Charm abounds at the historic Cherry Captain Burrows Home; a nautical New England inspiration. Relax at this adorable and cozy abode with water views of Tuft’s Cove. This thoughtfully detailed well-appointed home has everything you will need to enjoy carefree timelessness in the picturesque town of Mystic with family and friends or even an escape for just yourself...! Come enjoy Mystic River and Mystic Seaport history! This quaint house is perfectly located; a ten-minute walk to downtown Mystic!

The space
Stay in the Captain Burrows House and experience Mystic’s seafaring history. Just imagine, while you're visiting the Mystic Seaport, that Captain Burrows may have brought goods back on his ship into this house through the cellar door to sell to the shipyards that once sat on the Mystic Seaport grounds.

This super quaint New England home is close to shops, restaurants, and more… only a half-mile walk downtown!

Kayaks, paddleboards, and bike rentals are just down the street.

Or plan to stay put for a day in the bright sun-filled rooms giving you time to relax and appreciate the wide-board floors and other original features throughout this historic gem!

If you choose to stay in for a meal, the galley kitchen has what you’ll need to whip up something delicious!

The beds are perfectly inviting for resting your weary heads after a full day of activity!

Oh! I forgot to mention- I’m (Debbie) obsessed with dishes, sheets, and antiques, so I have plenty sprinkled throughout the Captain's house:)

In the warmer months, several areas are outside to lounge about and enjoy the picturesque cove across the way.

The backyard has a fully fenced-in area to keep little ones close by.

Where you’ll be

Groton, Connecticut, United States

The circa 1810 Captain Burrows Home, located in the historic district of Mystic, CT, founded in 1654, rose to prominence as a shipbuilding community during the clipper ship era. Today Mystic is known for its quintessential New England charm. Mystic is famous for the only maritime museum of its kind. People come in droves today to visit not only the Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic Aquarium, and other attractions and annual festivals and events, but also to dine in the countless fabulous restaurants and bars. It’s become quite a hub for dining out!

Annual events are sprinkled in throughout the year, making Mystic a place to visit anytime! A list of things I can think of off the top of my head are; St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Antique Boat Parade, Mystic Outdoor Art Festival, Chowder Days at Mystic Seaport, Clyde’s Cider Mill cider press demonstrations (seasonal), Mystic Eats downtown Mystic, Taste of Mystic at Olde Mistick Village, Pirate Invasion Downtown Mystic, Lantern Light Tours at the Mystic Seaport, Santa Arrives by Tugboat, Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, Downtown Holiday Stroll and Luminaria, Community Carol Sing, and more!

Mystic is honored to be the stewards of several last-of-its-kind treasures…
Charles W. Morgan- last Whaling Ship, Sabino Coal Steamer- last in regular operation in the U.S., and Clyde’s Cider Mill- oldest steam power cider mill in the U.S.

Mystic really is a one-of-a-kind place! Visit "This is Mystic" WEBSITE PAGE for more great information.

For the past 25 years, my husband and I have had the good fortune of living and raising our family in this wonderful little coastal village called Mystic! I've been a stay-at-home-mom to three boys for the past 20 years and am now excited to start a new life adventure... sharing our historic properties with other like-minded people who are traveling from far and wide or even those who live close by! My husband and I enjoy historic homes, whether it's tending to our own or staying at historic places while traveling. I love spending my time learning, decorating, gardening, antiquing, traveling, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. Even though I'm new to hosting, I love it because I enjoy creating spaces and sharing those spaces with others- it's so enriching! I feel excited about joining this incredible Airbnb community!
