Susan was there when we arrived, and was very friendly, and provided a lot of information about the area. Her dog, Bailey is the most calm dog you've ever met, and was not a worry for my daughter who is cautious around dogs. While we enjoyed our stay here, I'm not sure I'd use it for a younger child. There isn't a door between the eating area and the stairs going up to this suite, and the loft is where the "kids bed" is, so when people are conversing in the evening, the noise goes right up to where the kid is sleeping. My daughter (5) takes a bit to fall asleep anyway, so it didn't bother us, but it would be something to note if your child doesn't.
It is super quiet and peaceful at Cozy Haven. The breakfast was good, and while it's not right in town, it's very easy to get to. Overall good place to stay.
Thanks for your feedback, Lisa. True, the extended area is open at the stairs, but one should note that it is still private as no one can see the room from downstairs. As far as any noise for young ones who have a hard time sleeping, maybe pull the mattress into the big room with the door? Anyway, something to think about. I'll clarify that on my listing...
Warm and inviting! As our first Airbnb, we were not disappointed. Our host was gracious and kind and very helpful. The home was decorated so nicely and very charming. Amenities were plentiful. I have nothing but positives to share. Great place for a quiet get away!
Super welcome! Sally walked out to meet us, shook our hands and gave us a tour of the house. She and John are such friendly, kind people.
My family had a wonderful time at the Cozy Haven! Sally was very accommodating. It was comfortable for a family with 2 children. If we return to Gig Harbor we will definitely consider the Cozy Haven again.
When we arrived Sally was welcoming and gave us a quick tour of the space before we headed out to gig harbor! She gave us recommendations of awesome places in the area and helped us to make our trip as convenient and easy as possible! Every morning we awoke to an awesome breakfast! The stay over our three nights was fantastic and so much easier and more comfortable than any other hotel or place to stay in the area! Over our stay we drove the short and convenient drive to the Bremerton ferry to go walk around seattle and could easily commute to and from the ferry ports. In Gig harbor itself there are plenty of parks and state parks to visit along with some awesome areas downtown and a farmers market on thursdays and saturdays. there was plenty to do around town and some awesome sights to see! Gig harbor was conveniently located an hour and a half or so from olympic national park and only a few hours north of mount rainier! My group decided that we would definitely stay here again if we find ourselves coming up to the northwest! Sally made the stay homely and enjoyable and helped to make the stay in Gig Harbor one of the best travel experiences we have had! Should you find yourself in the area definitely stay here!
I can’t find enough good things to say about Sally and John, and their lovely, quiet and peaceful Cozy Haven. I stayed with them for three weeks as I was looking for a place to live in Gig Harbor; every day was delightful at Cozy Haven. I was treated as family, I truly felt at home. They are warm and friendly, and always ready to help and talk. The house and grounds are charming, completely beautiful and perfectly maintained. The suite I stayed in was Cozy Haven 1, which is fantastic. It’s spacious and very comfortable with large windows that provide a pleasing territorial view of tall trees and a pasture. The bed is quite comfortable as is everything else at Cozy Haven. Sally makes some excellent chocolate muffins; hopefully you will have the pleasure of trying them. My family will be visiting Gig Harbor later this summer. I will definitely be booking rooms for them at Cozy Haven. Thank you Sally and John!
John met us with his golden retrievers Zöe and Bailey, and all made us very welcome. Our second floor suite with roomy bedroom and even larger sitting room were indeed "Cozy." The property, including the garden, was very well kept. The rhododendrons in bloom were spectacular. The neighborhood in the northeast outside central Gig Harbor was quiet and restful, with the town less than 10 minutes drive away. We really enjoyed our stay of a week and would readily stay here again. While John did a great job as our host we only met Sally on the last day, as she had been away on a planned visit to family. She was equally hospitable and friendly toward us, making the conclusion of our visit perfect.

About the Host, Sally
My husband and I are both in education. We love kids and thrive on changing the world one child at a time. I grew up in Denver, CO, my husband in Chicago. We both went to school in Utah and that's where we met, married, and raised our two sons. After 30 years, we left a close community of friends and many fun memories for Alaska. Two years later we have ended up here in Washington. We love to hike, bike, and explore/adventure! I love old movies, John loves sports ( I do too, but have my limits), we are travelers, and love the activity this little hamlet on the Sound provides. Get togethers and barbecues with family and friends are our favorite! As we are people people, it just seemed like an airb&b would be a fun thing to do.
