We absolutely loved Fiona's apartment. It is in a wonderful location, with lots to do in the area. And, it's away from all the touristy-type things, but still located in a conveniently. We stayed here for 3.5 months, and it really became our home. We miss it already.
This is a cozy apartment in a great neighbourhood, close to the University and with easy access to anywhere you want to go in downtown Chiang Mai. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the balcony where we sat every morning and evening, and we took full advantage of the large pool for a daily swim. The apartment was very clean when we arrived, wifi works well, staff in the building are pleasant and there is an excellent and inexpensive laundry service in the building. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
The apartment was just as listed, clean and bright with lots of sun on the balcony in the morning. The internet was fast and reliable. My partner and I stayed here for over 1 month and really enjoyed exploring the up and coming Nimmen neighbourhood, lot of lovely places to eat and some nice gallery and studio spaces down some of the side streets. The area around the apartment was quiet and safe.
We were working remotely during our stay in Chiang Mai and found a few good places to work close by. One of which was CAMP a new 24hr shared work space/cafe in the nearby Maya mall, definitely worth checking out!
It was pretty easy to hail a red cab if we needed to get into the city center. We also rented bicycles which were pretty cheap, but it's probably best to stick with cabs or rent a motorbike if you feel comfortable doing so as cycling was a bit hair-raising and there is much more infrastructure for bikes and scooters (places to park etc.)
We also managed to check out the Chiang Mai Design Week which was taking place from December 10-14th. Being graphic/web designers we found this really interesting and the festival itself was very well organized.
The weather here was incredible! We arrived on November 7th, left on December 13th and it didn't rain once during that entire time! Every day was sunny and warm. Having the outdoor pool in the building during the first few very hot weeks was such a treat. It was usually very quiet there and we spent a lot of time around the pool reading and relaxing.
We climbed Doi Suthep, the start of the trail was close to our apartment which was handy. We also spent a day in Pai (3 hrs by bus from the Arcade bus station), though we could have stayed longer.
Fiona was very quick to respond to any questions we had about the apartment or Chiang Mai and we would definitely stay here again if we return to Chiang Mai. We had a lovely time and it was very hard to leave.
Fiona is a great host. Provided all necessary information and was responsive to contact.

About the Host, Fiona
I used to live in Chiang Mai working as a musician with my band, Sabai. This apartment was my home and is now equipped for short to mid term visitors. It is comfy and spacious and a great base for spending time in the city or getting out of town to the many attractions around Northern Thailand.
