Welcome to The Love Shack, a place where we can get together!
At The Love Shack we provide you with a unique experience while giving you the basic amenities so you can rest easy. Explore off grid living only 30 minutes away from Grand Canyon National Park!

The space

Due to the recent events we want to reassure anyone who is interested in staying at The Love Shack that we take your safety seriously. We clean the bed, surfaces, and bathroom area in between all guests. We also keep cleaning supplies inside the camper for guests to use during their stay. Hand sanitizer and disinfectant are provided but feel free to bring extra supplies to ensure proper cleanliness. Please, if you feel sick do not travel. If you stay with us, we ask you to clean up after yourselves as much as possible before departure and we will also take extra precautions when cleaning the unit.
Thank you for understanding. We hope to host you!

The Love Shack has everything you need for a private, comfortable, and immersive outdoor experience. Enjoy your own personal fire pit, bathhouse, and outdoor deck in beautiful Northern Arizona.

The Love Shack is a renovated vintage camper. This 1962 Red Dale Camper has a propane stove and oven, ice box, water, wood stove to keep you warm, bathhouse with a solar shower camping bag and compost toilet, comfortable bedding, and so much more.
We want you to enjoy being off grid but remember this is a camping experience and you need to come prepared. We kept most of the unique touches from this 1962 Red Dale. We provide you with dishes, towels, cutlery, cooking supplies, bedding, breakfast options, tea and coffee, a comfortable bed, wood for the wood stove, firepit, solar lighting, cleaning supplies, games, gravity flow shower (NO HOT WATER), compost toilet, and SO MUCH MORE!! We have everything you need so you can relax at The Love Shack for multiple nights.

Here is the catch:

- We are 100% off grid. Water is a scarce resource so use wisely as we have to haul it all in ourselves. There is plenty of solar powered lighting so you will be able to move around even at night.

- We have a THOROUGH check in guide that has clear directions. Follow our directions closely!!!

- Above the kitchen counter is a solar battery operated light bar. We also provide a small solar powered lantern for you to use. Shut lights off when not in use to conserve battery. The lights WILL NOT last all night!

-The sink in the camper has a hand pump. Water should be used for cleaning dishes and hands, and simple cleaning. Please bring your own water for drinking and cooking needs if possible. The shower is a gravity flow solar camping bag. THE SHOWER BAG WILL REMAIN COLD AFTER SEPTEMBER as the sun is not intense enough to warm it up during the day. If you would like to take a hot shower please look into the nearby campgrounds.

-The toilet is a compost toilet, toilet paper and sawdust are provided.

-The hosts live on the same property and there is another camper nearby. But we ensure you will still enjoy peace, quiet, and seclusion in your own little off grid getaway. Please be aware that this should be treated as a camping experience. You are exposed to the elements and need to come prepared.

- If any items are damaged or missing there is a minimum fee of $50. Depending on the item it will go up.

-This is an off grid, remote camper. We do not allow any infants or toddlers due to the extreme nature of the area and circumstances. No exceptions whatsoever.

Toiletries, Food, DRINKING WATER, Ice for the icebox (there is no fridge), Beverages, Additional Fire Wood, 1lb Propane Cylinders during winter months for the portable propane heater, Phone Charging Devices/Battery (there is no electric in the camper), Headlamp or Flashlight, Clothing that is appropriate for the weather, and an open mind that is ready for adventure!

Winter Weather:
September - High 79° / Low 49°
October - High 68° / Low 39°
November - High 57° / Low 30°
December - High 45° / Low 22°
January - High 46° / Low 23°
February - High 49° / Low 24°
March - High 58° / Low 30°

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY: If you stay with us from November - April expect cold weather. Read our description closely as to how to be well prepared for your stay!

-During the winter months you will be using the wood stove to warm the camper. This does require your participation and needs to be tended to every few hours to stay warm. We recommend starting a fire at least an hour before bed to ensure you have a HOT wood stove and lots of coals to make tending to your fire easier. Understanding how to use a wood stove prior to your arrival is best but we are here to help. We provide fire wood for the wood stove. If you would like an outdoor fire bring your own bundles of wood please.

- Additionally, we provide a small Mr Buddy propane space heater from November-April. It accepts 1lb propane cylinders. You can use the heater if you provide your own cylinders which can be found at Walmart, most camping stores, and some gas stations. Buy a few as one tank only lasts a few hours.

The winter months are very cold with high winds in the evenings. The camper will keep you warm and safe but please come prepared if you are staying during the colder months.

The dirt road can be driven on by nearly all passenger vehicles, 4 wheel drive is not required but is recommended. Rain or snow can make the road difficult to drive on for 2WD vehicles, so 4 wheel drive is highly recommended during wet weather. The road is rocky and has many bumps so drive carefully and slowly as we will not be able to tow your vehicle if a problem arises. Please follow the directions exactly and there should be no issues.
