The views are breathtaking! On the Waterfront faces southeast, and from the room you can see both sunrise and the soft reflected light of sunset. When the tide is out, shorebirds, including egrets and great blue herons, can be seen just off the deck.
On the Waterfront offers privacy and tranquillity in an unparalleled setting overlooking the pristine waters of Tomales Bay and the beautiful rolling hills of west Marin County. We’re located on the famous tidelands of Inverness – our home is on a raised foundation, which means we are over the water when the tide is in, and over the intertidal zone when the tide is out. Ours is a true guest room. Although it has a private entrance and bath and is completely separate from the rest of the house, it is one corner of a charming Inverness residence.
The room is sunny and light, with:
•French doors opening onto a deck at bayside.
•Full, private bath.
•iPhone/iPod stereo dock.
•Small TV with DVD but no cable.
•Refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and a variety of coffee, teas, fruits, and nuts.
The village of Inverness is a 10 minute walk. The town of Point Reyes Station is a 10 minute drive. Local amenities include some of the best restaurants in the Bay area, two excellent kayak facilities, horseback touring, and locally grown oysters. The Point Reyes National Seashore surrounds the Inverness residential area, with great hiking trails and an array of both bayside and ocean beaches in close proximity. San Francisco is 40 miles to the south. Between Inverness and San Francisco lies the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, home of Muir Woods and Mt. Tamalpais.

My husband and I stayed at Meg and Alex' for the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The little town of Inverness is quiet, a stones throw from tasty places to eat and provided quick access to many wonderful hikes and beaches in the Pt. Reyes area. Our little one bedroom & bathroom was clean, quiet and a wonderful place to relax right on the water. The family staying in the home was friendly and very willing to assist with any questions we had. We would definitely consider another stay next time we are in the Pt. Reyes area.
Thank you Stephanie! On the Waterfront has been a B&B for many years and Cindy the host, wants nothing but to ensure your comfort and relaxation with a special waterfront view. I'm so glad you stayed with us and hope you are able to return soon!
Meg and Cindy
Cindy was a wonderful host and Meg made sure everything was setup in advance. We were welcomed with an assortment of fresh fruit, teas, and helpful advice about the area. The place is in a beautiful setting with plenty of privacy and an ideal sitting deck for watching the birds play over Tomales Bay. The room was just what we were looking for too. This place is in perfect proximity to explore the Point Reyes area by bike or car. Thank you for making this such a lovely weekend stay! Couldn't be happier with our experience.
We had great communication from Alex and Meg (who manage the rental) before the trip, and a kind, informative note from our hostess, Cindy, waiting for us at the room. Thoughtful touches in the room (fresh flowers, local organic yogurt for breakfast) made us feel welcome and at home. Oh, and the view...the picture brings it back. I spent two mornings watching the sunrise colors change on the water under that pier. Sublime!
The reservation was canceled 8 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Host Cindy was wonderful...location was perfect..very cozy waterfront cottage...just what we needed!
This listing is a lovely little studio. Something I truly appreciated was that the host had the heat on when I arrived because it was extremely cold when I visited. It was so nice to enter a warm room and not have to wait for heat to kick in.
The listing is very clean, and the bed is comfortable. I appreciate all the little amenities - a CD player + some great CD's. There was also some little treats - fruit, nuts, granola, coffee and tea.
A few notes - it's just off the road, so you will hear the traffic during the day, as the road leads to the Lighthouse. At night it's quiet and very peaceful. As others mentioned you have to wash your dishes in the bathroom sink, since it's not a full kitchen; however, this is not a problem. It's a good sized bathroom, and the sink is fine. :)
I would definitely recommend this listing as a nice getaway. It's simple and cozy and in a perfect location.
Super nice welcome with organic (!) yogurt and milk in the fridge, plus organic fruit, granola, tea and coffee right in the room. We arrived late and Alex/Meg left the keys at the door, porch light on, and heater on as well so it was nice and cozy when we got there.
Plus the place so so quaint and peaceful. The second morning we had a row of ducks in front of the house on Tomales Bay.
