wonderful host. He made us aware of a personal taxi to pick us up and take us back to the airport but as we have friends on the island we made use of their hospitality. On our eventual arrival at the cottage Stephen was there to greet us and our friends and he showed us around the cottage, gave us use of a local cell phone and showed us all the amenities of the property. The cottage is a home away from home and has everything you would ever need for a wonderful vacation. We made use of the buses, ferries and scooters. All information about the island and transportation systems are well laid out in brochures in the cottage. Although we were there in the off season we found plenty to do and see including two swims in the ocean, touring the dockyard, aquarium and zoo, arboretum, botanical gardens, St. Georges, Hamilton, taking in a rugby match, enjoying the local restaurants, diners and coffee shops. We have already recommended this cottage to a number of friends and will certainly stay here again when we return to Bermuda. We hope you enjoy your stay there as much as we did! Janice & Richard

  • GREAT! This place was just perfect!

    PROS:
The place is really well located with 3 bus lines right around the corner, and this is important in Bermuda! There is no car rentals in the island, only scooter rentals (and it is dangerous out there, we avoided renting one). We would not recommend walking either, since there are very few sidewalks (which appear and disappear almost randomnly on the island roads), the roads are not wide, and cars are driven way past the speed limit... So, tourist way of transportation are taxis (expensive, but very realiable and well maintained) or buses (not expensive and very reliable and well maintained :)) We preferred buses, and the cottage location is just about perfect for moving around with the bus.
There is a small store right by the corner which is open late at night. Really useful.
It is 5 minutes non-dangerous-walking from Flatts with a couple of nice restaurants not far.
It is 6 minutes safe-sidewalk-walking from the Bermuda Aquarium (a must see!)
You have a big detached cottage all to yourself with EVERYTHING you may need (except perishable food): ketchup, mustard, salt, vinegar, olive oil, some beers in the Fridge, a bottle of wine, great gas BBQ, iron, shampoo, gel, conditioner, hair iron, hair drier, dehumidifier, Bermuda guides, Bermuda maps, bikes, air conditioning, iPhone music dock, flat TV, DVD player, cable TV, beach towels ... even a cellphone to call inside Bermuda!! We spent 6 days there and everything I could have needed during this time was there. It was like being at home, but better, because everything was stored in a logical place and I could find it quite easily ;)
The place was spotless and very well furnished.
There is a washing machine, a dryer and a diswasher, with all the needed detergent.
The price in relation to what you get is about the best in Bermuda!

    CONS:
Road noise. The cottage is right by the Middle Road, which is fantastic in terms of mobility if you want to visit the island, but it is a bit noisy due to the traffic. I must say that this was definitely not a problem for us: the fact that we could easily reach 3 different bus lines from the cottage clearly made the extra noise bearable for us.

All in all, I cannot recommend it more! Just buy a some steaks ans a salad on your way there. That's all you will need to enjoy this place! Everything else is provided ;)

  • We had an really amazing time on Bermuda
Dean Hall Nursery was a real home from home for us and Stephen was a very gracious host
Stephen arranged pickups to and from the airport for us, and a booking at Rustico for our first night, where the food is excellent. Truly I would say that nothing was too much trouble for him, and hopefully we will be returning to repeat a great experience
