About this listing

The space

Western House Bed and Breakfast is a small family run business situated in the picturesque village of Llangennith. The village is located at the western edge of the spectacular Gower Peninsula. The area is famed for its outstanding coastline and majestic beaches and is popular with walkers, climbers and surfers. The house is located about half a mile from the main beach and just down the road from the village pub “The King’s Head”.

The B&B;

The accommodation is uniquely decorated and was featured on the S4C programme “Four Walls”. There are three guest rooms, and all rooms are en-suite, have colour televisions and tea/coffee making facilities. Your room is a very comfortable double room.

Breakfast comprises a full cooked breakfast. As well as vegetarian option being offered. More adventurous guests may want to sample the local laverbread (seaweed). Try our free range eggs.

Surfing / Walking;

The Gower Peninsula, Wales’ Premier surfing area is ideally located to receive swells generated by mid and South Atlantic low pressure systems. The rugged scenic coastline offers a wide variety of breaks – all with sheltered bays providing coves when smugglers rode in on 150 years ago. These bays have untold secrets for the dedicated surfer to find.

The local beach Llangennith Beach (Rhossili Bay) is the indicator beach for the Gower area. Llangennith picks up just about any swell hitting the South Wales coast. With three miles of beach Llangennith remains relatively uncrowded and is surfable at any stage of the tide.

There are three surf schools that operate on the local beach: Welsh Surfing Federation Surf School. For an up to the minute surf heck please use the web-cam at: Llangennith Surf Cam. For local board hire please visit PJ’s Surf Shop.

My friend and I had a perfect stay. The apartment offers you the best opportunity for peace and quiet near the beach. The room is so nice decorated and the breakfast was great. You get a very welcome feeling and I would definitely go there again. Many thanks

Fab stay at a lovely B&B. Great location really close to the beach, lovely people, very welcoming and helpful, especially with giving us somewhere to dry our wetsuits. The dogs are really friendly too!

Lovely room with en-suite shower. Excellent cooked breakfast in the morning! Not too far from the beach (short walk or quick drive). We were even allowed to hang our wetsuits in the wet room after surfing. Good food up the local pub!

Had a lovely stay on the Gower basing ourselves at Pippa & Steve's B&B. We stayed on the top floor with amazing views through the velux windows of the coast & stars at night! Pippa & Steve were both extremely warm, welcoming and helpful in anyway they could be. Cooked breakfast was tasty & did just the trick to help with the hangover from the wedding we attended at Oldwalls the night before! Only advice for potential guests in the top room is that the beams are low and can be hard if you turn around quickly to rush out towards the sides of the room! Que one not too serious lump/egg on my head for the wedding reception! On the whole though definitely a positive experience and would recommend to anyone.

I'm Pippa, I run Western House B&B with my husband Steve, which is also our family home. As a family run guest house, we're kid friendly, dog friendly, and surfer friendly. You'll find us as colourful as our home!

We'll give you all the local tips on where to walk and surf, and where to hire surf kit.

We're looking forward to meeting you soon!
